For non payment? Yes.Can a mechanic refuse to release your vehicle because you have chosen not to repair safety related/dangerous damage problems to your vehicle? As long as you pay your bill, No.Could a mechanic choose to release your overly dangerous vehicle in a non running condition? Forcing you to have it towed or flat bedded out? Yes and I have done that multiple times over the last 30 years.Most recently a customer whose brakes were failing. The brakes would not grab. When the problem was tracked down to a $700 ABS component, he said he would take it as is. And that he had been riding like that for weeks. I explained to my boss that if the customer was allowed to ride the motorcycle out, no matter what waiver the customer signed, we as the experts had said the motorcycle was safe to ride.(I attend every Liability Seminar that the Harley-Davidson Motor Company holds that I can get to. Even over my mechanical training.)Even if a customer pushes his non running motorcycle off your property, something as simple as loaning them the tools to make it a runner again, while not fixing the problem, is treated by the courts as the same as releasing the unrepaired dangerous motorcycle for riding.Harley-Davidson’s legal department has multiple examples of each of these liability lawsuits that were lost by the dealerships in question. And at every seminar I have attended at least 2 additional dealerships would stand to relate what happened to them for every variation.In the USA, in this day and age of my lawyer can beat up your lawyer, any opening for a liability lawsuit is just asking for trouble.

The hard working people of these three states have been royally duped.Now why do I say so.What these three governments have done is ONLY to declare that they are waiving the loans of the farmers with a lot of ifs and buts, the worst being the cut off date of 31/03/2018. This cut-off is farcical, to say the least.The farmers have not taken loan from the government. They have taken it from the lending institutions. The lending institutions have not made any declaration, nor do I think that they will make one either.Waiver of loans by government requires that the government underwrites the loan book of the lender institutions. There is no other option. This can only be done through the budget of the government. So till the budgets come out there can be no clarity on how the waiver is being attempted. Whether it being done from the surplus of the budget (Am I joking?) or new taxes are being proposed or more loans are being sought by the state governments to bridge the gap will be known once the budget comes out.The following is certain however.If the government does not provide for the buying off the loans then it will continue to show in the books of the lenders. There is no law which can wish them away.With the loans continuing to show in the books of the lenders, the non-servicing of the loans will be making the loanees ineligible for any further borrowings. And it will severely curtail the lending abilities of the lenders.Non-servicing of the loans will mean poor credit rating, which will ensure that the farmers will be ineligible for loans on tractors/motorcycles/home etc.If the government provides for the paying off the lenders then there will be less amount to provide for roads, water, electricity and MSP to the farmers and all other welfare measures of the government, including education and health. So such waiver will hit the farmers and with them the rest of the population in all aspects of good governance.The Congress government has reduced the MSP from the present 2000/quintal to 1840/quintal. The impact has started to come. This means a per acre loss of 10000 to the farmers per year.So, good luck to the hard working people of these three states. They have been royally duped.

Connor, I currently have Marines in my unit with waivers for felony charges. You can absolutely join the Marine Corps with a couple misdemeanors.Here’s my follow on advice. The mentality that caused you to get those two misdemeanors, lose it! Realize that once your in the Corps, a big mistake like that will cost you a lot more than just Court fees. It can result in an Other Than Honorable Discharge. And that my friend, will stay will you for the rest of your life.I have a Marine in my unit that came in with a a couple waivers for a felony charge because he attempted to elude police on his motorcycle and several misdemeanor charges.Those waivers had ZERO impact on his ability to excel as a Marine. But here is when they came into play. Last month, he attempted to elude North Carolina Highway Patrol when they tried to pull him over for doing 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. That day ended with him in jail. His motorcycle confiscated. And four citations.80 in a 55.Not pulling over for blue and sirens.143 in a 55!And last but not least. Felony eluding.Now I have a 20 year old Marine who’s life just started, Military career just started, and it’s all coming to a bad end. He’s been reduced in rank, fined half a months pay for two months, and he’s on restriction for the next 60 days (He has to present himself in uniform every two hours to the Marine on Post at the command from 0600 6 a.m. until 2200 10 p.m. and is not allow off base during the 60 day restriction. Worst of all, he facing an Adminstrative Separation for “Commissoon of a Serious Offense” and will be back home with an Other Than Honorable Discharge within the next couple months.He came in the Corps to get away from the BS and make something of himself, and ONE night, ONE bad decision will now stay with him for the rest of his life.If you’re joining the Corps, I hope you’ve outgrown those poor decisions, because we won’t put up with it.
