Dress code dilemma: Should wearing leggings in school be forbidden? —Answer: If your school has a dress code in effect that prohibits the wearing of leggings, then the answer is no.It seem like girls have always been getting more infractions than boys. Dress codes in schools are often unfairly aimed at them and base on the assumption that girls can control themselves whereas boys must have extra help to control their raging hormones.The new dress codes in some schools oblige the students to wear leggings or yoga pants only if their tops cover the entire buttocks.These new school rules caused parents, students, and even some teachers (who thought that the leggings/yoga pants rule goes too far) to sign petition against it. Their revolt is directed towards sexualizing young girls, which results with an after effect that is not healthy for our society in any way.Indeed the message is that girls should be responsible for protecting themselves from sexual predators, rather than emphasizing the importance of consent no matter how someone is dressed, especially if students have good grades and get to class on time.

What would you have him do, since both shooting people and having a gun at a school were already illegal in the first place?Seriously, think about that. If the shooter was willing to break those laws, what law do you think they wouldn’t have ignored? You don’t think they would also be willing to break acquisition and carry laws?In every other crime we don’t blame the weapon. If a drunk gets behind the wheel and crashes into people, we blame the individual - we don’t demand more regulations on cars or petition to make drinking glasses smaller. If someone goes on a stabbing spree, we don’t call for regulation of knives and the elimination of high capacity knife sets. Why does anyone need five different knives? One knife is enough!Hell, if someone were to hunt people with a bow and arrow, would we be calling for regulations on bows and taxes on arrows? Ban quills maybe?Yet whenever the weapon is a gun, we throw common sense out the window and activate stupid mode. It makes no sense.This is going to keep happening until people are willing to start doing something about the cause of the behavior, and be prepared to defend ourselves against the ones we don’t catch. Had a teacher or two been armed, they could potentially have eliminated the threat earlier. And if the shooter knew teachers were armed, they probably wouldn’t have done it in the first place. A gun doesn’t have to be fired to be a deterrent - sometimes the mere presence of it is all it takes.For those of you who say dumb things like “Oh, but we shouldn’t make teachers get guns”, no one is saying we should. Every gun owner will agree that someone who doesn’t feel comfortable with a gun should NEVER be required to have one.But if a teacher wanted to, why not let them?If Trump is going to “do something”, what he should do is end gun-free zones. Because this kind of stuff only happens in them.

Today I read one of the funniest petitions of all time.Remove 75% Attendance Bar in Graduate Colleges.[1][1][1][1]I got a Whatsapp message from an engineering graduate who wanted me to sign this petition. So, let’s start.75% Minimum Attendance is currently required in all graduate colleges of India to qualify to Answer the semester exams.I agree. 75% attendance should be mandatory in every college.This causes immense pressure on the students of attending and also completing the immense project work/assignment required to be submitted.What is the pressure you are talking about? Just tell me one thing, what is the main motto of higher education?Ultimately to get one decent job.During job you can’t get the facilities like mass bunk and 25% shortage of attendance in office. If you will not perform, then your job is at stake.Those students who are demanding for this petition to be signed are the ones who copy their assignments while submitting.It is difficult for you to attend 8 hours of classes with 25% leaves. Okay jokes apart.What are the extra curricular activities which you want to take part in, which can’t be completed in the slab of 25%?Playing PUBG?Yeah PUBG requires teamwork and leadership.But I want to remind you that once I was an engineering student too, I know how people waste their time in gaming in the hostels. During my time Counter Strike and Age of Empire were popular.But, I never felt that there was any need to reduce my attendance.This compulsion has to be ended or atleast reduced to 50% to reduce the pressure on the students. The students are responsible enough to make their own decisions on which classes to attend and which to not attend.This is the most favorite part.Yes, you are responsible enough for your future.You are responsible enough when you can’t manage to grab one job.You are responsible enough when your classmates leave you behind.You are responsible enough to waste your parent’s hard earned money for your so called “extra curricular activity”.This is the most common mistake students make during university. They don’t want to understand the essence of time.Before taking admission in a university, they live in a fairy tale. Because this is what Bollywood has presented in our society via “Student of the Year”[2][2][2][2], “Kuch Kuch Hota hai”[3][3][3][3] etc.And when they come, reality is far different from their expectations.If you don’t want to attend your classes and want to sign this petition, please ask your parents to sign it, becauseYou are not paying your college fees, they are.You have no idea what the outer world looks like.If you think your assignments, work, and extra curricular activity is getting hampered even after getting 25% leaves, then, I would love to see your struggle in the corporate world.This petition is funny and stupid as well.
