Is there any way Trump can claim credit for North and South Korea agreeing to end the war?

No, he did not do anything to promote their agreement. He actually made things more difficult and awkward for both countries by being very aggressive toward North Korea. From Trump mentions new sanctions on North Korea at end of CPAC speech:WASHINGTON — The United States has leveled its "heaviest sanctions ever" against North Korea, targeting the regime's shipping and trading abilities, President Donald Trump said Friday at the tail end of an address to a conservative gathering.According to early excerpts from the president's remarks to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump was expected to announce the new "largest ever" package of sanctions against the North timed just as the Winter Olympics come to a close in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang. The president, however, gave his administration's actions to curb North Korea's nuclear ambitions only a brief mention toward the end of his speech, which lasted well over an hour."Hopefully something positive can happen," Trump said. "But that was just announced and I want to let you know. We have imposed the heaviest sanctions ever imposed."Asked Friday afternoon what he would do if the new sanctions don't work to curtail North Korea's aggression, Trump said a "phase two" could be the next step."Phase two may be a very rough thing, may be very unfortunate for the world," Trump told reporters at the White House. From How Trump's North Korea 'Options' Could Lead to Nuclear War:Is Donald Trump looking for an option to go to war against North Korea? That's the unsettling conclusion from a report last week in The New York Times – that even Trump's own generals and national security advisers, who are not exactly doves themselves, are afraid of giving the president any ideas. The Pentagon, "worried that the White House is moving too hastily toward military action on the Korean peninsula," is resisting demands from Trump to explain how he might do precisely that, and so U.S. officials have consequently circumscribed how much they're willing to tell the president. "Giving the president too many options," the officials said, "could increase the odds that he will act," reports the Times. With Trump sounding off about "fire and fury," the small, paranoid nation wields a giant nuclear stickFor months, White House officials, including Gen. H.R. McMaster, who heads Trump's National Security Council, have been making worrisome threats about taking out North Korea's arsenal. In December, McMaster said that the likelihood of war with North Korea is "increasing every day." There are widespread reports now that people within the Trump administration are considering giving North Korea a "bloody nose," using a limited lightning strike. And hawks such as Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham declared that chances are at least 70 percent that the United States will launch all-out war with North Korea if there's one more nuclear test. "If you ever use the military option, it's not to just neutralize their nuclear facilities – you gotta be willing to take the regime completely down," said Graham, adding that the idea "comes up all the time" when he plays golf with TrumpThe Pentagon, and most professional military men, don't support the idea of a surgical strike against North Korea, and opposition to the idea from Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is particularly strong, says Daniel Sneider, a veteran Asia analyst and a visiting scholar at the Asia-Pacific Research Center at Stanford University. "McMaster doesn't really know much about this part of the world, and he's trapped within the framework of the White House, taking Trump's wandering thoughts and trying to put them in some sort of policy framework," he tells Rolling Stone. That doesn’t sound very peaceful to me, when your advisors have to limit the amount of information they tell you due to fear that you will enter war at a hair’s trigger. He talked about engaging in war with North Korea constantly when he golfed with Sen. Lindsey Graham.A lot of credit has to go to Moon Jae-in for having the foresight to ask North Korea to join South Korea as a team to walk in the ceremony and participate in events. South Korea also funded the hotel and other accommodations for most of the North Korean delegation, excluding athletes. From South Korea covers $2.6M bill for North’s Olympic delegation:South Korea on Wednesday approved spending $2.64 million to foot the bill for the hundreds of members of the North’s delegation to the Winter Olympics. The Ministry of Unification said the money will cover costs for the 424-member contingent — including the cheerleaders, orchestra, taekwondo performers, reporters and other supporting personnel. The International Olympics Committee will cover the costs for the 22 North Korean athletes competing in PyeongChang, ABC News reported.South Korean President Moon Jae-in invited the North to take part in the Olympics in an attempt to lower simmering