I was chanting alongwith pranayam. Near the completion of my japa I felt something rose from my root chakra uptil my navel in one go and I felt as if am sitting in the air like 7–8 inches above the ground, I was not able to feel the gravity. Though when I looked on my asana I was sitting on it but felt myself in air.I had some prior knowledge about kundalini at that time but did not know much about it. I thought what was it. If it is kundalini why dint it go to my head and stopped in between if not then what was it. But I was quite happy about it.Later on in many years it rose step by step I started having knowledge about it from net and all. I used to search about kundalini on net to know what kind of experience does one have on kundalini awakening. I wanted to know real experiences but everywhere I just read bookish knowledge 4 petals, 6 petals, green red colour etc but not real practical knowledge that could guide me to know as to where I have reached and how much I still need to go and how will I come to know that I have reached. Heart chakra activation was a bit problematic because I would feel nausea all the time, Vishuddhi chakra was more painful as I would feel pain in my neck and shoulders and head would turn backwards to make all the chakras linear and it’s very painful to sit quite straight in that pose for vishuddhi activation that too when you dont know how long and for how many days will you have to sit like this to cross this chakra.I have felt that the more the petals in a chakra the more time and effort it needs to get activated. Ajna and sahasrara are interlinked and take quite much time to open.Sahasrara activation is just like testing your patience as it takes veryyyy much time and practice.But you have many beautiful experiences during the journey, pinterest was quite good during this time for me. I would see some pics on in on meditation and I thought these are mere artistic picture but it was not so. These were the real statges during the journey. I tried for 2 complete days to draw sriyantra on paper with pencil but I couldnt. Finally I learnt it from youtube and tried to draw but still some flaws were there but trust me cosmic energy drew this yantra in my head within seconds within half a minute. I felt two locations of sriyantra in the body manipur and sahasrara but actually you may feel it anywhere in the body.image source pinterestabove given is the picure that surpised me a lot. I thought someone depicted through this picture panch tattva location but one day I was surprised to see energy moving like this exactly and forming ॐ on the face. It drew an Om on left half of my face then on right half and the on complete face. Left om was facing right and right om was facing left and the mirror images of all the three were made behind the back of my head. Then a lot many Om were made on my complete face like pieces of orange within a distance of 1–2 mm. I vouldnt count how many were those but were quite much in number.image source pinterestabove one is stage of bindu or amrit chakra. You feel every single dot and part of this image during its activation. But before amrit generation your chakras located below muladhara are also activated named as atal, vital, sutal, rasatal, mahatal and patal etc then you feel amrit flowing in your nasal cavity. Kundalini after piercing sahasrara drinks it and moves ahead. It doesnt dring a pitcher full of it, just tastes 1–2 drops of it after meeting Shiva in your sahasrara. Amrit is sweet in taste but not too sweet thick as much as honey but it’s quite difficult for you to drink it as your tounge is not able to reach and sweep your nasal cavity easily. You neck tastes sweet all the time when it starts flowing amrit from this chakra.When I was not able to see real experiences about kundalini anywhere I thought of making drawings of every stage during my journey so that I can help the seekers like me to let them know how it feels actually and to know where they have reached and how much still to go ahead though I couldnt make any of them because my drawing is not so good to depict the same nor I could remember the energy movements exactly while drawing but I found these images on pinterest and dint need to show you my poor drawings on the topic.People say everyone has different experiences of Kundalini may be they are right but path, petals and movement fashion is same for all means there is a fixed path from base to top, fixed petals on each lotus or chakra and rising through spine. Rest I think may vary from person to person but I’m not sure. Time taken is also diferrent for everyone for the complete journey that can never be said complete as far as I think.One more enjoyable thing is that you energy starts listening and responding to you. You must have seen people asking their small babies asking where are your eyes and the child touches his eyes to answer, where is you nose and child touching his nose. Similarly, when you start energy feeling if you ask you energy where is my manipur chakra it will vibrate there to answer you if you ask where is my vishuddhi chakra it will also tell you by vibrating there.After sahasrara you feel energy moving quite differently nowhere depicted in books. But it’s infinite journey, you enjoy every stage. It’s just a lovely experience.

