I've been hearing disturbing rumors about how Rotten Tomatoes has been manipulating its numbers in favor of The Rise of Skywalker. Is it true & if so, can you present evidence of that?

So I've been hearing disturbing rumors about how Rotten Tomatoes has been manipulating its numbers in favor of The Rise of Skywalker. Is it true? And if so can you present evidence of that?First of all thank you for the 2A2.Secondly… This is a tough one. No one can present empirical proof, because unless Rotten Tomatoes allows me access to their site servers, then I can't see if they unquestionably and undoubtedly, manipulated the numbers.BUT… It seems clear they manipulated the numbers. And thus I can give evidence that something is definitely not right with their numbers/percentages. Even if it isn't 100% full proof evidence. For that I would need complete access to their site and that is as likely to happen, as me winning $100 million on the lottery.I'm also asking Cleveland Oakes to also pay attention to this answer, seeing he asked about the discrepancies between Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. And I at the time didn't had the information I currently possess. So before I get into this, I began noticing this issue immediately as our Quora fellow member Mr Oakes addressed the issue. But I didn't had the time or will to really look deep into the matter. And today the moment I turned the web on, on my smartphone, I got nearly 60 messages from many sources all asking me about the apparent immovable percentage at Rotten Tomatoes. So I took some time from work while working, to run some of the softwares I own and others I have created, to look deep into the issue. And boy did I found something alright. Thus let's get down and dirty. And remember… All this data is on the web! So anyone can find it if you really want to.So let's begin with the math problem.Yes. If you know anything about math and statistics then you'll see the problem staring you in the face, like a nuclear explosion. You simply can't miss it.So Rotten Tomatoes began like this…With 6,231 “verified ratings” they were at 86%Which I got to say... This tells us nothing.6,231 people had seen it and apparently liked it a lot. Which is okay. Nothing weird. Or off place.Let's move on…Now we are at 9,628 “verified ratings” and look at the audience score. It didn't budge a single percentage point. But this is not a mathematical Impossibility thus I continued on.Now at 11,815 “verified ratings” the percentage again hasn't budged an inch. Or in this case one percentage point.Okay, this is sketchy at best! Not one percentage point, up or down, as the number of “verified reviews” is increasing by the thousands… I call that horse sh*t.If you know anything about math, finances, or simple statistics, you know this is extremely hard to happen in real life.I've developed analysis software for the stock market so I know what the hell I'm talking about.Still I began thinking… “Maybe it's a glitch and they just needed time to fix it. So let me move further.”And I saw this…At 22,198 “verified ratings” still the freaking audience score hadn't budge at all.Okay. This is what is known in the financial and other areas as a “hack info”. As in obviously something is not right here. Something is not working as it should.Obviously Rotten Tomatoes was not giving the accurate percentage. And thus I continued to look through the numbers as they increased by the thousands and nothing happened. Until I reached this point…At nearly 38,000 “verified ratings” the damned percentage hadn't moved one percentage point up or down.It never moved at all. Ever! And this to me my friends is genuine manipulation of the numbers.Rotten Tomatoes has yet again proven that they can't be trusted in any way shape or form. They are completely rotten! (pun intended)Oh, sure. I bet they'll eventually fix it and say they had a glitch on their system or better yet… The Russians hacked them! 🙃Seeing that seems to be the excuse used for everything nowadays. But I assure you it was not. This was deliberate manipulation of ratings to sell a pretty picture of The Rise of Skywalker, and not scare the people into not going to see the movie. On that department Metacritic certainly has better values.Now. Can I claim anything with a 100% certainty? Nope. How about 90–99 percent? You bet you @$$ I can!Math doesn't lie! People lie. But math doesn't lie. Not when it's done correctly. Not when it makes sense. And that frozen percentage, is a rigged percentage. It's fake! A trick to delude people.Still you might be wondering Miguel. Why would they do such a thing? Why put their credibility through the mud and ruin it forever? The answer is very simple people. It all boiled down to this…Money! And obviously the agendas.Let's look at what is Rotten Tomatoes. So who owns the site? Fandango! And who is in charge of Fandango? This guy!“Former Disney executive Paul Yanover”And on Rotten Tomatoes, where do they get most of their money from? Publicity.Of what? Movies mostly. So clearly Rotten Tomatoes has an interest that movies, but most of all movies from where they more than obviously receive money from, do well. And they can only do well, if people don't see such a low rating that will drive them away from that movie. Also as we do some digging we find little gems like these…So just in case you don't know, Rotten Tomatoes did a little software change a few years back.It was meant to verify the ratings, so we didn't had the “positive groupies” or the “negative groupies” manipulating a movie true worth. But that left Rotten Tomatoes open to a big problem. Negative reviews became easier to be accounted for, which meant movies Rotten Tomatoes might had a financial interest in succeeding, might fail because the real opinion of the audience was going to be reflected in the score. So they did some changes to the software once again to “protect the site” from “trolls with agendas”.This is not new or recent, seeing the Captain Marvel movie, was one to apparently benefit from that software change.Actually yeah they did changed the site to protect Captain Marvel. But I also do agree that the hate towards Bree Larson needed to be filtered out of the ratings.Doesn't mean that gives them a free pass to simply change ratings as they see fit. Or simply lock their audience score, on whatever percentage they want.So I'll leave it to you to reach your own conclusions. As far as I'm concerned the truth is as clear as filtered water.

