However, during the trial, it became evident that Michael’s lawyer John Branca also legally represented Sony behind his back. There was therefore a conflict of interest so he fired Branca on 3rd February 2003, who in addition had a joint bank account in the Carribean with Tommy Mottola. Michael found out about this after he hired a private investigative firm to look into Branca’s conduct. Branca appeared mysteriously as co executor in Michael’s will, along with John MacClain, who had also been fired by Jackson in 2003. Michael’s will was allegedly signed on 7 July 2002 in Los Angeles but at the time Michael was seen in New York protesting against Sony and Tommy Mottola. Reverend Sharpton has confirmed that on 7th July 2002 Michael was in New York with him and the Jackson family has questioned the validity of the will. It is not exactly clear when Branca was rehired after 3rd February 2003 and he was never seen by Michael’s side during his 2005 trial. John Branca was previously fired by Jackson in 1990 and rehired in 1993. In 1993, Branca demanded 5% of Michael’s atv catalogue as a condition to represent Jackson, who was facing allegations of child molestation, was sued for millions by his tour promoters and dealt with a cash crisis. Soon after he sold 50% of his ATV catalogue to Sony for 90–150 million dollars. This 5% he gave Branca then was the obstacle for Michael to refinance his loans which had been by then (2006) sold to Fortress, which charged him with double digit interest rates. In 1999, Michael Jackson took a 200 million dollar loan from the Bank of America, ill advised by David Geffen. In 2006, Branca objected to the loan that would have allowed Michael to stay solvent and Michael paid him off 15–20 millions for his 5% to avoid involuntary bankruptcy. It is highly unlikely he would appoint as co executor of his Estate a person who tried to ruin him financially. Indeed, by 2009 Jackson and Branca had hardly spoken to each other. Branca was and still is a financial advisor for Sony. The infamous catalogue was eventually sold to Sony for 750 millions in 2016 even though Branca publicly stated then that the catalogue was a cornerstone asset that the Estate would hold onto.Martin Bashir, whose double dealing and backstabbing infamous interview triggered the 2005 trial, as he deliberately misrepresented Michael as a child predator, released an album under the record label of Sony. The Arvizo family, though serial accusers and profiteers, did not accuse Michael until they were referred to Larry Feldman, who also legally represented the Chandlers in 1993. Michael’s image was tarnished after the 1993 scandal and his album’s sales dropped dramatically, even though Dangerous was faster selling than both Thriller and Bad. The 2005 trial cost Michael over 17 millions and by then he was already in debt. Michael feared that Sony sabotaged his career and thus his finances so he would have to sell his catalogue for petty cash.Michael, being financially cornered agreed to perform live in 2009 in spite of his poor and deteriorating health. Every effort he made until then to clear up his finances and rebuild his career was being sabotaged. The AEG tour promoter invested millions on the Comeback tour of an artist whose health demanded 24/7 medical attention. They pushed back the concert dates because of Michael’s bad physical condition, which they did not publicly admit, yet they threatened Michael they would pull the plug if he did not appear at rehearsals and if he did not straighten up. Michael resorted to drugs to be able to perform. Before he died he took ephedrine which energized him but everyone could see that he would never make it to 50 shows. The AEG executives’ leaked e mails prove that they were aware of the severity of his condition yet they turned a blind eye to it. The doctor AEG hired to run tests on Michael so they coud get the green light from the sponsors was an ear and throat specialist!!! Michael’s physician, Dr Conrad Murray, was debt ridden himself. AEG knew Murray desperately needed his lucrative job. He was hardly the ethical, successful and unbiased doctor Randy Philips suggested. The night Michael died Murray was engaged in a 47 minute phone conversation with his girlfriend instead of monitoring his patient’s vitals non stop. He administered a lethal cocktail of benzodiazepines and propofol which caused Michael cardiac arrest. However, Murray alleged he did not know how to perform CPR and he did not call 911 immediately because he said he could not find a landline and he did not remember the street’s name!!! He also lied to the paramedics about the drugs he gave Michael and the paramedics said that had he called sooner they would have saved him!!! According to Michael’s autopsy report he was fairly healthy and his death was ruled a homicide. Murray was convicted of negligent homicide and was sentenced to 4 years of which he only served two.According to Randy Philip’s leaked e mail Jackson was so despondent during the press conference and drunk that he had to slap him to get him ready. The moment Michael appeared to announce his 10 concert dates bookmakers started betting whether he would be able to make it to one show. 13th March 2009 the tickets went on sale. Soon after the number of dates increased to 50. Michael kept missing rehearsals, losing weight, he forgot his songs’ lyrics, he was disorientated and dizzy. He collapsed from the second rehearsal, which is the reason the concert dates were pushed back to several months later. The AEG executive Randy Philips and tour director Kenny Ortega denied rumors the concerts were postponed because of Jackson’s bad health. The AEG gave Michael an ultimatum: he would either put it together and deliver the performances or he would lose everything as his contract was on him. By the time he died Michael Jackson was on propofol for 60 days!! He was in fact sleepless as propofol is not actual sleep but anaesthesia!! Michael suffered from terrible insomnia , as a withdrowal symptom from Demerol, which Klein gave him on insane doses under several aliases. Demerol is a painkiller he was previously addicted to. Michael Jackson suffered from osteoarthritis, phlebitis and he was legally blind!! Another withdrawal symptom from demerol is chills. Michael Jackson rehearsed in June wearing three layers of clothes. Karen Faye pleaded with the AEG executives to get him help but they did nothing!!Eventually, the AEG sold the rights of the rehearsals’ footage to Sony. This is it became the highest grossing concert documentary ever, with a total gross of over 260 million dollars. Karen Faye, Michael’s make up artist and lifelong friend said that ‘’ This is it is a lie, it is what Kenny Ortega, John Branca, Randy Philips and Frank Dileo want you to see’’. Indeed, This is it was heavily edited to make Michael look healthy and strong when he clearly wasn’t. Michael was literally emaciated, they could actually see his heart beat through his skin chest, he was short of breath, dizzy. In spite of certain health ailments however he was fairly healthy, in fact his heart was more healthy than that of the average 50 year old. By no means was he however able to perform 50 live concert dates.
