PDF Editor FAQ

Can I get out of highschool PE by doing horseback riding?

It varies from school to school.Check with your guidance counselor to see if your school offers PE Waivers. Next, see if they are offered to school sports only, as many schools are.If not, they may want more information about what you do, who you do it with, how often, etc. Be sure to have people (coaches) ready to validate that you do in fact practice often and possibly think about keeping a log to make it easier.I hate to bust your bubble, but I didn’t get a PE waiver for doing martial arts five times a week for two hours a day, and neither did the dancer who danced for over 20 hours a week. Most schools require a school sponsored sport (or marching band or dance team) to be eligible, but it won’t hurt to ask. It’s a pretty sucky credit requirement with an even worse system for being granted a waiver.

What if Mayawati becomes Indian prime minister?

Mayawati epitomises the filth that Indian politics is. She’s now joining hands with Akhilesh Yadav, son of Mulayam the same man who sent goons to attack (probably molest and rape too) Mayawati back in the 90s. It’s so easy for her to forget everything just for the sake of power. Another feature of Modi - can make staunch enemies best pals after 1 election. If you look at the life the non-politician Mayawati - it’s inspirational. She came from a really humble background and rose to the prominence that she did. She has been projected as a Dalit messiah. Why? Inarguably, the most significant contribution of Mayawati as CM has been to make the Dalit identity larger than life (quite literally, with 20 feet statues of Dalit icons and symbols) – subsequently providing Dalits with self-respect and a deepening political confidence. Hundreds of monuments of Dalit leaders, including herself, now dot UP’s landscape, worth approximately $250 million. Space was made in the budget for job guarantees such as 30% reservations for Dalits in the private section, loan waivers for Dalits, reshuffling of bureaucracy to promote Dalits, and several welfare schemes for backward classes, the disabled, the girl child and so on and so forth. While the educated class firmly knows how reservations slowly needs to be eliminated, she’s going to advocate for the same till her last breath. Anyone from UP will admit that’s overall Law&Order was handled better by her but I can spend the rest of my evening writing about the corruption charges against her.Now if she becomes the PM of our country, we’ll have the following significant changes50% reservations in private sector which means private companies will start quitting India.Reservations in Bollywood, Cricket team, football team, Supreme Court, Private colleges and schools, Dance India Dance, etc.More emphasis on building statues of Dalit leaders and elephants and less on infrastructure. Her statue every 5Kms.Corruption in public offices again. She’s an autocratic leader so you know how much heed she’ll give to her cabinet.Reservations again.More Reservations. She’ll meet global leaders and tell them to provide reservations in their country as well.Lastly, some more reservations. The good sign is she’s slowly waning away from her own citadel, let alone her coming to the Centre. She went from 80 to 19 seats in 2017 so it won’t be overconfidence on my part to be optimistic here.

Today, I tried out for my school's dance team. I didn't have all the forms I needed and was basically asked to leave. This really embarrassed me. On top of that, I always feel left out. I always feel like crying. I'm only a freshman. What do I do?

First understand that being asked to leave was likely not personal. It is very likely that person isn’t allowed to accept you as someone trying out, without that paperwork. I’ll take a guess there is a permission slip or injury waiver in it. While it’s True, being asked to leave sucks and is embarrassing, that’s only temporary and likely it meant more to you than anyone else. 10 minutes later, I bet no one gave it a second thought, except for you.Second, don’t sweat it, you’re only a freshman, that means you’ll have several other chances to try out again if you really want to join the team. Just be sure to have all of your paperwork in order ahead of time, next time. And feeling left out, well, it kind of goes with being a teenager, and especially a freshman. Don’t worry, you’ll find your groove eventually. There’s a reason that Seniors and Juniors, and even Sophomores seem like they know what they’re doing it’s simply because they have more experience and have been in high school longer than you, so cut yourself some slack. You only just started high school. You’ll get there and seem just as confident and like you know what you’re doing in time too! Eventually, you’ll learn that what happens in high school isn’t the end of the world, even if it may feel like it at the time, and that in 5yrs, or even 10yrs, after graduation, it is very unlikely that you will even be in touch with or care about the people you went to high school with, as you all graduate and go off into the world and your own personal priorities change, and you get comfortable in your own skin, become even more confident, and you live your life and experience more of the world. Just don’t take to heart too much of what happens in high school, as there are few people who view that time in their life as having been a great time. Fun, yes! Unforgettable, true! But, rarely a great time…*smiles*Here’s my (hopefully) inspirational story…I tried out for our cheerleading team as a freshman. And, while I had all of my paperwork, etc., honestly, I wasn’t very good as I had no experience (but, I was still hopeful..*smiles*), but, I also wasn’t very close with the other girls on the squad, their having gone to school together since preschool..*shrugs*..so I’m sure You guessed it by now, I didn’t make the ‘cut’ to get on the squad. But, I didn’t let that stop me, I looked into other teams and clubs at my school, and I ended up joining the basketball team for a few years (had tons of fun), and I also joined the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), which is where most of my interest and personal passion truly lay. I went on to become the club Vice President and then President. I represented our school in and won our Regional Business Competition, and got a free trip to the State Competition. So, I had plenty of fun over the years doing what I ended up both liking and being much better at doing individually.Plus, looking back, I know for certain that my involvement in the FBLA went on to serve me much more (providing me various other opportunities I won’t get into here), and it looked good on my initial resume and I’m fairly confident that it also helped to give me an edge (showing both responsibility and leadership skills), and get me hired at my 1st job, beating out other candidates. My point is, you never know in the moment, when you fail to get something you want, how not getting it, may just have been a blessing in disguise. But, NEVER let not getting something stop you from continuing to try until you either achieve what you want, or you find your own “niche”/something else special you prefer or want more. And whether your niche is on the dance squad or doing something else entirely, that’s up totally up to you. Just don’t let a No or a million No’s stop You from trying and finally succeeding!..*smiles*
