PDF Editor FAQ

If you had to create a Navy, Air force, and Army, including the organization and equipment, with an unlimited budget, what would you pick/use? It is for the defense of your and allied countries, as well as relief missions.

Fair Warning: This is a long answer, and is most likely around a 30 minute to an hour read.Starting off, I would like to say the leader of said country would have to be pretty stupid to pick me, a 15 year old child as his MoD.So first about the country’s diplomacy, so this country sounds like a regional power who gets deployed on UN/NATO missions, now here is where I specialize, first diplomacy follows. Is based in South East AsiaHas friendly relations with the WestRelatively wealthy and has the economy of let’s say Australia/India or somewhere in betweenIs in a Cold War with another regional power that has comparable technology (Around Mid-Late 2000s to Early 2010s technology except in a few fields)Next, the Country itself and terrain and how big it is, I’m basing this fictional country after my native country, Thailand. With a country surrounded by Mountains, forest and jungles that plateaus into farmable plains, with lots of rivers.Second having unlimited budget is not fun so…let’s spice this up, 55 billion dollars for equipment (The Budget of the French Armed Forces), Now to divide this I first would like to say I’m a firm believer in the AirLand Battle doctrine, so most of the budgets would go to the Army and Air Force, with the Navy in 3rd something along the lines of 22 billion for the Army, 18 Billion for the Air Force and 15 Billion for the Navy. Here’s a Pie Chart, so I’d look professional.First I will start off with the organization, feel free to skip this and go down to the equipment. So let’s first start off with the Armed Forces I’d say this fictional Armed Forces has 400,000 men, I’d give 300,000 to the Army, 40,000 to the Air Force and 60,000 to the Navy.ArmyFirst, the Army. having 300,000 men, I will organize these into 8,000 men Brigades, which would be rounded out to 37 Brigades which will be further divided into 24 Infantry Brigade (12 mechanized, 12 motorized) 4 Air Mobile Brigades, 8 Tank Brigades and lastly 1 Marine Brigade (Under the command of the Navy).Fair Warning: I have quite the NATO Bias on equipment.Infantry3 Infantry Regiments, 1 Tank Regiment and a Brigade artillery of 6 battalions, with the support companies of things like AT, AA, Field Hospitals, Engineers, MPs and Recon.Something like this, I made this in Photoshop. The Armored would be similar, of 2 Tank Regiments and 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiments with the same artillery and support company composition.Second lastly, the Air Mobile Brigades, it would be the same as the Infantry Brigade except replace the Armored with Attack Helos, the Infantry training would also be more rigorous with a higher standard compared to the Infantry.Actual lastly, who could forget T H E M A R I N E SThis would roughly be the same size as the Infantry Brigade, and is under the command of the Navy, the training quality would roughly be the same as the Air Mobile. Now with this done, let’s get to the equipment!EquipmentWelcome back for those of you who skipped, I personally apologize you don’t find the first part interesting.Second of all, With 20 Billion dollars to spend, let’s start off with the equipment for the Infantry!Small ArmsLet’s start off with the Small Arms, rifles, pistols, ATGMs and MANPADS!The rifle I would equip my Infantry would be the M16A4M16A4Now I actually did the Math on this, the total number of Infantrymen in my Army would be around 200,000 men alone, so I need 200,000 rifles, but just to be safe in case of emergencies, I’d buy 250,000 rifles for training and surplus equipment, each M16A4 could range somewhere between 200 dollars per rifle to 1,200 USD, so assuming I’m going for a medium level bidder I’d take one for 500 dollars, 500 x 250,000 would be 125 million dollars, assuming I’d also spend some money for ammo that would be somewhere around 150 million dollars.