What was the name and rank of the head nurse in the hit comedy TV series M.A.S.H.?

Major Margaret J "Hot Lips" Houlihan appears in the novel, the film (played by Sally Kellerman), and the TV series (Loretta Swit). She is the regular-army head nurse of the 4077th, and begins allied with Major Frank Burns against the more civilian doctors of the unit. When the television series M*A*S*H started, Linville signed a five-year contract. ... After five seasons, Linville felt that he had taken the Frank Burns character, which had become increasingly one-dimensional in the show's blend of comedy and drama, as far as he could and chose to leave the series to pursue other roles. Go to my Profile and you can find all about Nurse material there...

What drove you batshit crazy after you enlisted in the armed forces?

The cover ups by the medical people. I ~had~ to be ok. The illegal order I followed could ~never~ have happened. It would have been a career ender for the chain of command.Instead of allowing me time to fully recover, the ridiculous “check ups” put me behind every single time. When I got stationed at an Air Force Base, they wouldn't touch me. I did rehab on my own. By the time I got an appointment at an Army base (Fort Sam Houston), I was so damn close.I told the doctor I was slamming the sit-ups and running. My only concern was that I was considered “out of uniform” when I wore the Class A skirt because my skirt refused to hang evenly, I had trouble going up stairs, and I couldn't keep my pelvis straight during push-ups. I just needed some answers and specific exercises to make my skirt straight, keep my pelvis straight during push-ups, and going up stairs. He examined me by having me sit cross legged on the table. He placed his hands on each knee and told me to relax, he just needed to see the difference between my strength in both legs. He was going to be gentle.I inhaled and closed my eyes, relaxing my body on the exhale. He brought both knees to the table. I heard the same snap I heard during the first time I was injured. The pain was white hot.He cancelled my profile, so I was immediately responsible for completing a PT test. He cancelled all my prescriptions. Turned on his heel and left.My left leg was nearly useless. I had to use my hands to move my leg. I hobbled to the car where my battle buddy Ron had parked in front of the door.I was sweating and shaking. Her fiancé, Mike, was in Special Forces. He got me some whiskey for the pain. I was so mad. How much time was it going to take to get back to full readiness?Turns out, never. The drive from San Antonio to San Angelo is long. I don't even remember it. Whiskey took me out.I missed morning formation and PT. I slept and slept. I put on my civilian clothes and went downstairs, slowly. In agony with a leg I had to drag, I knocked on my CO's office door. He invited me in.I hobbled in and stood at attention. He was confused and pissed off. He ordered me to empty my left pocket. I pulled out the pocket of my 501’s.He told me to show him the ball tucked into my jeans. I dropped my pants and lifted my shirt. My left leg was so swollen it was gross to see. The captain came out from behind his desk.He asked what happened, peppered with angry Army words. I told him.He began an investigation against the doctor. (It went nowhere. There was no one else in the exam room. The doctor denied it all, insisting that I was 100% good when he last saw me.)The CO started making phone calls to God and everyone.I was sent back to Fort Sam. This time I saw the head of the department. Dr. Greenfield. I took every test under the sun. Greenfield reminded me of Hawkeye from M*A*S*H*.After days (weeks?) of testing, he sat down across from me. He explained that the muscles, ligament, and tendons were like bubble gum that had been chewed so long that not only did it lose its elasticity, but it started to disentegrate. My career in the Army was over. One hip was ~three inches~ higher than the other. All the structural muscles had given way. He explained that he didn't know if I could ever heal, but that I certainly would not heal as long as I was in the Army.Inept medical care got on my fuckin' nerves.

What is a tour of duty? Can anyone join the armed forces?

