However, there are few things that are common and are required by most of the countries (I guess).Step 0:I started with a search online about the Pet requirement in India and found this USDA website https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel/ This website have answers of most of your questions.Step 1:Vaccination Record: Make sure your pet has given required shots (recent) and are well documented. Take this document(s) along with you when you visit Vet for Health Certificate. Also, do check with destination country’s Animal Quarantine dept by sending an email whether they want whole vaccination record or just the recent one.Step 2:Health Certificate: You will find the form for the Health Certificate on the USDA website. This form need to be filled by the Veterinarian who examines your pet. This document is going to be the Health Certificate once filled by Vet and then stamped by USDA. Don’t forget to ask the Vet if he/she is USDA approved Vet. One more thing, note down the weight of your dog, you will need that when book airline ticket.MicrochipMy dog already had microchip implanted on his neck. So, I was bit relaxed. I am not sure if it is required or not, but you will find a column asking about microchip number on the Health Certificate. One more thing, it is always a good idea to have microchip implanted in your dog because by doing this it is easier/quicker for Animal Quarantine dept people to identify your dog at the airport.Step 3:Health Certificate Endorsement: Once you get the Health Certificate filled and signed by the Vet then you need to visit USDA to get it endorsed. Check their website for the location near you.Step 4:At this stage, you need to buy an IATA approved crate for your pet. Go to http://www.pettravel.com/ for the information related to dog crate requirement. Once you have the information (LxWxH) about the crate which is best for your dog. Call the airlines in which you want to travel, let them know you are taking dog with you. As far as I remember, first you need to book your ticket and then need to call customer care to book “pet in cargo”. You can check with airlines. Don’t forget to search internet for people’s experience about their pet in airlines cargo. I would highly recommend Lufthansa airlines, rest is up to you or up to the services.Step 5:Once you booked your ticket and pet in cargo then you need to send an email with these details, vaccination record, Health Certificate and other things to destination country Animal Quarantine dept for obtaining NOC. Once they verified all documents then they will send you provisional NOC on email. Once you reached at destination country then you need to handover Original Health Certificate to Animal Quarantine dept.Check the websites that I mentioned above as they proved to be very useful when I traveled from US to India, my dog is of medium size and traveled in airline cargo. I arranged everything by myself and hasn’t faced any problem in the process. One more thing, when I was at Vet in US for Health Certificate I informed the Vet that my dog have high anxiety issue and she prescribed a tablet taken an hour before boarding the plane which I am sure worked very well.Some countries also required stool, saliva test of a pet so that need to be check with the destination.I think I covered most of the stuff. Yes the landlord can terminate your lease and/ or increase your rent.A ESA has to be approved of before getting the animal or moving in.There is no such thing as a certified Emotional Support Animal…you bought a junk certifical online that you thought would let you keep your pet.Not all landlords are bound by HUD laws. Those that are require you follow the proper processes.A ESA letter must be provided by your in state licenced Mental health provider that is treating you in a ongoing manner. The letter must be on office letterhead and state you have an eligible diagnosis listed in the DSM and that the ESA is part of effective treatment…the letter must be renewed every year. Landlords also can require health certificates up to date shot records as well.AGAIN many small landlords are exempt from HUD laws and can just say NO

If your apartment is excempt from HUD/FHA laws they can and they can even refuse your ESA.If they are bound by FHA laws they can not…however they can require annual letters on office letterhead from YOUR currently treating licenced Mental Heath Provider stating you have a serious qualifying mental issue listed in the DSM and that the ESA is a effective part of your ongoing treatment + proof of current licence + current health certificate for the animal.I have found since requiring the documentation at each lease renewal not a single tenent out of 18 have produced it and have all moved to “ pet freindly” housing.If you are one of those who really need a ESA the costs of the documentation ( in my area approx 1100.00 a year based on what my renters have reported in co pays for ongoing therapy and vet visits/ shots) will not be a issue.If you are a faker who purchased a certificate online to force landlords who operated no pet housing to accept your pet…shame on you and I hope you are not suprized at the HIGH costs of dander removal you will have to pay at move out time.
