Today we will try to figure out who is a better batsman between MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. Both of them are stalwarts of Indian cricket and their names will be written in golden letters in the history of Indian cricket. But due to the fact that these two players played similar roles in the Indian team, their fans often get involved in a heated argument in deciding who is the better batsman.We have five parameters of judging who is the better batsman out of the two:1. Test Cricket 2. ODI Cricket 3. T20I Cricket 4. IPL 5. Domestic Cricket1.TEST CRICKET :To be really honest both Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni don't boast of a great test record. Due to the presence of legends like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman in the middle order, Yuvraj and Dhoni used to bat at no.6 and no.7 respectively during their test careers. In Test Cricket, neither Dhoni nor Yuvraj boast of scoring an overseas hundred ( though Yuvraj scored a hundred vs PAKISTAN on a green top in Lahore ). But Dhoni played 50 more Test matches than Yuvraj, and some of his innings (like 224 vs AUS (2013) ) are really memorable. His performance in the overseas tour of ENG in 2014 was also decent. Though both the players had their limitations in Test Cricket, but by virtue of being more experienced and scoring at a higher average than Yuvi, Dhoni should be considered as a better Test player than Yuvraj.Though some Yuvi fans might argue over the fact that had he played 50 more tests, Yuvraj would have probably scored 2957 runs ( which comes down to almost 30 runs per inning) and would have probably outscored Dhoni, had he been included in the test team during the period 2014–17, but unluckily he never got that chance even after piling runs in Ranji Trophy. He was ousted from the Test team in 2012 and never made a comeback again.WINNER: MSDDhoni 1, Yuvraj 0.2. Indian Premiere League ( IPL ) :In the inaugural season of the IPL, MS Dhoni was the most expensive player and joined Chennai Super Kings, while Yuvraj became the captain of the Kings XI Punjab.2008: Yuvi had a decent season, but Dhoni performed better. WINNER: MSD2009: Yuvraj scored 340 runs in 14 matches, while MSD scored 331 runs in 14 matches. WINNER: Yuvi2010: Yuvi had a torrid time with the bat this season. WINNER: MSD2011: Yuvraj joined Pune Warriors in this season. Played a couple of blistering knocks but lacked consistency and ended up scoring 343 runs in 12 innings. Dhoni had a better season. WINNER: MSD2012: Not considering this year because Yuvraj missed it on grounds of being diagonised with cancer.2013: Yuvraj made a return to IPL this season. He was in the list of the top 10 six hitters this season. But, yet again he lacked the consistency and Dhoni fared better than him.WINNER: MSD2014: Yuvraj scored 376 runs in 13 innings in this season and played a few memorable knocks ( 83 vs RR, 52* AND 68* vs DD). Probably for the first time he batted better than MSD in the IPL.Winner: YUVI2015: Yuvraj joined DD this season and had his worst season till that time. Though he scored a couple of half centuries, but managed to accumulate 248 runs in 12 innings. Dhoni had a good season.Winner: MSD2016: Due to CSK getting banned, Dhoni joined a new franchise RPS this season. But unfortunately the move didn't work for him and he had his worst IPL season. Yuvraj missed the first half of this IPL, but on his return he played a crucial role in SRH's titular run. ( 42*(19) vs KXIP, 39 (21) vs MI, 45 (30) vs KKR in the eliminator, 38 (22) vs RCB in the final are few of the crucial knocks that he played). ( and my favourite moments of this season was against RPS, when Yuvraj inflicted a run out in the final over to dismiss MS Dhoni and denied 2 points to RPS, and of course that runout of Munro in the eliminator )Winner: YUVI2017: Dhoni and Yuvraj both had average seasons this time, but Yuvraj played a few memorable knocks ( 62 (25) vs RCB, 70*(41) vs DD, 47 (39) vs RPS ), which gave him an edge. His strike rate (143) was much better than that of MSD ( 116)Winner: YUVI2018: Dhoni had his best IPL season while Yuvraj had his worst ever. So there is no point in debating here. Dhoni is clearly the winner by a big margin.WINNER: MSD2019: Dhoni had yet another amazing season with the bat. Though Yuvraj started off well, when he scored 53 vs DC, and hit 3 consecutive sixes against Yuzvendra Chahal in the next match, he was dropped from the MI team after a couple of failures and ended his season with 101 runs in 4 innings. Dhoni scored 400+ runs and is the clear winner when it comes to IPL 2019.WINNER: MSDWhen it comes to IPL, Dhoni wins convincingly against Yuvraj by 7–4.Overall: Dhoni 2, Yuvraj 03. T20I CRICKET:In IPL MS Dhoni might be the better player, but when it comes to T20 international cricket, Yuvraj is the clear winner. Though he was an amazing leader, Dhoni never won a man of the match award in T20I cricket even after 98 appearances. He had a penchant of scoring daddy hundreds in his younger days:( Remember that 358 vs Bihar ( Year 1999) ). In the time period of 2014-16, when Yuvraj was not a part of the