Birth Certificate Online Application: Fill & Download for Free

I am going to explain the process for Delhi and particularly East Delhi Muncipal Corporation (EDMC).So, if your child birth happened in East Delhi, then you need to apply to East Delhi MCD for addition of name in the birth certificate.Documents Needed -Original Birth Certificate (for verification only)Photocopy of Original Birth CertificateApplication on plain paper (Child Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Mother Name, Father Name and Address)Aadhar Photocopy of Mother and FatherSubmit the above documents in East MCD office situated behind Karkardooma Court, Delhi.No fees is charged.They will give the receiving on back of your original birth certificate and you will be asked to come back after 15 days for collection. You can also download the birth certificate online.I submitted the application today and will update after 15 days whether things went as per schedule.Edit - The name of my child was updated around 10 Jan 2019. And I was able to download the e-certificate from the East MCD website by clicking on this link -http://111.93.47.72/csbedmc/rbd/onlinebrithcertificates.phpYou have to pay Rs. 21 for downloading the certificate. To apply for a Birth certificate it is compulsory to register yourself (birth date) first. The Birth Date has to be registered in a concerned local authority with 21 days of its occurrence. After that, a form is filled which must prescribed by the Registrar. Then, after the submission of the application form, the officials will verify the details and check the records with the concerned hospital. If all the information provided is correct, then the Birth Certificate will be issued to the individual.If in case, the Birth Certificate is not issued in a specific period of time then, the issuance of the Birth Certificate will take place only after the Police Verification ordered by the Revenue Authorities.

There are two types of birth certificates issued depending upon the requirement you have. If you are looking to join in any college or university then an ordinary birth certificate based on your matriculation certificate is enough. But if you need a birth certificate for your passport application then you have to undergo a long process for that birth certificate. So here are the procedures for these.Type-1 :If you want to apply for colleges then a normal birth certificate based on your matriculation certificate is enough. Reach your nearest Meeseva center and apply for Caste, Nativity and Birth certificate with photocopies of your matriculation certificate, Aadhaar/Voter/Driving licence or any other Identification Card and Address proof. After you pay the required amount, they will give you payment challan. Take a photocopy of that challan to your area VRO for his signature. After that go to your MRO office for RI and Tahsildar signature. Then submit your form to the System operator there. After the process is complete you will get a message that your certificate is ready at Meeseva centre. You need to submit the original payment challan at Meeseva counter to get your certificate. This whole process takes nearly a week to complete.Type-2 :If you need birth certificate for your passport, then you have to go to the hospital where you are born and get the details they have saved in their records. Then go to Meeseva centre and apply for birth certificate. You don't need to go to MRO office or do any other stuff. But if you are born at home or if the hospital's records are not correct then you have to apply for fresh birth certificate stating that you are born at home and no records are saved. Then you have to pay the required amount at Meeseva and take the payment challan. Now you have to prepare a notary stating that you require a birth certificate. Take the photocopies of your matriculation certificate, personal identification card, address proof, payment challan. You have to fill a form with all the details. Then submit these photocopies along with the notary at the MRO office. They will come for inspection to your home or to the address whichever you have given in the form, to confirm the details whether they are true and then the MRO, VRO, RI, Tahsildar will sign on your application. Then submit them to system operator. Once the procedure is complete you will get a message that your certificate is ready to collect at your Meeseva centre. Then you have to submit the original payment challan there to get your certificate. The whole process takes nearly 30–45 days atleast.If you have any queries please do let me know.Thanks.
