PDF Editor FAQ

What are some of the best real-life examples of "success is the best revenge"?

“I want to be a Government” He replied,The entire classroom of standard 2nd started laughing over his answer when teacher asked him “what you want to be in your life?”The 6 year old boy got really angry with the laughing kids. This is real incident of 2nd standard class of a municipality school located at very small village place called 'Nitane', which had a population of 1500 that time in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, It was the only school in the village, with only 4 class rooms in total , where villagers used to keep cattle post school hours .No doubt his answer was quite funny but there was a reason behind this answer. This kid was born in a poor farmer's family. One day while looking at ST bus , He asked his mother “Who is the owner of such large bus..? Mother replied - "Government". After few days, Pointing a finger at a Plane in the sky, He asked ,Who owns that plane? The innocent illiterate mother again replied - "The Government" and this left huge impact on his little brain. He was determined to become the government. This motivated him to study with true determination and work hard towards it, against all odds. After few years only ,due to a drought in his village when he was in standard 7th , he had to work as a labourer for wages of Rs 15 per week. He set a goal at early stage for himself that he will become part of government any how.In SSC days despite very adverse condition he secured “2nd position” in the center."Then with lots of hopes He opted for science stream for XI but the situation got worse as there was no college nearby. He got admitted to the boarding at Satane, which was located 23 kms away from his house which was the only option. Even though In highly complicated situation his family paid fees in the form of 3.5 sacks of wheat. In 12th, He studied extremely hard and succeed to score 85% but even then it seemed that God wanted to test him even further . The only available medical college for 8 district that time was BJ medical college of Pune and he lost admission to that college just by 1 Percent. In such adverse circumstances, his father finally got frustrated and with heavy heart he expressed that 'farming' is the only option and told him to give up his education. With a heavy heart he accepted this “U” turn of life as a challenge and became Full-time farmer. Every single drop of his sweat on the field constantly reminded him about his main goal of life and he had lots of sleepless nights . At times he used to feel that standard 2nd classroom is laughing at him.One day he had a dispute with father while he was working in the field & that point of time he took bold decision of leaving farming. He told his father that he will not continue and he will not take any kind of further help from him. He left the farm but here his anger turned into determination. He saw an advertisement of Osmania Open University in a news paper and decided to complete his graduation in B.A. through distance learning program. He borrowed Rs 350 from his mother and without wasting time he obtained admission for B.A. The stubborn boy cleared all the 21 written exams and graduated within a year. Then he started taking efforts towards his main goal. He further gathered every details of various competition examinations. He spent days and nights and studied really hard for his first MPSC attempt. He cleared the MPSC exam for the post of PSI by securing rank 13 in Maharashtra. In addition, He also appeared for the "Combined Defense Services Exam" (CDS) and He secured “The second highest number in India" .But this fellow did not stop and he started preparing for examination for the post of Deputy superintendent of police without breaking the bar.As part of preparation he met ex-teachers, several friends, some acquaintances & also visited few libraries to collect study material for this exam, He merely spent Rs 70 on books purchases for this exam. With No special training , No coaching classes, No guidance, No help, No Mentor support this boy continued to study without giving up. In such a dire situation he secured “2nd position“ amongst thousands of examinee from Maharashtra.“ Try Try but Don’t Cry “ At the age of 22, this young man became the “Deputy Superintendent of Police. After joining the force, He put his heart and soul for his duty. Yet again that did not refrain him from studying. Simultaneously he also completed another course in Psychology. He used to give maximum time for his duty. As a matter of fact he worked even for 18 hours a day ,everyday for one of the extremely sensitive case of 1993 bombings. In the same case while interrogating a terrorist called Faki Ali ; Entire department tried everything to break him, but he refused to open his mouth. Then this man just calmly went to him and said if he didn’t start talking, they will be going to bring his entire family to the station to watch him suffer & with this brilliant move , His behaviour shifted and within 10 minutes he had given the location of 30,000 rounds of AK56 bullets, hand grenades and guns. ( This is how his studies in Psychology helped him.) It was biggest achievement against terrorism and It was one of the largest recovery in India .Later on he dealt with Numerous crimes and Critical cases intelligence and bravery. He always focused on reducing crime rate with his brilliant plan of action and he was extremely successful to reduce the crime rate significantly in his each posting ; He ensured that every staff under him must understand value of team work and to be responsible and disciplined at same time. The government honored him with various accolades for his work pattern & achievements but he always passed credit to team members. He always believed in giving credit to team members and taking ownership of blames. In addition to cultivating a persistent learning attitude, he became an "IPS".Not only that; This extraordinary man also got selected for special commando training in the United States of America ,He won Gold medal in "Strategic Planning” during that training and he was honored by the “Federal Law Entrance of The United States” which was another proud moment for Indians. The best part was; He went to the Untied States with his mother and she was very worried with the thought that “How her son will be going to manage in The United States ?” as she never saw her son dealing with English language before but further She saw her son speaking at "United Nations". with terrific confidence. After 90 min speech of this small town man from Maharashtra got back to back round of applause in the hall of United Nations general assembly. This is the story of his journey from Farmer to IPS.This is the story of his real life battle. This is the story of IPS & IGP Pratap Dighavkar. He literally slapped them all with his inspiring struggle and success. This slap was for all the students who laughed over him in that classroom of standard 2nd.This slap was for all the people who made fun of his dreams when he was farmer. This slap is for those who give up in tough situations."Success is the Best Revenge" isn’t it ?Even further, He helped his school of his village where he studied. He raised 25 Lacs of funds for school development and for needy students who want to appear for MPSC/UPSC. He started special coaching centre in the same school for MPSC/UPSC students. ( Currently more than 300 students are taking benefit of this facility)He showed his gratitude towards department by taking an initiative to build dream houses especially for police constables and for their widows by proposing scheme to the Govt. of 10000 flats at Panvel, Maharashtra. He approached Government of India with detailed report, followed the process. Identified & acquired land of 120 Acres with due permissions, He took all the necessary efforts so that thousands of needy police constables/their widows can get their own dream house at a subsidised rate.He did not forget that he was farmer once. He planted and maintained over 2 lacs trees so far. Ministry of Forest took a note of this spectacular work and Honoured him with highest grade award of this segment. His message for us is “Dream big , Be Confident and Don't Stop.“His struggle will inspire us forever .“क्यू मरते है सनम के लियेमरना है तो मरो वतन के लियेजिंदगी मे करो कुछ ऐसा कामतिरंगा नीचे आये तुम्हारे कफन के लिये..”

