It helps to separate the technology from the abstract social concept. Typewriters may have gone but the concept hasn't, typewriters were socially about a mixture of self-publishing, recording and presentation of the written word. When you take it as that then the typewriter hasn't died, it just became the word processor, the database, etc.CB is also just a technology, it was about communication between individuals or in communities. This has been largely replaced by cellular phones, but also Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for community communication. The concept of community has also changed from being geographically bound to being a purely abstract social concept with variable entry points.So, social media is really just an extension of the social interactions we have had for millennia, it is like religion, penpals, BBS's, the market place gossip, the cafe chats, the social clubs, etc. But all put in our hands.To television: it is a medium for visual communication with the potential for narrative and education. TV replaced cinema in many ways, not forgetting that cinemas used to have news reels and educational content as well as purely fantasy. I would argue that television isn't at risk, but that broadcasting via antennas is certainly under pressure and the concept of linear proscribed channels is certainly going to be exploded in the future.Even though traditional broadcasting is clearly under pressure, I wouldn't say this is a death knell for TVs, the reason being that research shows that people still watch content on their living room screens. There has been a rise in viewing on other devices but it hasn't significantly impacted the hours that the main screen in the living room is on. I work for an internet streaming company and the overwhelming majority of viewing minutes are on what we call 'living room devices', i.e. TVs, games consoles, set-top boxes, etc.TV isn't dead, the viewing of stories, news and entertainment on screens in the living room remains strong in our lives, but where the material we watch is coming from is changing. Not as fast as you think because there are many demographics involved here, but the dial is shifting, especially with 16–36 year olds.

Ricky Ponting scored yet another century in his career scoring 124 of 133. It was a huge target and not many people expected India to chase down such a huge target.Gautam Gambhir scored 113 of 119 balls in a record run chase in Australia and gave a hope to Indians that day. He played a great innings single handedly under immense pressure that day . This innings made me a fan of him.Robin Uthappa scored a quick 51 of 46 balls before getting out . He was given out on a no ball bowled by Brett Lee. Umpire didn't call a no ball and the TV replays showed it was a no ball. Cricket wasn't like today so umpire's call was the final call and Robin Uthappa was an unlucky man.Our Indian captain MSD in this match played one of the worst knocks in his career scoring 36 of 66 balls. It was an off day and difficult to see our Indian captain struggle like that . His slow innings cost us a memorable match. India eventually lost the match by 16 runs with 5 balls still to spare.Had India won this match it could have been a memorable innings and a match which would have been remembered for a long long time. It could have been a historic match for us but alas it wasn't 😢😢. Gautham Gambhir played a fabulous innings and for me this is arguably the best ODI knock that he played though in a losing cause.