(The Formula is if every rifleman is issued with 5 magazines, per person, and I also doubled it for surplus ammo)But wait! That’s not all! We also have to take into account accessories, at this point I’d just say “Fuck it use the Irons” but well, yeah that is exactly what I’m gonna do, I would literally be spending 500 dollars on holographic sights that would double the costs for firearms, instead I would encourage my soldiers to buy their own if they are not happy with the gear they are issued, and everything would be allowed except the ones that affects the usability and/or overall performance of the firearm.Second of all for the MPs, we’re going to need an SMG, something, light cheap and can be taken in a vehicle, 2 contenders here, the Sig MPX and the H&K MP5, in the end I chose the MPX.Sig MPXNow 2 reasons, 1 it has a Picatinny rail and and is wayyy more compact than an MP5 and at half the cost (I think) an MPX is roughly 1,200 USD while an MP5 is 2,100–2,500 USD, So having an MP Company (24 men) in every brigade would roughly be around 888 men, I would need of course, 888 SMGs (I’d buy 1,000 just in case) of roughly 1 Million USD for all the SMGs and assuming each MP is equipped with 4 mags (Including 1 on the gun) and tripling ammo supply because 9mm is a very common round, the total would be 73,000 USD for the ammo, combined with the gun the total price would be 1.08 Million USD for everything.Next up for the NCOs who are issued pistols, call me old school but, you can’t go wrong with Old Reliable, the Springfield M1911, more commonly known in the Corps as the M45 MEU(SOC)Springfield Armory M1911Now the price is somewhere around 700 USD per pistol (How is this more expensive than an M16A4?!) so assuming around 10–15% of my Army are NCOs so around 30,000 men, the price for the pistols would be 21 Million USD, including ammo would bump this up to 214,000 dollars to (Assuming every NCO and CO is equipped with 3 magazines) but like the M16, I would buy double the amount for surplus, rounding out to 500,000 dollars worth of ammunition.Next up is the general purpose machine guns, the back bone of any Infantry force, now call me a nerd but no, it’s not a 240B, because I’m going with the MG3.Rhinemetall MG3WW2 showed that the MG42 is one scary ass weapon, obviously so the price of an MG3 is roughly somewhere around 900 USD per unit, I assumed because I can’t find any so I used the price of the MG42 instead.Anyways, now I would only be equipping my normal Infantry force with this machine gun and not the Air Mobile because…look at it, you don’t wanna lug that thing around when you’re in a Helo, so I would only need around 34,000 Machine guns, buying more for surplus and training I would settle for 40,000 Machine guns totaling to 36 Million USD, with ammo (Assuming each Infantry man is issued with 200 rounds of ammo and doubling the ammunition supply) the price would total to 6.7 dollars of ammunition (42.7 million USD total)Next is the LMG for the Air Mobile (And the Marines), I’m gonna keep this brief, yes it’s the M249 SAW Para.M249 SAW Para.So getting a little fancy, the M249 is around 4,000 dollars per unit but I’d only need around 5,400 machine guns, and buying 6,000 for surplus and training we could get these for around 24 Million dollars, also with ammo (Using the same formula as the GPMG of 200 rounds per Machine gunner and doubling the ammo supply) the total price would be 1.08 for the ammo so the total would be 25.8 million dollars, I guess this thing really does not grow on trees…So next things, next is the AT (Anti-tank/Heavy Weapons) Now this is not the ATGM that would be equipped in the AT company, no this the rocket launchers you use to blow shit up with, I nominate 2, one for the Infantry, the other for the Air Mobile and Marines.First is the Panzerfaust 3-T for the Infantry.Panzerfaust 3The thing is dirt cheap, light and has one hell of a punch, perfect for the Infantry! At 950 USD per unit a usual Infantryman can carry around 3 so that’s how much he will be equipped with, at the squad level (That’s 2 men with the Pz.Faust 3 per platoon) I would need, 104,000 of these, buying 110,000 for reasons listed above, that would total to 104.5 Million USD, a bargain.Second for the Air Mobile and the Marines, it’s the Carl Gustav M4.Carl Gustav Recoilless RifleThis thing is actually quite good, it has long range, a variety of ammo types and will give your soldiers concussion, imagine what it can do to the enemy! Now I would only need, 5,400 of these launchers but I’ll buy 5,500, at 20,000 USD per unit the total price would be…110 Million dollars (That’s more expensive that the entire order for the Panzerfaust 3), if every men equipped with the Carl Gustav has 4 rockets (And if all rockets are 600 USD per rocket and doubling ammunition supply) the price for the ammo would be 6.6 Million dollars, and the total price of launcher and ammo the total bill is 116 Million dollars.Next up is the ATGM (Anti-tank Guided Missile)Now for the ATGMs these would be at the Brigade level of just a meager