PDF Editor FAQ

Does the French Foreign Legion accept medical waivers from other militaries?

Do not think so. All medical issues in the French military are handled by the Service de santé des armées. Even French civilian medical waivers are not taken into consideration, let alone those from foreign armies. At a time when FFL recruitment is such that only 1 in 8/10 applicants will make the cut, the Légion can afford to be, and is, very selective.

Has a little person ever been admitted to the Marines?

Probably...At the moment the minimum hight (for a medical waiver) is 4ft 8 inches for a male, which is the exact threshold for Dwarfism. There are probably one or two who have been admitted in the US Marines with medical waivers.Currently, the shortest male Marine I can find in a google search is 5ft 6, but that article is only on one platoon. I have comments suggesting there is at least one 5ft 1 Marine with a medical waiver. There are personnel in all branches with medical waivers who are around that height, but I do not think there is a single one shorter than that (at least without shoes on). This is the Air Force 4 years after the branch was created. Here's a youtube interview with the smallest sailor in the US Navy (at 4 ft 8):You would probably not be able to get any combat job with that height. You need a medical waiver just to get in.Here are the height and weight requirements for the various branches:Marine Corps Weight Limits At a GlanceNavy Weight Requirements At a GlanceU.S. Army Weight RequirementsAir Force Height and Weight StandardsCoast Guard Weight Requirements At a Glance

Am I eligible for the military with a history of PTSD?

No, you are not eligible, to the best of my knowledge. If you have a medical history of PTSD you will have to get a medical waiver. If you try to hide your medical history and it is discovered, since the USMC will pull your record prior to your enlistment at MEPS, you may be charged with fraudulent enlistment.
