The political context is that if the Democrats will soon have stones to throw at the windows of the Republican Politicians, including a potential future impeachment, it behooves it to clean out there own skeletons so that it would not be perceived as hypocritical in future necessary actions to clean up the Federal Government.So it is good that the #MeToo phenomenon has started, it is a shame that otherwise capable people are being felled by behaving as hormonally-charged teenage boys either still now, or in the recent past or before holding public office, and not mature and respected Statespersons. We should recognize strong women as the essence of successful society, like Justin Timberlake said:So the Democrats are moving out of their glass houses and getting ready to aim at the misogynists in the White House, on the Alabama US Senate Docket, and those that are still hiding behind the pay-offs that the Federal Administration has made to the victims that work or have worked in the Capitol.

There is no single answer to this question. The per-election limit on contributions to individual candidates for federal office (U.S. president/vice president, senator, representative, or delegate/resident commissioner) per election cycle (primary election or general election) is currently $2,600, per the FEC Contributions Brochure. This amount is indexed to inflation and changes biennially. It does not apply to self-financed campaigns; a candidate for public office may spend as much of his or her own money on their campaign.Until April 2014, there were also limits on aggregate contributions (i.e. the total amount an individual could donate to all campaigns for federal office), but this limit - which dates from the 1970s Federal Elections Campaign Acts - was struck down as unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission (docket no. 12-536).The brochure linked above gives additional limits on donations to political action committees and political parties, although note that the McCutcheon decision has effectively repealed all of the aggregate limits listed in the brochure.

At this point, Texas is in a pickle.The normal procedure when a state sues another state is to issue process in the Supreme Court, serve it on the defendant state, and then the defendant state has a deadline by which is has to reply.However, Texas is asking for an expedited hearing, which means it wants the court to schedule a hearing right away, then require the four defendant states to file their materials in response on a very tight timeline. At present, there is no claim, and the four other states haven’t been given notice of the claim.Of course, on Jan. 21, 2021, the case is moot - Joe Biden will be sworn in and, at that point, the Supreme Court will say that impeachment is the only answer. If there was fraud, the House has to impeach and the Senate has to convict. Even then, Kamala Harris becomes president unless she’s convicted too. Then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.As such, the Supreme Court has to give permission for it to proceed in an expedited manner. That’s probably not going to happen as Texas hasn’t stated a claim which the Supreme Court has jurisdiction over. For example, Texas probably doesn’t have standing and, if the Supreme Court grants it, it opens up the possibility of every state suing every other state over election disputes.
