What are the kinds of moss being used to develop a moss wall? Are there any indoor moss plants as well?

We use three different kinds of moss sourced from North Carolina and Kentucky and then preserved using a paraffin process. We use:sheet mosspillow mossreindeer mossWe like to choose the type of moss that best suits the project and we provide our clients with samples. We essentially “paint” with moss so choosing the right color and texture is vital. Does typing ability/speed/technique affect adoption of EMR by physicians?

I wholeheartedly agree with David. I'm not a physician but we use an EHR at the mental health clinic I work at, and even though I type at ~90wpm, the EHR slows me and the clinicians down significantly. It's actually not just the worst EHR I've used. It's one of the most poorly designed applications I've ever used, period. The fact is, many EHR vendors are trying to take a workflow that is paper-based and transfer it to the computer without really thinking about how their design integrates with the traditional workflow of a medical office. For example, I might take a full set of vitals on a patient, and I will have the laptop open next to me. In this application, there are fields for:heightweightsitting bpstanding bplying bpsitting HRstanding HRlying HRtemperatureO2 sata box for notesNow that all seems great. Except for the fact that we never measure height and weight, when you take blood pressure, the patient is usually sitting down, and we don't measure O2 sat or respiratory rate here. Even if we did, there really seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the fields are organized and set up in the EMR itself. It hurts my eyes just looking at it.Even after doing it hundreds of times, it still takes me a few seconds to get my bearings and find the right fields to type my values in.And how long would it have taken me to fill out a vitals sheet by hand? About 15 seconds. It's smooth, it's fast, and at a glance I can see exactly what information I need to see.Contrast this with using the application, which takes me ~ 1-2 minutes. It makes the process 3-4 times longer, and it breaks my focus and workflow, forcing me to take attention away from the patient who might be talking to me about something important. All of what I described is the tip of the iceberg - that's just the vitals form - there's medication ordering, clinical notes, task management - holy hell, the list just goes on and on, each feature designed more poorly than the last, slowing down workflow and in some cases, genuinely hurting us by obfuscating the information that we need and sequestering it into tabs we can't find. One more thing. I consider myself a digital native. I was born and raised in the Silicon Valley and my parents both work in the tech industry. I grew up using MS-DOS, and I remember how great it was when I finally got Windows 3.1 with a nice GUI. I've built a computer a couple of times, and I know how to upgrade hardware. I've owned both PCs and Macs, and I have a rooted Android phone and a Jailbroken Ipod touch. I have been using computers. All. My. Life. But I absolutely hate using the EMR at our workplace. It's an industry that is admittedly trying to grow out of an age where EMRs used to be silo'd and there was no such thing as cloud computing or web 2.0. However, it really doesn't excuse bad design and implementation.Low adoption of EMRs/EHRs by physicians is not due to slow typing speed. The problem is not with the physicians - it's with the designers. There are simply no well designed EMR systems that do a good job of integrating a natural workflow and organizing information in ways that are useful to the physicians and their staff. I consider myself a technologist and I want EMR's to work, believe me - but we have a lot of work ahead of us before they can fulfill the role we want them to.

What do you think about the United States taking aim at China's biggest chipmaker?

Great way to encourage China to ‘go it alone’ and when that happens the US no longer has a market for their ICs.I know China is behind but when they put serious effort into something they consider vital to their progress they create what is needed and then start to sell those products in competition to every other chipmaker in the world.China gets better and wealthier while everyone else faces new competition that weakens their balance sheets and the nations where they reside.
