What are classes you regret not taking during your time at Harvard?

Oh God, so many. Highlights:Math 21 (linear algebra)Stats 110MCB52 (molecular biology)MCB115 (neurons)I don't remember its name, but there was a philosophy class on mereology, using biological examples like slime molds and results from neuroscience to examine how we think about parts vs. wholes. It sounded really cool.Engineering Sciences 53 : Quantitative PhysiologyBiomedical Engineering 125: Tissue EngineeringHEB 1210: Research in Comparative BiomechanicsHEB 1419: Lab MethodsWith several exceptions, the underlying theme is that I wish I'd learned more skills and less information. A lot of my classes were memorization-heavy... which I'm good at. In retrospect, I didn't challenge myself enough. The classes I most enjoyed were ones with hands-on skills components. Charles Nunn's class SLS21: Evolutionary Medicine starts you off in R, and teaches you both fun and useful applications for it. Orgo kicked the hell out of me, but I always enjoyed lab. HEB 1325: Evolution of Technology* had a stone-tool-making day that really brought home what we were learning. And OEB 251: Introduction to Vertebrate Surgery is simply awesome.*Taught by Russell Greaves, who's now at U of Utah.

Does God reward faith or hard work?

God rewards faith and not hard work.Heb 11:6 - For without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that comes to the Father must know that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.When you have faith that He exists, and in response to that faith in Him you choose to seek him diligently , you will be rewarded by God through His presence.Hard work, however, is a success system that is applicable to the life of everybody. Believer or not.You don’t have to be a Christian to be hard-working, much less reap the rewards of hard work. The law of Sowing and Reaping.Faith, God rewards.Hard Work, simple law of Cause and Effect.

Has any country ever simplified the complicated grammar of its native language to make it easier to learn?

Yes, the Dutch language as reformed in several stages in the 20th century reformed not only the spelling, but also the grammar: what started off as de Nederlandsche tael at the start of the 20th century ended it as de Nederlandse taal. Both phrases mean the Dutch language in Dutch, and hence are identical in meaning, but, whereas the former represents the spelling circa 1900, the latter represents the spelling in the year 2000 (and, indeed, up to the present day).Over the course of the 20th century, not only were silent letters removed and the spelling simplified (not drastically so, but enough to make a visible difference over the course of 100 years), but some grammatical endings were also removed as they were felt to be extraneous and no longer to serve any useful purpose. So, for example, the distinctive -(e)n ending of certain masculine nouns in the direct objective (accusative) case was quietly dropped (although, for contrast, it is still alive and well ‘next-door’ in linguistic terms in the German language).Thus:Pre-reform spelling and grammar (until circa 1946): Ik heb eenen leeuwen gezien.Reformed spelling and grammar (after circa 1946): Ik heb een leeuw gezien.Contrast (German): Ich habe einen Löwen gesehen.Translation: I have seen a lion. After circa 1946, therefore, the fact that a noun is a masculine and in the direct objective case was no longer marked, either in speech or in writing: this is one of a number of changes that were made at this time in order to bring the written language closer to the everyday spoken language. Basically, after this time, a large number of case-endings (which had been hitherto ‘compulsory’ in formal writing but had already ceased to be common in the everyday spoken language) were officially dropped. Schoolchildren ceased to have to worry about them at this point, as they were no longer taught in schools.I have to admit though that, when I was learning Dutch (and coming at it from a somewhat ‘German’ angle), I was curious about the old cases (why is it still, for example, Koninkrijk der Nederlanden for Kingdom of the Netherlands, rather than *Koninkrijk van de Nederlanden, as it would be if absolutely everything about the old cases had been abandoned). I did, however, find it quite difficult to obtain easily accessible materials on this subject, whether in English or Dutch (this was before the internet became ubiquitous), so it does appear that most Dutch-speakers nowadays do not prioritise this point or just don’t find it interesting - what’s past is past.Wikipedia does, however, have a good article (written in much greater detail than I ever could here) on how the word-endings in Dutch were simplified over the centuries, with a noticeable acceleration in this process in the 20th century: Archaic Dutch declension - WikipediaPS / Because the Dutch language is ‘shared’ as a native language in Europe between the Netherlands and Belgium, it was not one country that undertook this reform, but two (although sometimes at a differential pace, and not always in harmony with one another). The modern Taalunie (Linguistic Union) between the two countries is, however, charged with uniform application of any new reform across both countries.

This company has an all-inclusive refund policy stating every possible circumstance of why they can refuse your refund, yet it states a 30 day money back guarantee on the website. I requested a refund for their useless service last year. Denied. Now, a year later, I was charged $39.95 for another year after making it clear last year of my desire to cancel. There is no way any positive reviews could be legitimate.