tensions between Pyongyang, Seoul and Washington over its nuclear and missile programs. The final number for the total payment will be disclosed at a later time, ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun said.An additional $27,000 also had been approved and spent for two visits by North Korea’s site survey inspectors last month before the Olympics, ABC News reported.SEE ALSONorth Korea calls for unification with South in rare statement“The North Korean delegation’s participation in various forms is serving as a pretty good opportunity to [achieve] Seoul’s goal to hold an Olympics of peace and becoming an important chance for harmony that improves the inter-Korean relationship and opens up the door for peace on the Korean Peninsula,” Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon said.He also stressed that South Korea has maintained UN sanctions and other international restrictions as it hosts the hermit kingdom’s members. The money approved Wednesday does not include costs for hosting the high-level delegation from the North, including President Kim Jong Un’s younger sister Kim Yo Jong and its ceremonial head of state, Kim Yong Nam.Those expenses will be covered by the South and North Talks funds, another department within the same Unification Ministry, according to the news station. The ministry also is expected to cover the costs of sending a 150-person North Korean delegation to the Paralympic Winter Games next month.VIDEOMoon and others in the South Korean delegation engaged with the North Koreans, showing them warmth and hospitality, whereas Trump and his delegation tried to isolate them. Ivanka pointedly snubbed the North Koreans when she was around them. Mike Pence would not stand for the United Korean team due to North Korea’s participation even though it also included the host country.Trump is just grandstanding that he had a role to get credit for achieving something great during his presidency. He did not meet with the North Koreans, but sought to isolate them through economic sanctions and aggressive tweets. It is all talk and no action. From Trump warns North Korea of 'fire and fury':Trump warns North Korea of 'fire and fury'"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” Trump told reporters from the clubhouse of his golf course in Bedminster, N.J., where he was being briefed separately on the opioid epidemic. “They will be met with fire and the fury like the world has never seen.”Trump added that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un “has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said, they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

Do you plan to stop vaping after hearing the news of recent deaths?

OMG - the irresponsible media and anti-______ people are at it again!NOPE - there are a variety of reasons that illness could be happening, tainted product from a foreign country or irresponsible manufacturer… or using wrong ingredients are the most likely causes.I’ve seen no reference to the WAY they were using... causally puffing vs ‘smoke-stacking’ (trying to blow huge smoke columns). The later is possible, since the average age reported is 19. There’s also been no discussion or list of the type of devices (the wattage settings, or type of coils/atomizers, amount ingested). All of which could play a part in the level of illness. Obviously, >450 people impacted in just a few days, covering 33 states, sure implies either MASS MARKET DISTRIBUTION or MAIL ORDER. However, none of that information is currently available... or publicly discussed. They did narrow 4 of the 5 deaths to a vape juice that had THC/CBD Oil in it... but didn’t mention if it was from the same manufacturer, or same base, same brand, or same type of equipment... or even what the BASE IS. The released that it’s believed to be a VITAMIN E BASE in the THC/CBD juice that is the culprit. Now, the WHY & HOW it got there.I’m in no way attempting to diminish the validity, importance, or sadness of premature deaths. ANYONE’S! I’m very saddened for those that died, their family and friends... and sincerely HOPE the REAL AND ACTUAL REASON is found, and can be prevented and better regulated in the future. I AM saying that MORE RESEARCH and LINKS, and ACTUAL SCIENCE should be used before governments (federal or state), and the media, attempt to blame ‘all;’ generically and subjectively, rather than objectively and all encompassing as they are doing now. Cause, and Solutions, won’t be found by misinformation, unsubstantiated speculation that leads to bans, blocks, or otherwise new laws and regulations.**An investigation revealed the cause of death was linked to vaping illicit products containing THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana.**I would seriously guess that it *MIGHT* be COCONUT OIL or ALMOND OIL, or even Vitamin E oil, all of which are common in ORAL CBD/THC OIL; but absolutely NOT used in ‘vaping juice’ (which is most commonly a mix of VG & PG - vegetable glycol vs propylene glycol). The type of glycol used has over 30 years of history, in a variety of oral and breathed products. What if the issue is a NUT ALLERGY - in those sick or dying?? If the ‘oil’ used (in their THC/CBD Oil was ALMOND, or some other type of nut, that *could* be a valid issue few may have thought of.What if it’s Vitamin E oil? Which TURNS INTO Hydrogen Cyanide in vapor form, and inhaled by humans. Again, the science isn’t new, nor these people the first with a problem from Vitamin E Oils, or some other ‘common ingredient’ cropped up when ingested in a completely different form. In 2000, Dr. Dilini Vethanayagam was a resident physician at McMaster University Medical Center in Ontario, Canada. One of her patients was a 30-year-old woman who appeared to have a bad infection; trouble breathing, coughing, fatigued, vomiting, while also having a fever and diarrhea. Tests revealed the woman had “lipoid pneumonia.” But there was no explanation as to what caused it. When Vethanayagam dug deeper, the woman admitted to inhaling home brews of marijuana oil made with either petroleum jelly or vitamin E oil.The RAPID HEATING of the oil (base)... and the vapors from, are what created the problem. NOT ‘VAPING’ - or e-cigs - but irresponsibility, ignorance, and a general lack of science.Bleach is good, and has a purpose. Ammonia is good, and has a purpose. However, mixing the two together is a deadly concoction. Certain chemicals aren’t designed to mix; some change significantly when their state changes (solid, liquid, gas, vapor). It is irresponsible and misinformed to think, feel, believe, or blame ALL (5, now) DEATHS (in the last four months of 2019 - April - September - and the Illnesses (450 reported in 33 states) on “ALL” VAPING - or e-cigs. It is fearmongering 101, and just like Reefer Madness, it’s based on junk science and utter ignorance when they blame vaping... rather than the specific reason those vaping are having that issue. It would be like all xyz cars suddenly being involved in crashes (similar to the Pinto’s in the 70’s)… but the media, and government officials, then banning ALL CARS. from public roads. Remember when someone was poisoning Tylenol? Testing narrowed the cause quickly, targeting specifics... because of lot numbers and lab tests.WRONG! Gross knee jerk reactions, based on unconfirmed and unrepeatable circumstances… that aren’t YET fully investigated. It is, at best, building mountain ranges out of a few mole hills. However, I’m not inclined to blame ‘THC or even the CBD’ (though immediate avoidance of vaping products containing those type of ingredients is advised until more information is actually known). With what information I have been able to see, find, and know... my gut tells me it’s more likely the BASE - or something ELSE in the production process (packaging) that is causing the issues. I hope they figure out what is really, and likely, happening with actual science backing it... so people can be made aware... and the manufacturer can immediately stop production, RECALL, and if criminal... be held accountable.I’m guessing, as I’ve not seen any actual science on the specific, but think it is the COUNTERFIT ‘marijuana’ vape juice that is actually and really causing the problem, not ‘vaping’ - but a very specific type of juice, manufactured with complete disregard for SCIENCE! Some of the ORAL OILS (of THC & CBD) are cut using vitamin E, which is far more less expensive than actual terpines. According to the Institute of Chemistry in Berlin, terpenes (aka terpines) are found throughout nature, but are most pronounced in plants as part of their essential oils to create a unique aroma; and are unique to each species of plant. However, Vitamin E is HIGHLY toxic for human consumption when inhaled in vapor because it releases Hydrogen Cyanide. This is why you always check and research your product. The New York State Department of Health said lab tests showed extremely high levels of vitamin E acetate in nearly all of the analyzed samples of products that contained cannabis. As for the general safety and benefit of vaping, and e-cigs:The media claims e-cigs have only existed for about a decade. However, the first documented reference to an electronic cigarette is a patent granted to Joseph Robinson in 1930 (filed in 1927). By 1990, numerous patents for nicotine inhaler devices were filed with the patent office throughout the 20th century. Reynolds brought to market the Eclipse “heat-not-burn” device, whose functioning falls somewhere in between that of a pure nicotine inhaler and a combusted cigarette early 1990. A major U.S. tobacco company officially requested an exemption from FDA (which did not then regulate tobacco products, but did regulate drug delivery devices) to allow the company to bring a version of an e-cigarette to market in 1998. And by 2003, a Chinese company flooded the world market, as the media and lawsuits turned against the cigarette manufacturers and tobacco industry; initially with ‘regular’ and ‘menthol’ flavor choices. Personally, I had my first ‘electronic cigarette’ around fall 2001... and had tried a few different types