Anti-tank company per Brigade because it’s in Asia! We’re full of mountains and jungles, who the hell needs tanks here for? But we still have Anti-tank companies to equip so with the relatively small size I would choose the FGM-148 Javelin.FGM-148 being fired. This thing…is amazing, I love it. Thing is, it’s expensive as…I don’t know buying a new house, at 126,000 dollars per CLU (Central Launch Unit, aka. The Tubey Thing) and 76,000 dollars per missile, luckily assuming each Anti-tank company of 12 men is equipped with 6 launchers (2 men per Anti-tank team) I only need to buy a 186 of these, 190 just in case, and tripling the ammo supply to 600 missiles that is about 23 Million USD for the CLUs, and 45 Million for the missiles, that gives a grand total of 69 (Nice) Million dollars for everything.Next on the list is the MANPADS (Man Portable Air Defense System)Now unlike the Anti-tank my Anti-air is at the Battalion level so around 600 men, I’d say 2/3 of those are in some kind of SP Anti-air that is more powerful than the MANPADS that leaves 200 men, and again, assuming 2 men operates 1 launcher, I would need 10 MANPADS launcher per Battalion and 370 launchers entirely (400 just in case) I was hovering between the Starstreak and the Stinger in the end I chose…The FIM-92F Stinger. The FIM-92 Stinger (Pictured is a Japanese Dummy version)Now you can say “Oh my god AmErIcAn BiAs!” but I actually have good reasons, the Stinger is a F&F weapon but the Starstreak is SACLOS and doesn’t have a proximity fuze so you would have to hit the aircraft directly, although deadly, those weaknesses are a deal breaker. Now I can’t find the price of the launcher and the missile separately but I do have the total price of 38,000 USD for both launcher AND missile, I’d wager the launcher is around give or take, 10,000 USD and 28,000 USD for the missiles, so with this the total price for the launchers would be 1 Million dollars for the launcher (And again, trippling the ammunition supply) would be a total of 33 Million for the Missiles, the total would be 34 Million USD for the system. Now that concludes our Small Arms section, onto the next for the Army would be, the big guns, Artillery and Mortars.Artillery and MortarsFirst let’s start off light, I would have 2 types of mortars light 60mm Mortar, I’d choose the M224.Some dude with an M224.Now these costs 10,600 USD a piece, so I’d wager I’d need 8 mortars (I’d split it up 4 light mortars, 4 heavy) per 1 Weapons Company and I’d need 1 Weapons Company per Battalion, So I’d need 1,044 pieces (I’d buy 1,060), cool, times that by 10,600 that’d be a grand total of only 11.2 Million USD for the mortars, that’s really fuckin’ cheap.Next for the heavier mortar I’d say a 120mm I’d choose a Soltam K6An Army Airborne with a K6 deciding if he wanna give that Taliban a bad day.So, a K6 usually costs around 18,000 USD a piece, and we already did the math so we’d need 1,060 pieces of mortars, that would be 19 Million USD.Now, next is the artillery, except for Marines and Air Mobile my Brigades would be equipped with 4 Battalions of 155mm Howitzer, meanwhile Marines and Airborne would have the light 105mm Howitzers and only a Battalion of 155mm, let’s first start of with the 105mm I’d choose the L118 Light Gun.L118 Light Gun being firedNow for the life of me I cannot find how much these things cost, but thanks to Baz Barović he managed to find the price, so the artillery and the APS (Artillery Pointing System is around 1.1 Million USD a piece, great. So I would need to equip 12 Battalions from the Air Mobile and 3 Battalions from the Marines, so that’s 15 Battalions of Artillery, each battalion of artillery is around 20 pieces so I’d need 300 pieces, the total price would be 330 Million USD.So, next is our General Purpose Howitzers (Not an actual term) the 155mm Howitzers! For that there are 2 contenders, the American M198, the Singaporean FH-2000 and the British M777 Lightweight Howitzer, so this one is gonna be long but let’s make the case for them.M198M198 Howitzer, Photography and terrain looks like the early stages of OIF.Pros: Cheaper at 528,000 USD per unit, is being retired so we can get some for cheap, has a medium weight at 7,154 kg. per unit.Cons: Doesn’t have a Digital Fire control system, no longer produced and you need a crew of 9 to operate which increases training costs.M777M777 Howitzer being firedPros: Has a digital fire control system, 41% lighter than the M198 (4,200 kg.) and is still being produced, can fire the M968 Excalibur GPS guided munitionCons: is 5–6 times more