What is the best way to educate children about the system of racism?

Making African American history a part of American history and not wash it down to one month of the year (shortest). After taking an African American studies course in undergrad, I still could not figure out why most textbooks took out huge chunks of history. Medgar Evers was never mentioned, the effects of segregation, redlining, sweeping details of Malcolm X’s death etc.BUT.During my AP US History class, “President Abraham Lincoln was shot in the head for his stance on slavery” etc. Why go over details of man who passed nearly 150 plus years ago, but we can’t go over what lead to Malcolm’s death?A lot of young African American men would be startled at the great lengths of what other leaders had to go through during segregation. Medgar Evers had to be ESCORTED to school at Ole Miss because of constant death threats and whites wanted this man gone dead from attending their school. This is just an example and persistency that isn’t emphasized at all in school. We always see Dr. King, Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X, and a lot of people (even today) think it was a handful of people who risked their life for us.Mr. Evers’ actions warrant himself to be in every textbook in grade school across America and in college. It should be noted that White Supremacy is real, and has been around for a very long time and it won’t be going anywhere. It won’t go anywhere until you decide to learn about African American history. We’ve gotten the run down on “white history” from being tested about the “founding fathers,” WWII, Vietnam, and the Bill Clinton.Make black history month 365 days out of the year.

Have there been any successful rappers (traditional hip hop) who didn't come from a broken home or grow up in the ghetto?

Why Do Our Customer Attach Us

Hands-down the best experience, I have had with editing PDF files online! CocoDoc.com provides so many options and alternative methods in making sure your files end up how you want them to. The best thing about it is that you can do so much even for a free subscription (no logins necessary either)! Although there's a limit per hour on how much editing you can do, that's a small price to pay in comparison to other platforms that request so many irksome details before you can get that e-signature on your document. Not to mention, the user interface of the website is so sophisticated and easy-to-follow that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to my boss for his own use. Awesome work CocoDoc team! More power to you guys.
