PDF Editor FAQ

What's it like working for the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency)?

Each member of the US Intelligence Community (IC) is unique in its own way. The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has its own special role to fulfill, which for DIA, focuses on strategic military intelligence. The DIA is the Pentagon's own 'spy agency' that works to collect, analyze and disseminate military/strategic intelligence to inform Defense officials, military commanders, national security advisors, members of Congress, and the Executive Branch/president. DIA is compromised of 3/4 civilian full-time employees that are specialists in areas of military/defense/foreign affairs/languages/technology, etc., and that serve as career Intelligence Officers/Analysts (your idea of a 'spy'), scientists, research and policy personnel, and many other fields. The other quarter of employees are military officers and soldiers from all service branches (Army Military Intel, Navy Intel, Marines Intel, AF Intel, Coast Guard Intel) that usually work at DIA for a term--i.e., they rotate into DIA for a period of their military service to work as analysts, on specific projects, at certain centers, or in the Defense Attaché Service. For instance, an Army military intelligence officer might get orders to work at DIA for 2-3 yrs before rotating back to a normal Army unit. The director of DIA is always of tradition, a military general or admiral who is appointed for a term. The DIA is probably most closely related to the CIA in that both are all-source intelligence agencies and both deploy clandestine service operators across the globe. Whereas CIA is concerned about national security/political intelligence usually, the DIA is concerned again about high-level military/strategic intelligence. DIA recently launched the Defense Clandestine Service (DCS) which deploys Intelligence Officers ('spies') all over the world to work out of embassies with cover and alongside Special Operations military units in the field. DIA operators who deploy abroad and in support of special military missions receive tactical special operations training. Overall, DIA has many more opportunities than CIA, NSA, FBI, NGA, etc. The DIA runs many intelligence centers across the world to include the Medical Intel Center, Missile and Space Intel Center, the Defense Combating Terrorism Center, and the very interesting Underground Facilities Analysis Center. NSA focuses on encryption, code-breaking, advanced eavesdropping capabilities, and crazy cyber technologies. FBI is federal law enforcement that protects the homeland from terror threats, WMDs, organized crime, etc. NGA does advanced imagery analysis and maps out every nook and cranny of the world. Dept of State Bureau of Intel & Research is very analytical and focused on intel that will assist diplomatic decisions. Dept of Energy's Intel section focuses on analyzing energy policy and nuclear science. Homeland Security Intel is crime/terror/illegal smuggling/immigration intel.Overall, if understanding the reasons why countries go to war, how new political leaders affect a foreign country's defense program, researching new experimental aircraft, monitoring military movements near Russia, interrogating high-level captured foreign military officers or scientists, or searching for ballistic missiles in North Africa interests you then DIA might be a better fit than CIA.

All hatred of Trump aside, when you look at his policies and how hard indicators of the state of the US have proceeded so far isn't he doing a good job? What's wrong with trying to get back jobs to the US, and halting illegal immigration?

It would not be hard to substantiate the fact that, as a whole, the US public is incapable of using the same measuring stick for the actions of any given two presidents, each belonging to one of the private political parties, D or R. That is really at the root of your question, I think. That is not by accident, of course. It is the result of a massive and long “campaign” to confuse private political parties with individual elected public servants, as well as eliminate the original concept of representation in this democratic republic. That said, the state of the environment is all that really matters. And, in that arena I give Trump a higher grade, albeit poor, than I gave Obama - which was “very poor”. But, I don’t give Trump a poor grade in that arena because I confuse technologies with substances, e.g., “clean coal”, which actually refers to a set of technologies, not a carbon based substance.Illegal immigration is highly detrimental to the environment, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with halting it.As far as getting jobs back to the US, if objectively studied, my guess is that the environment would greatly benefit per “x” item produced in the US. But, we will never know because it is highly unlikely that such an objective studied will be performed. But, we can go by past activities that are so evident as not to require supporting data. Asian manufacturing “took” most US jobs. The environment was given no consideration in most any manufacturing efforts in Asia for decades and still isn’t to any significant degree, nor was the environment taken into consideration with respect to the energy necessarily supplied for Asian manufacturing efforts (e.g., coal fired plants that operated/operate with NO clean coal technologies present). And, a secondary result was /is the near extinction of multiple fellow creatures, particularly in Africa. This secondary effect came from the predictable wealth accumulation by Asians due to massive manufacturing. The largest market for ivory, rhino horns and tiger parts, for example, is: Asia. Then there is plastics in the oceans. Asia’s mismanagement of waste has lead to massive amounts of plastics ended up in the oceans - contributing an estimated 70–90% of plastics in the world’s oceans. China pays lip service to the environment (and lip service, alone), and people actually make statements like, “even China is on board with environmental management efforts and Trump isn’t”. Such people are complicit in the deaths of many fellow creatures, many of which died a slow and painful death. A garden slug would understand that a dead or threatened fellow creature is no less dead or threatened b/c someone hates Trump, loves Obama or “believes” Asia is the world’s leader in environmental efforts. Measuring sticks utilized and actual facts are important.I notices that a lot of replies mentioned the stock market. The stock market is not a function of the executive branch, but it can be affected by political policies. Generally speaking, policies/laws are documented and they have a history (also documented). Regardless of what one’s feelings are toward “trump’s policies”, if one can’t identify the actual text in a specific document(s) that “caused something” on the stock market, then they must not be knowledgeable enough to discuss, exactly, what “thingy” they believe caused what “reaction”. But, I think the stock market is fair inasmuch as - if an individual “Joe” buys a given stock(s) solely because someone said they “thinky” its going to go up b/c they hate/love Trump, and “Joe” performs no research whatsoever on his own and on that stock, then the odds are against “Joe”.

Cocodoc is really good for formatting forms that don't come with editable text boxes. This is really useful for me as it saves me having to print off forms, write on them and then upload and send them back.