Dear friends from the age group of 17 to 42,I will try to clear all doubts related to the” Tour of Duty “ circulated through social media since the last few weeks by Question and answer method in two or three parts. This is first part of the question and answer series.Vast numbers of the Indian youth have listened and reacted very positively with lots of doubts in mind. My endeavour to address this issue in Broadway rather than a piecemeal answer. Because I have replied more three questions through this medium, however, I feel that it is an inadequate answer to youth who has minimal knowledge about the Army.( NOTE- This text of mine is based on my personal understanding after watching a number of information available in the media circle. Hence, my information will consider as guidance only)Firstly, I am addressing all age group between 17 to 42 whether just completed 10th class or for the doctor who has more than ten years of experience. All of you (means male and women) should read this article and discuss with your friends for better understanding.Secondly,” Tour of Duty” is an idea, discussion point and study at a high level especially in army circle based on overwhelming request and response from young youth who are looking Army as a fantastic organization because of its nature of duty and reliability of performance. As you all know, the Army will call where all other organizations fail to perform. It is because of the devotion, dedication, sincerity, patriotism hard work to fulfil the responsibilities above self.Thirdly, Tour of duty is a new entry to part of 13 lakhs plus strong Army spread over across India. The modalities of the entrance are still in discussion, and it may take time to implement in the ground. However, I will briefly explain what I understood the idea of Tour of duty based on the press address by CDS and COAS.Fourthly, I will only discuss related to the impact on ordinary citizens and not for the financial saving of the state exchequer by implementing the scheme shortly, if approved.Fifthly, there are two categories of human resources present in Army namely Officers, selected by a written exam, service selection board and medical test and Officers below officer ranks recruited by written test, physical test and medical test.Sixthly, NO WRITTEN test for both categories that mean no UPSC test for aspirants for officers and no written test for Officers below rank(Conducted by Recruiting establishment).Seventhly, all other selection procedures are the same as regular and short service entry in the Army including physical standards.Eighthly, I will try to answer all your doubts other than above as per details given below in a Question and Answer method to understand better and simple:-Q- What is Tour of duty?A- Tour of duty is a proposed entry scheme in the Army for only THREE years of employment including 6–9 months training at Regimental /officers academies with regular army trainees and remaining service in field areas including broader areas.Q- Who can join Army through Tour of Duty?A- All physically fit, mentally tough and medically capable (to undertake rigorous training) Man and Women of the Indian citizen, Nepal origin can join Army through Tour of Duty.Q- How can I apply for Tour of Duty?A- You will come to know about the terms and conditions including all details of employability and method of applying by print media and army web site. This entire process is very transparent and straightforward to undertake by any individual who has working knowledge of English, Hindi and basic idea about a computer.Q- Does the Army allows MBBS graduate to join Tour of Duty?A- Doctors are the most premium category and motivational factor for the soldiers, especially in field or combat zone. Therefore MBBS graduate with adequate practical experience is always welcome in the armed force. MBBS graduate can join Army with age relaxation till 42 years and appointed as Captain with two years of service seniority after successful completion of a maximum of three weeks orientation training at an initially posted station army hospital.Q- Does Tour of Duty effects the CDS or UPSC entry examination?A-No. The vacancies and terms & conditions of Tour of Duty are different. Hence, No effect of UPSC & CDS entry into the Army.Q-Is it voluntary entry or selection?A- Defense force service in India is always voluntary, and the same applies to Tour of Duty too.Q- Can NCC cadets join into Army through Tour of Duty?A- Yes. The NCC cadets based on their qualification and NCC certificate can join the Army through Tour of duty either Soldier or Officer.Q- Does the Tour of Duty affect other existing entries?A- No. Because Tour of duty is only for three years, including the training period. However, all other officers entry will count their service only after commissioning. The other entry officers and the man below officer rank will undergo a specialized course. But most probably the individual from Tour of Duty will straightway induct into combat or field area for the remaining period of three years within individual educational qualifications.Q – Will it affect vacancy of NDA/IMA in the long run?A- I think a large number of vacancy exists in the Army due to continued pension/discharge of man in uniform. Therefore the individual from Tour of duty is an advantage and supporting hand for the officer functioning with short of human resources.Q- How would three years of military service policy change the Indian army profile.A- This three years service policy may win to win situation for the Army because of the non-liability, and non-commitment upon the individual joined in the Army. Due to continued and increase intake of the individual through Tour of duty may affect Indian Army profile in the long run. However, I think the ground feedback will be obtained once the first batch inducted into the Army.Q- What is the fitness level of a civilian who wants to join Tour of duty?A- Indian Army is operating in the different geographical area from Leh to Kannnnyakumari, and therefore no substandard physical and mental inabilities can be accepted. The individual looking for joining in the Army will start practising now onwards.Dear friends,The second part of Question and Answer regarding this subject will discuss shortly.Happy reading and take care and stay safe.

People Want Us

Please don't make the same mistake I did. I chose CocoDoc to recover lost photos on my android. I paid $44 us dollars and the service did not work. Not even close. I contacted them the next day for a refund (they claim a full refund within 7 days, 100 percent). After 13 emails in total over 5 days I gave up. I'm sure this is exactly what they wanted. So, no photos recovered still and $44 poorer. Don't do it. Total scam.