expensive than the M198 (India bought theirs for 3 Million USD per piece) so for every 1 M777 you could have 5–6 M198 Howitzers, need a crew of 8 to operate, only 1 man less than the M198.FH-2000FH-2000 Being fired at Waiouru Training CampPros: Price is in between the M198 and the M777 at 805,000 USD per piece, has a digital fire control system, the hydraulics are also isolated which improves reliability and only need a crew of six.Cons: It is 3 times as heavy as the M777 at 13,200 kg.In the end I chose 2, for general purpose use I went with the FH-2000, while also buying a small batch of M777 Howitzers for the Air Mobile and the Marines. So, let’s first start of with the FH-2000, first I’m gonna need, let’s say 80 pieces per Brigade, I have 24 ground brigades (Excluding Armor), so 80x24, I would need 1,920 pieces, then for Armor I would equip 2 Battalions with the FH-2000 so that’s 40x8 which comes to a grand total of 320 extra pieces for a total of 2,240 pieces (buying 2,250) so the total would be 1.8 Billion USD.So…for our next nightmare comes with the M777’s price, luckily we only need 5 battalions worth of artillery so 150 pieces the total would be…450 Million USD, huh, that’s not remotely as bad as I thought it would be…the total price for all the artillery pieces (105mm and 155mm) totals to 2.5 Billion USD.VehiclesStarting off with the utility vehicle, this vehicle would be used behind lines, it will be fast, lightly armored (Just in case) and good off road, now I’m not a car guy but I think you know what I’m thinking. I pick, the American HMMWV (Humvee)HumveeNow this thing, is 4,000 dollars per vehicle, why? Because the US is retiring them and are selling them cheaper than a hooker, and you don’t need much, to transport my entire Army in a horde of Humvees I would need 60,000 vehicles, But I’m not gonna use 60,000 vehicles! I’d buy around 10,000 of these which would be a whopping 40 Million USD, a steal.Next up is the Logistics vehicle, I’d choose the MAN KAT 6x6.MAN KAT 6x6Now these go for around 37,000 dollars per vehicle, so I’d buy 5,000, which be around 185 Million USD for all of them, nice. Now luckily for you this concludes our trucks section, for now…next up is the Armored Vehicles!Armored VehiclesLet’s start off with the bread and butter of a mechanized force APCs, now for me I would buy the M113 APC, specifically the M113A3.M113A1This thing could do everything you can transport troops, you can use it as a recon, they put mortars on it, during Vietnam they mount fucking artillery on this, now for my Mechanized Infantry force of 12 Infantry Brigades and 8 Armored Brigades, I would need 9,976 vehicles, now for everything else I would buy around 12,000 of these things, each would cost 300,000 USD, which rounds up to 2.9 Billion Dollars. Now…don’t panic, you’re still in budget, and hell! You’re almost done!Next is the Motorized Corps, to first address them, I would like the Motorized Corps, to be a self sufficient and deadly force without requiring the help of the armored, now some good choices here, the Stryker is too expensive, the Boxer is too expensive, so we have 1 choice, the LAV-25, specifically the LAV platform.Australian ASLAV-PC (Personnel Carrier)Now this thing has 1 role, carry troopsNow for IFVs, I wanna buy the Bradley but realized that’s kind of a bad idea so I decided against it, now I would only need 192 vehicles per brigade, so in the Motorized there’s Brigades so that’s like 2,304 vehicles…fuck. Now I’d buy I don’t know 2,350 vehicles, these hell spawn costs 2.2 Million each that’s 5 Billion USD. Can I at this point just use a truck…? No.Last but not least the Armored Battalion in the Motorized, instead of tanks I’m going with the the B1 Centuaro.B1 Centauro used by the Italian Army during IFOR.Now these things compared to Stryker MGS is 1/4 the price at 1.7 Million USD, and it has a 120mm, this thing is a steal, so for a 58 vehicle armored battalion I’d need 696 Vehicles (Buying 700) that would be the total of 1.19 Billion USD.But of course I can’t forget the Marines, so for them they wouldn’t use an M113, just like every single frickin’ Marine Corps in the world, they would use the AAV-7A1.AAV-7A1Now I would only need 360 (Nice) Vehicles, because this fat ass can hold 21 men, sadly this thing also costs 2.2 Million fucking dollars per unit, now buying 360 vehicles would be about 720 (Nice) Million USD.Now we need to address the elephant in the room with the Marine Corps the Light Armored Recon, for that I choose the LAV-25, more specifically the Canadian Coyote.A New Zealand