Believe it or not, there’s one issue I agree with him, and I wish more people did as well.This is an issue that he’s tweeted about many times and said it on TV a bunch; it sort-of became a catchphrase with his supporters.It used to irk me, but the more I’ve spoken to Trump supporters and argued with them online, the more I see how important it is.I’m of course referring to Trump’s repeated pleas for people to just “READ THE TRANSCRIPT!”I have to admit, the first few times Trump tweeted the phrase and said it on TV I was a bit perplexed. I have read the transcript, the minute it was released, and it looked pretty damning to me. Yet, here was Trump begging people to read it!Was I missing something? I read it again and again and failed to see why Trump would want anyone to see it! It looked damning any way I looked at it!And then I saw a clip by Trevor Noah where he had someone ask a bunch of Trump supporters if they had read the transcript, and sure enough, none of the people in the clip have read it.You should watch it, it’s pretty funny:Now, when I saw the video, my first reaction was that it couldn’t be real. It was comedy, he probably cherry-picked a few responses, maybe even paid a few actors. I mean, the transcript is only 6 pages, it’s not like he asked them if they read the 600+ pages of reports from the various congressional committees on the impeachment hearings, he asked them about a 6 page memo! Surely no one could willingly be this uninformed on a topic that’s so vital to the president they support so blindly.Well, guess what? I started asking Trump supporters with whom I come in contact (including family) and what do you know? Not a single one of them had read the transcript!I started making it a habit online as well, whenever a Trump supporter would get into an argument with me in the comments to one of my answers or tweets, I’d ask at some point if they read the congressional reports, or at least the call transcript Trump was telling everyone to read.The results were enlightening (and depressing), none of them had read the reports, and the overwhelming majority had not read the transcript either.It seemed that for all of Trump’s “READ THE TRANSCRIPT!” tweets, it looked like his supporters are not big on reading themselves, and that’s a shame.I feel that every citizen has the responsibility to educate themselves, especially when it comes to something as grave as impeachment. It’s why I made it a point to read, not only the 300 page Intelligence Committee report, and not only the 50 page report by the Judiciary committee on the historical grounds for impeachment and their 100 page report tying it all together, but also the 150 page minority report containing the Republicans’ “rebuttal”. I feel like it’s my responsibility to be informed of all sides of the debate before forming my own opinion.I get it, not everyone has time to read 600+ page reports, but at least a 6 page transcript? One that your guy is encouraging everyone to read?Come on! The least you could do is READ THE TRANSCRIPT!

Yes I have read the transcript. It is just normal business of the USA. Nothing illegal and nothing out of line. And Yes unlike the Democrats who believe, we read these things folks. Trump supporters are not the idiots you take us for. I agree READ THE TRANSCRIPT. You might find out it doesn’t say what the Democrats are telling you.