When you will have opened your root chakra atleast, you will get to know how it feels when vibes move around/inside you.Kundalini rises step by step, chakra by chakra. It rises from Muladhara chakra to sahasrara and above as and when it finds its way clear to move forward.When it finally rises to sahasrara i.e. 7th chakra, you will feel like this:Generally waves, currents, vibes are felt by you moving through the spine in serpent motion but the day you feel two pythons moving from your base to top of your head, get to know that you are about to reach your destination i.e. piercing sahasrara knot.Two Pythons which are actually ida and pingala nadis in your body move like this in your back:Image source- PinterestYou will see a lightening in your head in closed eyes. It’s a sureshot sign of you kundalini crossing your sahasrara chakra.Your spine will become stiff as a iron rod. Dont try to break your stiffness by changing your posture into a relaxed state or kundalini wont move upwards,Current will move from your muladhara chakra to the base of your feet. Then Kundalini will be felt by you rising from the base of your feet to your muladhara and above go to sahasrara chakra.You will feel lotuses erupting one after one from your muladhara to your sahasrara chakra and then a snake passing thru all these lotus to the top of your head. Width of the snake is about 4–5 inches that rises from your centre of your base to sahasrara (not in serpent motion, rather in a straight motion, rising like water moves thru a tube) like this:Image source- PinterestYou will feel there are thousands of spokes in your head that have erupted out of your head and standing straight, height of them is around 2–3 inches. You will feel thousands of pulleys moving around those spokes in your head.Image source- GoogleWhen you feel a snake reach the top of your head in its centre, you will also feel it pulling itself out of a hole situated there. As soon as it pulls itself outside that hole, you start feeling millions of goosebumps throughout your whole body like this:Image source- PinterestThat’s a feeling of topmost ecstasy. Goosebumps continue for sometime.A divine power enters thru your spine and energises all your chakras like thisImage source- PinterestYour hands start to move itself. Actually it’s kundalini dancing after meeting her consort Shiva. You will also laugh uncontrollably, this is also kundalini power getting happy on meeting shiva.Your head moves backwards and your mouth gets opened by itself and remains opened a divine energy enters your third eye in the form of a strong wave continuously like this:Image source- PinterestYou will feel as if there was a lid on yNour heart which has been opened now and a divine grace enters your heart with a strong thurst. When everything is over, you will also feel that lid on your heart closing itself.At the end you will feel like a cold wave of wind is blowing through your spine, as cold as ice. This phase will also continue for a while.At last when everything is over, you wont feel any energy in your body to sit straight, you will feel as if all the energy has been sucked from your body. This whole exercise on the final day takes a time of say 5–6 hoursIf you feel you dint feel all these symptoms in one go, please dont panic that kundalini rise has stopped, it will rise again after say 10–15 days again and again till it meets Shiva.Purpose of Kundalini rise is to have necter situated in your amrit chakra which is situated above sahasrara chakra. Amrit chakra activation may take some time. Till that much days kundalini stays in sahasrara and waits for amrit to flow from amrit chakra. The day it gets activated and amrit starts flowing Kundalini drinks it and moves downwards on its journey.You will feel an amazing change in your meditating capacity both quality and quantitywise. The form of deep meditation we feel once in many months, is reached within 2–3 seconds after sahasrara piercing. You just meditate on your third eye and you dive into ocean of deep meditation within seconds everytime, everyday.This is all what I can explain. Hope now you understand how it feels when Kundalini rises to sahasrara chakra.As far as the time is concerned, it varies from person to person still I can say a serious continuous full day effort of 2 years can take you to final destination. But get to know that it’s an austerity of many years. If you leave practice, you again come to zero. Staying away from vices, like sex, violence, bad intentions is a must. Pranayam is a must for kundalini to rise. You must be able to let go the things in your personality and mind. Your career gets destroyed completely atleast once during the journey, you lose your loving relaions, you feel despair and depression till you cross sahasrara but once your reach your destination, things come back to you in a more beautiful form.