LAV III (Basically an IFV version of the Coyote)Now for a Reconnaissance battalion I would need, roughly 16 Vehicles each of these costs 1.8 Million USD, the total would be 28.8 Million USD.Next is the support vehicles, AA, ATGM vehicles and what-not.My first pick for a SHORAD system is the Israeli Machbet.MachbetThe Machbet is an Israeli upgrade of the M163 VADS (Vulcan Air Defense System), now I was hovering between this or the Flak Panzer Gepard (Since the Germans were retiring theirs and I can get them for cheap or the SIDAM 25 (With the Mistral missiles) I chose the Machbet because. It’s mounted on an M113 chassis, and since I have a fucking horde of these, if it breaks down I could easily repair them and if one destroys I could just make MORE.The SIDAM 25 has the Mistral missile, which is great but I already have a good stock of Stinger missiles, so more ammo supply. Each of these units are around 4 Million dollars, to equip all of my Brigades I would need 10 vehicles per Brigade, now multiply that by 20 you would get 200 vehicles, pretty nice, the total price would be 800 Million USD.So the Machbet is only for the Mechanized and Armored, for the Motorized, they’re getting an LAV-AD (Air Defense) it’s a LAV-25 fitted with a 25mm gatling gun and 4 Stinger missiles.A LAV-AD firing a Stinger missile. Now like the Machbet I would only need 10 vehicles per brigade, for 12 brigades I’d need 120 vehicles, now I can’t find the price of the LAV-AD so if the LAV-25 is 900,000 dollars I’d say this thing is like…1.2 Million per vehicle, so let’s roll with that, that’d be a total of 144 Million USD.Next is the Anti-tank vehicle, I choose the M901A3 ITV.An M901A3 ITVThe M901 basically an M113 fitted with 2 TOW missile launchers, these are pretty defensive weapons, so perfect for our Army! I would equip these in my Armored Brigades, I would need around 64 vehicles and 768 TOW-2 Missiles, I would buy 800 just in case. Now each vehicle costs, 200,000 dollars, so 64 vehicles would be, 12.8 Million USD (Dirt Cheap) and the missiles are around 54,000 dollars per missile so the missiles would cost 43.2 Million USD, bringing the total to 56 Million USD.Now for MRADS and LRADS those will be used for defending cities in a Strategical sense and under the command of the Air Force, so stay tuned.Second lastly the Mortars I choose the M1064 Mortar carriers which is an American M113 fitted with an Israeli Soltam K6 120mm mortar.M1064 deployed in Iraq. Now I don’t know how much each system costs, so I just combine the price of an M113 with the price of the mortar which is about 318,000 USD, I would equip at least a battery or two of this per Brigade (Excluding the Air Mobile) so about 792 vehicles, I’d buy 800 of them, so the total is 280 Million USD.Lastly the Self-propelled Artillery (SPG), 4 choices, the M109A6 Paladin, the PzH 2000, the AS-90 or the K-9 Thunder, in the end it comes down to the M109A6 and the PzH 2000, I chose the PzH 2000.PzH 2000 (Panzerhaubitze 2000)Now I chose this thing for 2 reasons, it has a really good FCS, shares the same parts as the Leopard 2 and lastly can fire smart rounds, so if a battalion has 6 of these things I would need 12 vehicles per Brigade, I have 8 tank brigades so I’d need 96 vehicles, costing 4.5 Million USD each the total price would be 440 Million USD.Next up is your favorite TANKS.First off I would have 2 categories for my tanks brigades, an A class and a B class tank brigade, I would choose 3 Brigades to be an A class, it would receive the Merkava Mk.4 tank.Merkava Mk.4 (Chariot in Hebrew)What can I say? It has good armor, an active protection system, a 120mm Smoothbore gun, can fire gun launched ATGMs and lastly can transport troops when need be! I love this thing, and hell, aside from India’s T-90, Pakistan’s Al-Khalid and China’s Type 99A which is comparable to our Merkava. No one has a better tank than us in the entirety of Asia. Now these babies cost 4.5 Million each (Half the price of a brand new M1A2C SEP V.4 Abrams, now I need to equip 3 Brigades (384 Tanks) which is around 1.5 Billion USD.Now for our B class, they would receive the Leopard 2A4.Leopard 2A4The Leopard costs somewhere around I’d say 5 Million USD based brand new, but get this, Spain bought 108 Leopard 2A4s recently for 18 Million USD, that’s an average of 15,864 USD PER TANK, that’s crazy low…and guess what? We’re swooping those up too! Considering how the relationship with Germany is not that great compared to Spain, I’d say Germany sells us the tanks about 2 Million dollars per tank, that’s still crazy