How was your IIM Ahmedabad interview?

CAT: 99.99 %ileX: 96.71%XII: 89%B.Com: 6.88/7CA: All India Rank 8 in Foundation(My full IIMA resume available here)Date: Feb 7, 2016Venue: The Orchid, MumbaiWe were asked to bring our filled interview form, all degree certificates, work experience papers, co-curricular and extracurricular certificates, along with an ID proof. The first round was the Written Ability Test, followed by the interview round. I was scheduled to go 4th in my interview panel.WAT Topic: We were presented with a ~150-word excerpt on an NGO wasting money on meeting in five stars and not doing anything for the people, and how NGOs are not effective. The excerpt suggested that the government should be doing something for the people as it’s their job. It also mentioned that emotional advertising is ineffective. We were then asked to share our opinions on the except, the role of NGOs, and whether they were desirable in society. My write-up: My write-up started with the point that money wasted on preventable overheads can be applied to change a life for the poor, and hence NGOs, must be held accountable for wasteful expenses. I also mentioned that in some situations even the best-intentioned NGOs might lack the awareness and reach to create change where an effective government is best placed to step in, but there might be leakages there too. There are few people who provide selfless service (e.g. Nunneries) but the rest are not infallible. As for emotional advertising, I opined that it might add value by mobilising those who were previously unaffected by the issues.Overall, I was quite happy with my balanced views and managed to make a decent case in my write-up.Interview Experience: My panel consisted of 2 male professors in their 30s. They were quite friendly and made me feel comfortable. One prof was doing most of the talking, while the other was silent but listening in. I had prepped for my interview, but was still nervous.PART 1: CA deep diveProf: Hello Ruchi, you seem to have a great academic record, we see that you also have a CA rank!Me: (I smiled and nodded)P: What was the rank for, can you explain?Me: This was for the Foundation course, it’s also called CPT.P: Which CA firm did you do your articleship at?Me: (I mentioned the mid-size firm I was interning at, no further discussion)P: Can you tell us what is depreciation? What is its purpose?Me: Depreciation is the value lost on an asset due to wear and tear, obsolescence (explained some basic points)P: From a future point of view, what is more important - Balance Sheet or Profit and Loss statement?Me: (expecting some sort of a trick) They’re both important and indicate the change form the position last year.P: No, you have to choose one.Me: From a future perspective, the balance sheet would be more helpful as it indicated the financial position at the end of the year and the values we carry forward.P: Yes, balance sheet is right.PART 2: Maharashtra PoliticsP: Who is the CM of Maharashtra?Me: Devendra FadnavisP: What is his constituency?Me: Nagpur, no Nashik - No, Nagpur. (It was Nagpur)P: Who is the Governor of Maharashtra?Me: I don’t remember the full name, it’s something Rao…P: Is it Vidyasagar Rao?Me: (unsure of the first name, not wanting to bluff) I don’t recall exactly, sir.P: Why was the Gateway of India constructed?Me: (Being a big Mumbai history buff, I explained with all details, George V and how the foundation stone was only laid when he arrived. Thoroughly enjoyed this answer)P: Should Maharashtra be split? Why is this topic discussed?Me: This topic comes up because of the resource discrepancy in developed regions vs underdeveloped regions like Vidharbha. (I also explained that we must test the administrative efficiency on the ground and detach from any emotional attachment before taking a decision that can potentially help millions)P: What are your views about the coalition between BJP and Shiv Sena? (This question is especially ironic in today’s Maharashtra political battlefield!)Me: There is a divergence in their ideologies and viewpoints, but it is a very old coalition. They are managing their differences.PART 3: Hobbies and fun!P: What are your hobbies?Me: (Spoke about my fondness for reading and my writing experience as the Editor-in-Chief of my college magazine)P: What type of books do you like?Me: I flit between genres, non-fiction and fiction. Outliers and Hunger Games are both favourites.P: Thanks for your time, Ruchi. Have a candy!Me: (I thanked them, chose a greenish mentos and left, smiling)The interview lasted 15–20 minutes, and was quite enjoyable. I was happy with my answers, and there were no glitches. I later jotted down my interview experience in my personal notes - Indeed those are the notes that I am referring to write this account!A few weeks later, I learned that I received the admission! In another pleasant coincidence, both the professors who were my interviewers were also my teachers in my first term itself, and were mentors for me on my IIMA journey!Ruchi Aggarwal

Yes you can but you must be really determined for it if u wish to do smthg..even I had similar goal and I did I had an idea of making maps which can be readable even by illiterate people!I worked hard for 1.5 year from 16-17 of my age.. and outcome- I convinced government officials to allow me to set up my maps for KumbhMela hosted by my City 'Nashik' so people could navigate better and guess what!