Indian team, he piled up truckloads of runs in Ranji cricket and domestic ODI and T20 Tournaments. A few of his match winning performances in domestic cricket like 260, 177 and 76*, 187 came during the 2016 season. He even scored 4 back to back hundreds in the 2015 season, probably these performances were the reason why he earned a place back in the Indian team.Winner: YUVIDhoni 2, Yuvraj 25. ODI Cricket:Now we come to the decisive round which will decide, who is a better batsman between Yuvraj and Dhoni. For maybe the thousandth time, we have the negotating tariff. Trump is using this with China, it also beinng used to entice multi national companies to move manufactures to the United States. Some see this tariff as a punitive tariff. Next we have the retaliatory tariff. Some call this a trade war. The term trade war came about maybe in the late 18th century with the Wealth of Nations. From there we have the tariff for revenue which raises the prices of commodities so that the government can generate revenue. none of these tariffs encourage domestic commerce. They do not introduce domestic competition which decreases prices of goods with treating human as animals which free traders and crooked consumers like doing. These tariffs do not increase consumption of raw materials, they do not increase tax revenues of cities, counties and states,and the revenue they create the federal government is not enough. The democratic party used the tariff for revenue only and every time they got their way they created disaster, look for economic prosperity in the 1816–1824 free tariff period, the 1836- 1842 free trade tariff, the free trade tariff of 1846- 1860 free trade tariff. The British had tariff for revenue only but for goods like tobacco, tea and coffee beans. They dd not have tariff for revenue only for manufactured goods while they were using protectionism.Laslty , we have the protective tariff. Historians, politicans, socialists and free traders are not experts on the protective tariff. animals are not composers of classical music. do regard a free trader talking about protectionism as an attempt of an environmentalist explaining climate change. No reason is used what so ever,and the will blatantly lie to you and exaggerate things to make protective tariffs as the link between His Excellency Donald Trump and White supremacist.Now the Protective tariff does the following,it is an indirect way to generate revenue for the government,and we did that after the Civil War along with the income tax, it favors domestic commerce over foreign commerce. It develops the mining sector, it increases the use of resources, it introduces domestic competition, it uses infrastructure better, it provides tax revenue for cities counties, and state government through the labor force. Essentially the protective tariff protects association/commerce, individuality/diversity of employment, provides the framework for man to be responsible for his God and his fellow man, and it has man showing he is the only species who has the power for progress. Go take a look at America in the 19th century. Only look at where the most patents were in the United States. Where are the bulk of patents coming from. They are coming from the north, They are not coming from the south. When we can consume more this means man is progressing. The United States consumed more than any country. How are we only to see this? They know as much about protectionism as rock does. We have to be brutally honest. Free traders think people are dumb they don’t need to refute protectionism, all they have to tell you is that President Trump is a white supremacist he likes tariffs. Thus tariffs are bad. They have never read a book that actually told them how to organize and economy such as to favor domestic commerce. They want you think that industries are best suited where there is an abundance of cheap labor.Historians are the worst concerning their coverage of protectionism. They have blatantly disregarded that the main political economy writings in the United States that attacked free trade are from protectionists not concubines of free trade socialism.Economist are right up there too, but they are all Post Cairnes free traders. The Historians control the narrative of protection along with the free trader, but free traders today are not well read. The ones in the 19th century were sinister. The ones we have today just have guns. They are like nerds geeks with guns, school shooters. They play video games and on social media more than they read.The politicians get their free trade thought from birds,/ free trade economist,and we know how birds their young. They get the watered down, ignorant free trade. They are concubines of Wall Street and the City of London. They would be the most easiest to debate. The Free trader economist would be boring to debate. I like debating people who know they are full manure. As for the Historians some might admit they do not know the tariff, but why would they care. They are not American; they push the narrative of economic history that does not the British narrative. I would feel empty debating these types of free traders.
