Almost certainly “Limited Duty Officer”. This is a f’realz officer, but unlike line officers and staff officers, the LDO’s job is much more similar to a warrant officer’s job. Technical, rather than general, that is. And less pushing of page 13’s day in and day out. On the down side, you can’t captain a ship if you’re an LDO, if that’s what you’re into.I just read on Wikipedia that they’re not required to have a bachelor’s degree.
