Research literature suggests healthy nutrition plays a role in mental/emotional and physical health and wellness.A meta-analysis including studies in 10 countries, conducted by researchers at Linyi People's Hospital in Shandong, China, suggests that dietary patterns may contribute to depression (Psychiatry Research, Vol. 253, 2017), for example. Dietary patterns are also related to hippocampal volume in older adults, according to a study led by Felice Jacka, Ph.D., director of the Food and Mood Centre at Deakin University in Australia (BMC Medicine, Vol. 13, No. 215, 2015).There are many nutritional protocols that will assist you to feel healthier. How have the British managed to maintain economic supremacy in this day? They no longer have their colonies and the pound sterling is no longer the main reserve currency.

Britain paid heavily for "winning" WW1 and WW2. It cost an absolute fortune to run these wars and wealth hemorrhaged with war debts particularly to USA at the end of WW2 effectively bankrupting Britain. War rationing did not end until 1953. The colonies peaked in 1922 and were unsustainable in terms of the the huge UK manpower drain it all involved. Britain lost a huge percentage of its young manpower in WW1.The UK's health care system is the most efficient, says the Commonwealth Fund report looking at five areas of performance - quality, efficiency, access to care, equity and healthy lives. The US came last in the overall rankings, which also included data from Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand. The WHO ranks UK 18th and USA 37th on health care.UK does have a booming tech center in London and Cambridge. ARM chips power most of the mobile world and Apple designs are by a Brit. They have a booming car industry exporting 80% . Banking and Insurance is world leading. They are heavily involved in space satellites, an advanced film industry, Star Wars etc as well as a leading music industry, fashion etc the BBC which exports programs world wide, JK Rowling etc, WPP the World's 2nd biggest advertsing agency, gourmet restaurants etc. Rolls Royce engines power many of the world's air liners. UK Consultant Engineers work worlwide on such projects as Sydney Opera House, Singapore Metro etc. Stem cell research is very advanced. But like USA, 80% of UK work is in the world leading service and knowledge industry so the public are not so aware of what companies now do.US really is only a token superpower in that it has a huge and wasting stockpile of military hardware that has no relevance to modern threats such as 9/11, Afghanistan, Isis and cyber crime. Possibly all its military, public and commercial systems and processes have already been hacked. The future is increasingly difficult as huge numbers of poorly educated, innumerate Westerners are going to find themselves without jobs or jobs so poorly paid they cannot support former lifestyles or repay huge debts they have built up. Social progress is now going backwards. Poor pay means low tax incomes which means reduced military budgets and research. That is already well advanced, and US in particular is faltering in new advances and products.China alone produces more graduate Engineers than anyone else who in turn both invent and make the new products that will keep them ever more wealthy.

How are antipsychotics made?

