They have translators and experts on local business in Ukraine, but they haven't had a lot of time since the fall of the Soviet Union to build an industry of consultants on international business. That's the sort of thing Americans are #1 in the world at, having had two hundred more years of experience at it than Ukraine. And apparently Burisma was willing to pay top dollar for that kind of in-demand expertise. Capitalism I believe that's called. And while corporations have long been criticized for overpaying their executives, it's not illegal and generally deemed a normal part of a free market to pay people whatever the board deems appropriate.I quite enjoyed Hunter Biden's public response to the accusations wherein he promised to continue to keep his father separate from his business dealings. There was a bit of humor in the idea that his father must have been changing his diapers and doing his homework for him despite the fact that the former Vice President is no expert on international business law and wouldn't know where to begin.
