I’ve had a few. But, the one that sticks out, happened about ten years ago, as my wife and I were house hunting. We had a very good idea of the kind of house we wanted, and one of the houses that came up on the list was a house built in the early fifties, here in San Jose, CA. Our realtor was kind enough to leave the back door open for us, to take a look at the property. The house was a three-story 2600 sq ft home with wood floors The layout was typical: with the bedrooms on the top floors; living room, kitchen, and family room on the middle floor. The lower floor of the house was inset into the side of the hill. If you walked down the narrow steep stairs from the second floor, you ended up facing the street (glass window), with a bonus room on your left side, and a door on your right side, that led into a garage, with a low ceiling. Although we felt the rooms were a little small for our taste, the beautiful wood floors, and serene backyard were something to consider.It wasn't until we descended the narrow steps to the lower floor, that I noticed something was awful about the house. As my foot touched the floor of the lower level of the house, the small hairs on my arms, neck, and back, began to tingle. I felt a very strong presence, as if someone was yelling in my face to GET OUT OF THEIR HOUSE. Without saying a word to my wife, I turned on my heels, grabbed my wife’s hand and started to basically drag her up the stairs. At the same time I was experiencing this feeling of someone yelling in my right ear, at the top of their lungs to GET THE F**K OUT OF HIS HOUSE. I’m sure if there was a physical capability to harm me, it would have done so.As I reached the top of the stairs, I saw the door to the backyard immediately in front of me. Without missing a beat, I continued to drag my wife non-stop, until we were outside of the home. As soon as we left the house, we no longer felt the presence. I hunched over, with my hands on my knees, as I took a deep breath. My wife looked at me and said “Did you feel that?!” I looked at her and said “You did too?” She said “Yeah, it felt as if someone was yelling at us, and pushing us to get out of the house!” I could not believe my wife had the same experience as I did. Well, obviously, we lost any interest in the house, and started our walk around the side of the house, to get to our car, in the driveway. We made it to my car and I walked her to the passenger side. As I opened her car door, we felt the presence again. We both turned around slowly, and looked at the third story window. We could feel a dark. angry entity, waiting for us to completely exit the premises. We both stood staring up at that window for about a minute, astounded by the sheer energy, and anger, the spirit possessed. After that encounter, we have never set foot, on that property, and will never do so.

Weird, right? It’s almost as if the Great Salt Lake (in Utah) were manmade. By the way, my house is just off this picture.Of course, the division in the lake is manmade, and the “pink” of it actually comes from some “color correction.” Here’s what it looks like as of 2018:Do not adjust your monitor. Yeah: this lake is drying up, ever so slowly, and it won’t be long before we find the salted body of Jimmy Hoffa in there.So why is the top half of the lake different from the bottom? This shows us:Yes, we built a train railway directly across the lake. Because of course we did.From Wikipedia:The causeway across the lake was built in the 1950s by the Morrison-Knudsen construction company for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a replacement to a previously-built wooden trestle, which was the major component of the Lucin Cutoff. The route is now owned and operated by Union Pacific.About 15 trains cross the 20 mi (32 km) causeway each day.Prior to December 2, 2016, the causeway constrained the flow of water between northern and southern parts, which has a significant impact on various industries surrounding the lake. With the construction of a 180-foot-long (55 m) bridge, creating an opening of the causeway for water to flow between the arms of the lake, water levels have begun to equalize. The full impact of the flow of water from the southern arm of the lake to the northern is yet to be seen.The northern arm of the lake has a much higher salinity, to the point that the native brine shrimp cannot survive in its waters. In the southern portion of the lake, where the vast majority of the fresh water inlets are found, the salt level can dip below what is necessary for the brine shrimp to survive. With the opening of the bridge, the salinity of northern arm of the lake will likely drop as less saline water from the southern arm of the lake flows into the northern arm. The brine shrimp harvesting industry could benefit from the freer flow of water.There were concerns from the brine shrimp harvesting industry that the conditions in the southern arm of the lake were becoming too saline for the brine shrimp, following several years of lower precipitation in the lake's watershed. The precipitation in the watershed was above normal for the water year beginning on October 1, 2016. The additional water allowed the levels of both arms of the lake to rise, and at least for the near future the conditions for a healthy brine shrimp population seem good.Great Salt Lake Minerals Company (a subsidiary of Compass Minerals) extracts minerals from the northern bay. The company potentially benefited from the higher salinity of the north-west arm of the lake but had difficulty accessing water from the lake because of lower water level. Prior to the opening of the causeway the intake channels had to be extended to reach the water.Morton Salt, Cargill Salt, Broken Arrow Salt and the Renco Group's U.S. Magnesium each extract minerals from the southern bay, and could benefit from a more natural mixture of water between the two sides of the lake.So, maybe, eventually, the lake will get back to a single color again.

You may not like this answer.The Speaker of the House is 2nd in line for the Presidency succession-wise.If President Donald Trump (and by default VP Michael Pence) decide they will not abide by the election results (which to be clear would mean that Electors would make Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, President-Elect and Vice President-Elect), the person who would likely carry the most constitutional heft would be the Speaker of the House. Her actions and presence of mind to remind the military of their constitutional obligations and subservient position vis a vis civilian constitutional authority is both prescient and proper.And, it is my view that Speaker Pelosi is making it crystal clear that she will not allow a victory by Biden-Harris to be reversed through any kind of coup. To be fair, I am confident that the U.S. Armed Forces stand ready to prevent such a coup, but I also believe Trump has legitimized militias, racist groups, and to a large extent ICE employees to counteract the electoral process per the US Constitution.BTW: Personality issues aside, this is what the electorate gets when it allows an unvetted candidate to take office. The lack of tax returns, financial holdings and obligations, and vetting of conflicts of interest have brought the United States to this point.