All OTC and prescription drugs are concocted in a laboratory using toxic chemicals. Antipsychotics are no exception. The original antipsychotic drugs were discovered by chance and then tested for their effectiveness. The first, chlorpromazine, was developed as a surgical anesthetic after an initial report in 1952. [1] It was first used in psychiatric institutions because of its powerful tranquilizing effect; at the time it was regarded as a non-permanent "pharmacological lobotomy". [2] (Note that "tranquilizing" refers to changes in external behavior, while the experience a person has internally may be one of increased agitation but the inability to express it.)[3][4]Antidepressants are more widely used than antipsychotics to the degree it is prescribed liberally like buying Halloween candy. Because antipsychotics and antidepressants are a patented product, the ingredients are exclusive with no requirement to be totally revealed.Serotonin, which is derived from natural unprocessed food— nuts, chia seeds, cheese, and red meat, is one of the main mood enhancers for the brain. Prescription Serotonin the main ingredient in antidepressants, is made via a unique biochemical conversion process. It begins with tryptophan, a building block of proteins. Cells that make serotonin use tryptophan hydroxylase, a chemical reactor which, when combined with tryptophan, forms 5-hydroxytryptamine, otherwise known as serotonin. These toxic artificial concoctions of Serotonin cause more harm than good.SSRI Antidepressants Do More Harm than Good - Primum Non-Nocere: An Evolutionary Analysis of Whether Antidepressants Do More Harm Good an evolutionary analysis of whether antidepressants do more harm than good. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death for Americans. To make a more poignant comparison, suicide is committed every 13.3 minutes. However, it is critically important to include the many deaths that are suicides, but, are labeled as accidents, because there is NO definitive evidence to support a suicide designation. Car crashes, drug (street and prescribed) overdoses, and other death-causing mishaps are sometimes unconscious suicide.Between 1990 and 2000, the suicide rate decreased from 12.5 suicide deaths to 10.4 per 100,000 people. Jay Fournier, University of Pennsylvania, and his colleagues aggregated individual patient data from six high-quality clinical trials and found that for people with mild, moderate, and even severe depression, placebos work nearly as well as antidepressants. Chinese medicine could in principle refer to: (1) the full range of medical systems used in contemporary China, including Western biomedicine; (2) the traditional indigenous Chinese medicine that is conventionally referred to as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); and (3) other indigenous medical systems, distinct from but TCM, practiced by non-Chinese or minorities who live in areas that historically were part of China or are now part of the Peoples Republic of China, for example, Korean and Tibetan medicine. For purposes of this essay I use the term Chinese medicine only to refer to TCM, but including issues of the integration of TCM and Western medicine. Second, Chinese medicine, in the sense of TCM just discussed, includes a wider range of practices than does Western medicine. In particular it includes: (1) “medicine” in its conventional sense of practices that cure or prevent disease, treat disease and injury and assist in childbirth, etc.; (2) a range of practice to prevent disease in the broadest sense by maintaining health, including practices associated with the martial arts such as Taijiquan (also known as T’ai chi); and (3) a range of practices that extend health by seeking longevity. In particular, a clear account of Chinese medicine cannot confine itself to the first of these only. Within a Chinese historical context, medicine ( yi 醫) was one of several qualitative sciences. It included “nurturing life” ( yang sheng 養生), a broad category that comprised a wide range of self-cultivation techniques. In later periods, medicine also included materia medica ( bencao 本草) and internal ( nei dan 內丹) and external ( wai dan 外丹) alchemy. The early Chinese qualitative and quantitative sciences were specific, with no unified notion of science (Sivin 1982 and 1990). Secondly, medical works, like other scientific works, were classified as technical specialties, distinct from generalist works, including the “Masters” texts associated with Chinese philosophy (Raphals 2008–2009, forthcoming). Medicine and its related disciplines appear in the last section of the Bibliographic Treatise (chapter 30) of the Standard History of the Han Dynasty ( Han shu ). This Treatise consists of six sections. The first two (“Six Classics” and “Masters”) contain philosophical works. The last two are technical: “Numbers and Techniques” (S hu shu 數術), and “Recipes and Methods” (F ang ji 方技). The latter includes works on medicine and longevity, including the categories of medical classics ( yi jing 醫經), classical recipes ( jing fang 經方), sexual arts ( fang zhong 房中, also referred to as “arts of the bedchamber”), and immortality practices ( shen xian 神仙). These chapters reflect the concerns and expertise of the technical and ritual specialists closely associated with the “Recipe Masters” ( fang shi 方士) associatehttps://plato.stanford.edu/entries/chinese-phil-medicine/The History of Chinese Medicinechinese-medicine The History of Chinese Medicine By Fercility Jiang Updated Mar. 18, 2021 Chinese medicine is a kind of traditional treatment method and philosophy of physical balance in China. It has a long history more than thousands years, while it still important and are even spread around the world. How did traditional Chinese medicine begin? The history of Chinese medicine begins about the second century BC because there are no clear records of medical techniques that are older that. There exist written descriptions about disease from the Shang Dynasty era (1600-1046 BC), but there isn't a record of their medical techniques. The first clear medical treatise is the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon . In the text, the use of moxibustion or acupuncture to manipulate the Yin and Yang are described in ways similar to that practiced nowadays. This and later texts covered a variety of techniques based on traditional physical concepts, but now traditional medicine has a secondary role in China compared to Western medicine. Similar Ancient Medical Practices and Ideas Could it be that the ancient concepts came from abroad? It is interesting that many similar traditional practices and ideas were believed around Eurasia at about the same time. For example, the traditional Five Phases concept seems similar to the Greek scientific ideas of the Five Elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Aether) that date from before Socrates and were widely believed by Europeans until modern times. The concept is also similar to the ancient Indian and Buddhist ideas of the Four Elements (earth, water, fire and air). The idea of Qi was described in the Yellow Emperor's Inner Cannon . Traditional medicine practitioners actually believe that there are various kinds of qi. It is thought that various techniques such as acupuncture and cupping can manipulate the various kinds of qi. Fire cupping also was practiced in the Western world and Egypt long before Christ. The cupping technique was used in the ancient West to manipulate the “humours.” That seems similar to the concept of manipulating the kinds of qi. But whether East and West shared medical knowledge long ago isn't known. The Most Influential Texts The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon 黄帝内经 (Huángdì Nèijīng) has been the most influential treatise for more than 2,000 years . The multi-volume treatise presents views on the function of the human body and the physical world that remain the basic ideas believed by traditional medicine practitioners. Yin and Yang are described, and so are the Five Phases of nature (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and Qi . It isn't known how or where these ideas originated. The Treatise on Cold Injuries 伤寒论 (Shānghán Lùn) and the Bencao Gangmu 本草纲目 (Běncǎo Gāngmù) are two other essential books for traditional medicine practitioners. Both deal with drugs and herbs. The Treatise on Cold Injuries is ascribed to Zhang Zhongjing. It was published about the year 220 at the end of the Han Dynasty era (206 BChttps://www.chinahighlights.com/travelguide/chinese-medicine/history.htmChinese Philosophy and Chinese MedicinePsychiatry Admits It's Been Wrong in Big Ways, But Can It Change?
