Not biting huh?The US constitution neither grants rights nor limits them. The US constitution limits the power of government, details the manner in which it is to operate and what FEW powers it has to do so.The requirements to become President of the US are being a natural born citizen and above the age of 35. That’s it. Want to add extra requirements, pass an amendment granting the government those powers. I won’t hold my breath.States have no authority over federal taxes or returns therefore, in turn, they also have no authority to demand their release or examine them.Now let’s try applying a little 4th and 5th amendment, those pesky limits on government powers, to the scenario. Both amendments are incorporated against the states.4A: Prevents the government, from federal all the way down to municipal, from going on fishing expeditions looking for something to use against an individual.5A: Prevents the government from forcing an individual to testifying/provide evidence against them self.What purpose, other than to weaponize them against a political opponent, would using the power of the state to force the release of tax returns serve? I know, I know, you’re super totes worried that a candidate may be a secret agent of a foreign power. No? You’re just worried that they will use their position to line their pockets? Are you just as concerned that senators and congress critters, the people who ACTUALLY control where federal spending goes, can LEGALLY make investments and trades based on non-public information?Or are you really just upset that ‘she’ lost and you want retribution???

In Indiana, at least, it is unlawful for the custodian of medical records containing information related to a diagnosis of mental illness or other psychological disorder to release those records to the patient or patient’s representative unless the patient’s physician authorizes the release. This is ostensibly to protect the mental health of the patient, since mental health records may contain information that, if disclosed to the patient, could harm the patient. A violation of this law is a felony. Most states have similar laws; I know of Indiana’s because my mother practiced medicine in Indiana and had occasion to deal with this issue from time to time.This is likely why the medical record custodian will not release the records to you or your attorney. Your attorney may need to hire a physician to review your records; that physician may then determine what part of the record may be released to you without causing harm to you.
