Kerala state donot have very large palaces to boast unlike Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh or UP or even nearby Karnataka (Mysore). We hardly have the concept of Palace as such comparable to North India, primarily because of our history and cultural values. Though a King’s residence was called Palace/Kottaram, Malayalee Royal codes and protocols were too different standard Indian royalty, thus almost 90% of such so-called Palaces in Kerala are nothing but stately Mansions/large houses as such, not lavish palaces. Kerala Royal customs in majority cases prohibit one single giant palace complex because the primary inheritance mode was quite different from other cultures.
