I laughed everyday, cops are a bunch of clowns, and people are crazy. One morning after working midnights me and my partner had to go get o IAD. We had to answer a complaint against the two of us. We told him he was going to be conducting a surveillance. I took him out to my pickup, in-the bed of the truck we had a refrigerator box. We told him he had to hide in the box. After a little persuasion we got him into the box. We drove to a nice area and left him in the box. We kept in touch thru the radio for several hours. We then started a video of him in the box, He though he had gotten made and started yelling to get him out of there.I got into the truck and started driving while the vehicle who made the video started following my truck. The Marine in the box started yelling they are following us. So started making sharp turns, causing the box to roll around with the Marine inside. Finally I pulled into the police lot. He jumped out of the box to see the vehicle that was following was two guys from our team and the video camera. That night while driving beer we watched the video and laugh,

Recently, my father asked me to escort my cousin who had crossed the 18th mark to the local Registration Transport Office for the issual of a learner license. Handing over to me a sum of 1000 (the required fee is Rs. 60 only), he uttered mockingly: "It’s not conceivable for a common man to get a job done here in one go without any sideline inducements." While he was instructing me the line of act and the way to trade business with the booking agents (Dalal) to speed up the process, I kept on reasoning if it was really not plausible to avail a government service without any payoffs. I -- considering myself as an educated and conscious young Indian -- took this as a challenge. Though I took the money, I was determined to execute this task with complete idealism.Knowing the height of absurdity one could experience at a government office (thanks to the time when I registered myself as an authorized driver), I prepared well within my knowledge about the required documents, attestations, and the procedural dealings taking the help of guidelines issued on the website.As the window for registration is accessible from 8 A.M. - 1 P.M, we left home quite early in the morning that day and reached the office before 7.30 A.M but not to much of our surprise we found a long serpentine queue sprawling the entire workplace. As per the directions one needs to get a Rs. 60 receipt at counter #1 for which we queued up. Taking into consideration the sluggish speed of the officials and the crammed office, we expected our turn in minimum two hours. I overheard many booking agents passing by murmuring their charges but didn't even think once of dealing with one. After roughly a half an hour wait, I noticed the queue had only advanced by inches. To this my cousin drew my attention to the ruckus at the counter. I asked him to secure the position and went myself to acknowledge the reason behind the fuss. On inquiry I couldn't restrained myself from joining the prevailing commotion. The unexpected delay was because the officers at the counter had not been attending the queued customers but rather the booking agents who were illegally conducting their business out of the line. When objected, they blurted out a pet statement i.e. it’s the privilege and preference which a staff member enjoys. Any lame person could detect that the people hovering over the counter were in no way staff members.On further interrogation it was revealed that barring the last stage (the test counter), all other stages which included fee deposition, verification and data entry had been outsourced to some private company and employees of this company had tie-ups with these agents and a share in the subsequent commission. One could also easily observe the change in the working speed of these officials while dealing with a queued customer to that with the agents. Public outburst or any howling didn't deter them even once from practicing this nuisance. Quarreling among the customers and these agents was a common sight to which no police dread attention. All in all the circumstances were coercive enough for any person who had not all day to succumb to the ordeals of these touts.Determined, catechized about the on-duty probing officer which was the M.L.O (Motor License Officer). Found his office on the first floor. I approached him and described the illicit business downstairs. Anyone could judge looking at his straight face that he was not new to the issue. With a neutral expression he dashed out of his office along with two constables. Noticing his presence the chaos at the counter suddenly came to a halt and the constables straightened the queue. In a loud voice the only words he said were: “jo line main nhi laga h, vo office ke bahar khada ho” (a person not in queue should wait outside the office). No doubt he had been doing this exercise regularly. But mine as well as his efforts were futile as the scene got regenerated in mere minutes. To this I lost a little of my patience. I went to the officer at counter #1, pounded his desk to seek his attention. Besides from warning him I stood there with my phone in hand and camera oriented at him threatening to record his wrongful deed (the kejriwal style). The message was pretty clear to the agents as well. I even raised my voice a bit to get others attention. Not only me but many fellow customers took the matter seriously and didn't allow anyone to break the line thereafter... Still few agents tried to pull some strings but were thrown out when they couldn't show the staff identity card. I even saw a senior citizen asking for a phone with camera (as he didn't have one) at a different counter to repeat the savior act.My cousin cleared his test and got the license before 1 PM. While returning I again visited the M.L.O office and submitted an application requesting to weed out this illegal business. He signed the application as received.

One, an expensive suit from motor failure, they settled BOTH suits in favor of the customers: with reimbursement paid for repairs, additional warranties for the afflicted cars and even towing charges reimbursed. Porsche also expedited and settled BOTH lawsuits within 2 years of them being filed!Your Money:So, who do you want to buy a car from? A company run by a car guy, loves cars, races cars professionally, builds cars the way he likes to race them - to last; AND has the wisdom, foresight and generosity (Noblesse Oblige) to give back to the world by sponsoring the Olympics.Or would you prefer to buy a car from a company who will fight your heirs tooth and nail over your dead body to avoid fixing a mistake oops, MANY mistakes, that they have made in their car production?
