Cashiers Check: Fill & Download for Free

We had just bought a house. Suddenly we had some unexpected expenses. We had only been married a bit over a year and I still had money in a separate account, even though we also had a joint account. I wanted the money from my account in our joint account, so I went to my bank and got a cashier's check. I then walked across the street to the other bank and deposited it. So far, so good.I get home and am checking to see if a few things had cleared, and lo and behold the cashier's check hadn't. A cashier's check is supposed to clear immediately… it's just like depositing cash. So, I get a person on the line who says they put an automatic hold on checks of that size, cashier's checks included, as a fraud prevention measure.Basically, they're saying they don't trust me when I tell them I want to make a deposit.So, less than a month after loaning us enough money for a house, at a bank that my wife had used for nearly 20 years, they thought we were going to try to scam them out of a few thousand dollars. Seriously?My wife called and was told the only way to get immediate access to the money was if someone at the branch where the account had been opened nearly 20 years earlier could approve it. Fortunately the branch was in the small town she grew up in and her parents were able to call and get it approved.(Oh, and when I went to get the money out of my bank? One of the tellers asked why I hadn't been in recently. I said we'd decided to use my wife's account. Her response? “I guess we know who wears the pants in your family.” I was absolutely shocked. First, it's none of your business why we made the decision we did. Second, I'll just go ahead and close the account, thank you.)

Well since money probably is not an issue…Do what I’ve done with my adult child. I charged him what it would cost to rent a 1 bedroom in decent shape in the area. I gave him a cashiers check for the amount in the account AANNDD told him where it came from and said remember this when your kids get that age.
