What I've read and can confidently recommend because it helped me achieve goals at RightHello:1. John Warrillow - Built to sell (Must read in services)Not about sales in general, but rather about organising efficient sales processes and in turn building a company that doesn't require constant micromanagement. Based on a true story of a real service business. Very useful, actionable insights for CEO's that want to scale a business and sell it.Value: this book will help you if you're struggling with scalability, and feel trapped in your current job or company. Easy to digest, and the value is immense.178 pages, about 200-minute read, or a bit over an hour a day for 3 days.2. Robert Cialdini - Influence: Science and PracticeA classic from the 1984, that applies to both service and product business professionals.Value: very useful for all marketing and sales specialists, but not only - anyone can benefit from learning what science says about persuading people. A lot of psychology here but it's really pleasurable and easy to read. psychological however it's not hard to read at all.262 pages, about 310-minute read, or an hour a day for 5 days.3. Little Teal Book of Trust: How to Earn It, Grow It, and Keep It to Become a Trusted Advisor in Sales, Business and LifeService businesses need more of that crucial trust component than product businesses (in most cases at least). Learning about how to build trust is crucial. This book will be a great start.208 pages, about 250-minute read, or an hour a day for 4 days.A few of my good buddies told me about a few reads that are supposed to be worthwile. I haven't gotten to read them yet, but I trust their recommendations so check the books by Alan Weiss too:1. Million Dollar Consulting: the Professional's Guide to Growing a Practice2. Getting Started in Consulting3. Million Dollar Consulting Proposals: How to Write a Proposal That's Accepted Every TimeHope you find these books useful! I think a 310, pretty evenly divided, is the absolute lowest score that would make you competitive, given good grades and recommedations, a strong statement of purpose, and a fairly detailed statement of whom you want to study under and why, listing some recently published papers by that faculty member. If you don't see anything published in the last 2 or 3 years, the person may have changed directions in the research, and you won't be a good fit.A 320 would certainly make me happier, but with grades of 3.6 (8.5 out of 10), and good recommendations and essays, it's possible with a 310.

Imagine you are at a confectionery shop or big bazzar, buying your monthly supplies(or any where which includes a big-big list) .and the total calculation goes like this :410+277+366+172+117+118+144+942.Total :2546If you are finding this even remotely challenging then assume a bigger list and standing in a market with all the hurry in the world. Most probably you wont end up checking the calculation which gives a lot of scope of loosing money or overpaying.Solution: we have been taught to add UNIT'S DIGITS then the TEN'S DIGITS then HUNDREDS and so on....Lets try it in reverse:add Hundreds then Tens, then Ones.400+200+300+100+100+100+100+900=2200Now we already know the approx answer in about 5 secs.If needed go further, add tens:10+70+60+70+10+10+40+40=310total (uptill now): 2200+310=2510As you may see now we are very much sure about the total in about 15 secs.for exact answer add one's:0+7+6+2+7+8+4+2=36Total: 2510+36=2546