cheap although these were made in the 1980s and is literally almost 40 tears old, but guess what? It shoots, it drives, so I don’t give a damn, now to complete equip our tank brigades we would need 580 Tanks that would be 1.1 Billion Dollars for 580 Tanks.for 2.6 Billion USD we now have a 784 tank strong Armored Fighting Force, nice. Now Lastly and probably your second or third favorite Helicopters.HelicoptersLet’s first start off with the little guys, for the reconnaissance and light attack role I would equip at least 1 Battalion of my Air Mobile Brigade with a McDonell Douglas MD-500 Defender.MD 500These little birds are cheap and decent at everything, like a helicopter version of the F-16, now to equip one battalion (16 Helicopters) each with these helicopters, would require 64 Helicopters (70 just to be safe) these go for 2 million brand new, I’d say about 1.5 used and in good condition, for a grand total of 96 Million USD.Next is the Medium Utility helicopter, the back bone of the Air Mobile force, now between the UH-60 Blackhawk, the AgustaWestland Lynx and the UH-1N Twin Huey, I chose the UH-1N Twin Huey. Why?The UH-1N is more suited to Asia, as the Blackhawk was designed for Europe and is not suited for the environment. While the Westland Lynx is cheaper it carries less troops.Come on, a Huey is made for Asia, y’all remember Vietnam?UH-1N Twin HueySo assuming I would equip each with around 60 Helicopters per brigade I would need about 240 Helicopters 250 just to be safe, at 5 Million USD each, I would need 1.25 Billion USD for those helos, next thing I’d do is attach a pair of speakers to it and blast Ride of the Valkyries.Next is the Heavy Utility helicopter, and you know what it is, it’s the fat ass with 2 engines to rule them all the CH-47 Chinook, more specifically the CH-47F Chinook.CH-47 Chinook. Now, having a Utility Helicopter Battalion I would need to equip my brigades with 6 Chinooks each, for 4 Brigades that’s 24 I’d buy 25 just to be safe, that totals to 875 Million USD.Last but definitely not least, the Attack Helicopter, no it’s not the Apache, the Apache’s good but it’s expensive, and we’re on a budget here, no, what I’d take is the AH-1W SuperCobra.AH-1W Super CobraThis thing is a beast, it has a 20mm Vulcan cannon, can carry 2 rocket pods each fitted with 32 rockets, can launch 8 ATGMs (TOWs or Hellfire missiles) and can fly at a whopping 300 km/h (That’s 186 mph) only 30 km. slower than the Hind (The fastest helo in the world at around 330 km/h or 205 mph) now 1 of these costs 10 Million dollars, assuming each of my Brigades are equipped with 24 helicopters, I would need 96 helicopters at 960 Million USD, taking training costs into account I’d say around 1.2 Billion USD, but wait! That’s not all! We also need to take into account, Ammo.So excluding the 20mm Vulcan’s ammo and the rocket pods with things like the APKWS and the M151 Hydras, let’s start off with the missiles for my Supercobra, which ones would I buy? TheseAGM-114 Hellfire (Now the TOW 2 would be a great choice considering I already bought a lot, but the capabilities of the Hellfire compared to the TOW is too much) about 400 missiles (44 Million USD)AIM-9 Sidewinders (For self defense against other helos (I wouldn’t buy a lot but still some just in case) 80 missiles (5.1 Million USD)Now the total price for the entirety of the Supercobras would be 1.6 Billion USD.Now with that done the Army is now equipped, the total cost is…21,088,080,000 (21.08 Billion USD) funnily enough, still not the largest single purchase in history. So with this we’re still 1 Billion under for the total budget of 22 Billion, I would spend this money on wages, equipment, food, supplies, Special Forces, more ammo and what not.Next up! The Air Force!Air ForceFirst off, the usual O R G A N I Z A T I O N. We need to figure out how our Air Force would be like first before we can buy equip it, so First the size, I want a medium sized Air Force I’d say about 300 Aircraft to 350, because to be fair we have a budget of 16 Billion and about 40,000 men we’re about the size of the French Air Force, I would like to buy 350 Aircraft (320 Combat, 30 Everything else), so first things first, Organization, with 300 aircraft my Air Force would be 25 Squadrons big, organized into 5 different wings, Each stationed in 4 different parts of the country North, East, South, West and the Central covering the Capital of the country. Something like this.I made this in Photoshop, took about 3 hours. So with 25 Squadrons, (14 Combat, 4 Electronic Warfare, 5 Tankers (Only 4 