Thus as long as the machine figures were accurately transcribed, the recanvass is complete. Do you see the difference between a recount and a recanvass now? A recanvass is simply re-adding figures, as opposed to running the ballots through a machine a second time.Only a person who is able to request a recount under state law can ask for such a recount.No one else generally has any authority to ask for a recount.As I understand it, even the Hillary campaign is not close enough by statute to request recounts in those states.The Green Party is absolutely not able under statute to request recounts in those states.Thus, this effort is pure grandstanding by a non-factor in the election, and can not legally do much of anything at all.In some states, it appears that one can pay for a recanvass.
