I will tell you what we do not think. Where deals can be struck without being lectured to as to what to do with our countries in return.They do what they say they’re going to do. No room for double speech.They deliver on time and on budgetThey are efficient and relentlessThey love stability in foreign relations rather than instability.They are pragmatic and believe in real politikThey dont hide their true intentions and the fact that they are motivated by self interest. A desireable quality, as you always know where you stand with them.This is what we think of the Chinese in general.In South Africa they think nothing of living amongst blacks and pursuing commercial and retail enterprises. They are exceptionally industrious and single minded. They also gamble alot which is quite odd considering how hard they work to earn their money in the first place.

I drew these in high school when I was around 14-17 years old--except for the last one which was almost 4 years ago now. I'm mostly self-taught with no formal training. I haven't really drawn anything since high school, besides that sketch a few years ago and a sketch I mailed from Afghanistan. It's a shame that most of these are either gathering dust in my parents' home or torn to shreds in a landfill. Excuse the blurriness of some of the pictures. It’s funny that not one of the other answers mentions what I believe to be the real politik reason for the change: in the 1960s the US was in the thick of the draft for the Vietnam War, and grad students going for MDs and PhDs got special deferments…while all the law students were off to be canon fodder. So the law schools relatively quickly changed the degree from a nominal “bachelor’s” to a nominal “doctorate” to protect their students :-)That being said, it’s also true that a three-year post graduate degree really is very different from an undergraduate degree…although most lawyers would be hard-pressed to defend the claim that a JD is the equivalent in work and achievement to an MD or even a PhD. But, in the absence of the legal equivalent of an MBA (probably its closest cousin) nobody is too stressed about the JD terminology.