by 2003. So, those claiming it’s JUST a ‘decade old’ or there is ‘no science’ really hasn’t done any research, or paid attention.Personally, I ceased smoking 1 to 2 packs of little cigars a day, which I’d done for about 15 years, and about 30 years of cigarettes before that. I’ve been ‘vaping’ since it first came out, and TOTALLY OFF cigars, cigarettes, and even nicotine now. I’d tried nicotine patches, gum, hypnosis, and even acupuncture… NADA! Nothing worked, EXCEPT - finally - vaping. When I first started, I was able to almost immediately drop to about 1 pack a day; then, 5 years ago this coming January 2020, I totally quit smoking any cigarettes or cigars.About 3 years ago I feel through a deck… while at the doctors - which I seldom ever go to, unless I break something - they did a physical, including chest x-rays. The doctor said he could tell that I smoked, but not 1 to 2 packs a day for over 40 years! My lungs were clear, clean, and in better shape than most people that has been smoking just a few years. He was surprised that I’d smoked that much, for that long.I know many others, like me, that ceased years of smoking using vaporizers. It’s silly and ignorant to place bans on established QUALITY PRODUCT, especially those made in America or Canada. I fully understand bans on e-juices made in China or India, or other less sanitary and financially responsible countries… without a CERTIFICATE OF ANALYSIS (COA) and some guarantees their product doesn’t contain harmful toxins.I fully understand and support BANS against children from BUYING… or using in public… JUST LIKE CIGARETTES and ALCOHOL.I completely get that MORE research and education is needed, but it should be GOOD SCIENCE! Not the ‘Reefer Madness’ type of over generalizing CRAP. The science should be well designed, 100% recreatable, and provable. Obviously, ALL MAMMALS will eventually die when deprived of oxygen... they knew that when Reefer Madness was created, and released, then promoted... but ignored that fact!**The latest craze has some serious issues… some COMMON FACTORS… like the THC & CBD OIL USE, confirmed in 4 or the 5 deaths, though I honestly don’t believe EITHER of those are necessarily the problem... but a ‘red herring’ (a false flag) to purposefully caste a negative or some doubt on those state that have ‘legalized’ it at the state level. So, it’s not ‘just vaping’ or ‘all e-cigs’ - but a specific type of juice… likely from the same bulk/raw manufacturer… and I’d guess there are some other common factors, such as wattage, amount of smoke/vaper, mix of PG/VG base, and potentially even SCENTS/flavors. Which are apparently being ignored, or going unreported. The media is picking up and running with the deaths and illness… but WITHOUT COMMON SENSE! And pushing the ‘ALL BAD’ narrative, like the irresponsible idiots in reefer madness! Because of the STUPIDITY and KNEE JERK REACTIONS, and obliviousness to the reality that TENS OF THOUSANDS of people ‘vape’ … and have for nearly twenty years now… and this is the FIRST REAL & SERIOUS ISSUE, should be looking for the COMMONALITIES and REALITY of those specifics, rather than ‘just vaped.’Because, now, and places like eBay, Amazon, and certain states are doing with their ‘stop sales,’ bans (partial or complete), and restrictions ON ADULTS … just because it ‘says VAPING’ - or ‘flavored’ is fundamentally wrong! There are too many illnesses…Far too spread out… 33 states of confirmed cases… totally 450 (known)… within just a few days. That is NOT VAPING problem, other than ‘juice’ - like herbal remedies - are grossly unregulated, and often misrepresented by the sellers who often haven’t any clue what they are actually selling. The deaths and illnesses are A PRODUCT PROBLEM! Not a ‘all vaping’ problem. Likely the THC/CBD mix, since 4 of the 5 dead were using that… but was it ‘the same brand’?? Same ‘raw base’?? Was it tainted, messed with, or poisoned in some way? (Other questions not answered). Curious if any of the people that have died have families that turned over their vaping gear - for testing? Same with those that got sick… what were the commonalities? As vaping has existed for nearly twenty years… really… and this is the first ‘mass problem’ directly tied to it. The media frenzy is similar to the tainted lettuce a few months ago, there is SOMETHING real, that is sure… but it doesn’t impact ALL vape users, or all e-juice, or all vape equipment.More honest and ethical science and fact finding is necessary… so the PROPER WARNINGS CAN HAPPEN, and less of the knee jerk stupidity of ‘bad everything’ because of an outbreak or deaths. NO ONE I know wants people to die or get sick. **Those of us that quit smoking because of vaping know the quality products are NOT GOING TO KILL YOU WHEN USED CORRECTLY! **https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2019/09/07/what-we-know-about-mysterious-vaping-linked-illnesses-deaths/?noredirect=onVitamin E now a focus of the investigation into some vaping illnessesCounterfeit Weed Vape Cartridges Are Everywhere — and They’re Making People Sick