How does one find the speed of an object if the acceleration is a variable and an acceleration time graph is given?

Suppose acceleration - time graph is as shown in figure. At t=0 let acceleration be ao. From the graph given here we wish to find speeds at different times.Suppose we want to find speed at some time t=t'.Then, draw a vertical line as shown in figure , at time t'.Now, find the area enclosed by OABCO. If this area is A', then speed at t' is given by v(t')=ao t' + A'.Thus, we can take different values of t' and for all selected t's we can find corresponding speeds. We can use the method of numerical analysis. In this method, we sub divide the time interval from zero to t' in to equal parts by the points to,t1,t2……….t'. Letvalues of acceleration at these points are ao,a1,a2,…….an.Now, we define step size,h=(t'-0)/n.Then, we can use the Simpson's formula to find area enclosed by 0ABCO.Area= h/3[ ao+4a1+2a2+4a3+………….+4a( n-1)+an].As stated above we can find speed at t=t'.Here also we follow this procedure for different t' and find speed as numerical function of time.

How do I solve pulley constraint problems?

How To Solve Pully Problems?For solving any pulley problem, the first step is to understand the given conditions and write down the constraint equations accordingly.CASE – 1Let, M1 & M2 be the mass attached to the pulley A. Now, consider that the mass M1 is moving down with acceleration a1 and mass M2 is moving up with acceleration a2.Now, from the Free Body Diagram (FBD):The equation of force from FBD:M1.g – T = M1.a1 . . . . . . . . . . (1)T – M2.g = M2.a2 . . . . . . . . . . . (2)The equation of force from FBD:M1.g – T = M1.a1 . . . . . . . . . . (1)T – M2.g = M2.a2 . . . . . . . . . . . (2)From the above force equation, we have three unknowns but there are only 2 equations (Equation (1) & Equation (2) ) so we need a third equation relating the two unknowns. The relation is known as constraint equation because the motion of M1 and M2 is interconnected.The following assumptions must be considered before writing the equation:; 1. The string is taut and inextensible at each and every point of time.; 2. The string is massless and hence the tension is uniform throughout.; 3. Pulley is massless.The string is inextensible hence the total change in length of the string should be zero. Suppose mass M1 goes down by x1 distance and mass M2 moves up by x2 distance. Then, change in length = x1 – x2 (Taking elongation as positive and compression as negative)On equating it to zero we get, x1 – x2 = 0 (x = displacement)On Differentiating equation (3) twice we get,a1 – a2 = 0 . . . . . . . . . (3) (a = acceleration)Using Equation (1), (2) & (3) we can calculate the values of T, a1 & a2. This is an example of a Fixed Pulley System.CASE – 2Consider the following pulley system:;First, we have to relate the tension between string 1 & string 2, Consider F.B.D of pulley B:2T1 – T2 = MB.aB2T1 = T2 . . . . . . . . . (4) (Since the pulley is massless)Now, Consider the accelerations as shown in the below figure:For String 2:Movable pulley B and Block M2 will have same acceleration otherwise the string will stretch or compress.aB = a2 . . . . . . . . . . . . (5)Increase in length to the left of fixed pulley A = L1Decrease in length to the right of fixed pulley A = L2Decrease in length to the right of movable pulley B = L3And, L1 + L2 + L3 = Constant.Therefore, the total change in length = L1 – 2L2 (Since, L2 = L3)On differentiating the above equation twice we get,[math]\Rightarrow[/math]⇒ a1 = 2a2 . . . . . . . . (6)Similarly if we write force equation on both the blocks:M1.g – T = M1.a1 . . . . . . . . . . (7)2T – M2.g = M2.a2 . . . . . . . . . (8)Using Equations (6), (7) & (8) we get:T = [math]\frac {3 M_1 M_2 g}{4M_1~ [/math][math][/math][math]+~ M_2}[/math]4M1 + M23M1M2ga1 = [math]\frac {(4M_1 ~-~ 2 M_2)g}{4M_1 ~+~M_2}[/math]4M1 + M2(4M1 − 2M2)ga2 = [math]\frac {(2 M_1~-~M_2)g}{4 M_1~+~M_2}[/math]4M1 + M2(2M1 − M2)gInstead of using the above method we can also use a shortcut to find the constraint relationship for saving time in JEE.If we consider all the block + Pulleys + string as one system then the tension becomes internal force and we know that the work done by the internal force is zero.[math]\Rightarrow[/math]⇒ [math]\sum T.x[/math]∑T.x = 0Work done by tension on block M1 = -T.x1Work done by tension on block M2 = 2T.x2Work by tension on pulley A = T.0 = 0Work done by tension on Pulley B = 2T.x2 – 2T.x2 = 0Hence we get, 2T.x2 – T.x1 = 0[math]\Rightarrow[/math]⇒ x1 = 2.x2Differentiating twice with respect to time we get:[math]\Rightarrow[/math]⇒ a1 = 2.a2The above technique can be used in almost all possible pulley system consisting of fixed pulleys or movable pulleys.SOURCE : Byjus website.