Aircraft per Squadron), 2 Training) our 276 aircraft Air Force let’s get into the equipment shall we?First, the elephant in the room, the LRADS-SAMs (Long Range Air Defense System - Surface to Air Missiles), now my pick is the hybrid US/Norwegian NASAMS.Norwegian NASAMS system on a Scania truckThe best way to describe the NASAMS is…what if you take an AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile, strap it onto a 6x6 and tow some radar on the back…Now this thing is actually pretty good, thing is it costs 50 Million per fucking unit, Now you might say “Hur dur dur durr, what do you need these for?” well to defend my fucking capital and major cities of course, why? To uh…protect civilians…? Yeah…Civilians…Anyways I’d form a few Anti-Air regiments under the command of the Air Force and put these in major cities, now with this being a fictional country I’d say there are 5 I need to defend, so based off of the Soviet SAM network, I’d need 6 launchers and 200 missiles per regiment, times that by 5 and the ammunition supply, I’d need 30 Launchers and 1,000 missiles, pretty neat, now for the launchers itself I would need to pay 1.5 Billion USD, while the missiles would be AIM-120C-7 AMRAAMS which in total would cost 400,000 dollars a missile, which would cost…400 Million USD. For a grand total of 1.9 Billion USD.So the first aircraft I would buy is the JAS-39C GripenJAS-39 Gripen“Wow real original” You say, “Every fucking Air Force has a Gripen” You continue, yeah, you know why like every fucking Air Force uses a Gripen? Because it’s good.So first things first, a Gripen can cost anywhere around from 30 Million-60 Million USD, So let’s say a C Gripen costs 45 Million and a D Gripen costs 55 Million. So with those prices I would buy 72 JAS-39C Gripen and 48 JAS-39D Gripens, into 6 Gripen C squadrons and 4 Gripen D Squadrons for the total price of 5.8 Billion USD.Next up I would like to buy an Interdictor, you might ask, “Why…?” Well, let me explain, the environment of Asia specifically South East Asia is a very Jungle/Forest covered terrain with mountains sprinkled here and there which turns into plains in the Khorat Plateau in Thailand, now learning from the US’s experiences in Vietnam, having a Fighter Aircraft that could carry a crap ton of bombs would be quite good as a Ground Support platform, like how the US used the F-4 Phantom II during the Vietnam War, this is where Interdictors come in, and as you may already know the aircraft I choose is…the Panavia Tornado GR.4.An RAF Panavia Tornado taking off.Now with the reasons already explained on why I chose the Tornado, the GR.4 also was recently retired (2017) so prices would be cheap while Aircraft condition could be relatively good, it still supports a lot of NATO standard armaments, although the swing-wings could be a bit taxing on maintenance, but the ends justifies the means dammit. So, from what I read, 1 GR.4 costs somewhere around 30–40, thanks to Cole Snedeker's answer to How much does a single Tornado gr4 fighter jet cost to build?, so I’d narrow it down a bit, each of these costs 35 Million USD per unit, great, now we need to equip 4 squadrons with this or around 48 Aircraft, which totals to 1.68 Billion USD.So next is the Electronic Warfare Aircraft more specifically Aircraft that could perform SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defense) now obviously I don’t wanna buy the EA-18G Growler, prices are ridiculous, so for me the perfect aircraft is again, the recently retired Panavia Tornado ECR.Luftwaffe Panavia Tornado ECR.Now these aircraft knowing the current state of the German military are in…mediocre condition this is compared to RAF Aircraft stored in storage for the past 3 years, now to be fair I could just give some enlisted guys a hose, sponges and car wash and say “Go at it” but I digress. So, these aircraft costs about 60 Million per unit, similar to the GR.4 I would only need 48 Aircraft, so the total price would be…2.88 Billion USD.Second lastly the Tanker Aircraft, for me I’d take the KC-135 Stratotanker.USAF KC-135 StratotankerSo these costs 3.7 Million per craft so we need about 20 to equip 5 squadrons, the total price would be 74 Million USD.Now slight tangent, some of you might say, no AEW/AWACS? No, because just like the question states, this military is defensive, from my understanding (Although I’m no expert) an AWACS aircraft is basically a flying radar site, but you’re defending your country, you already have radar sites! So that’s why I won’t have one, although if you’re wondering, my pick is the E-3 Sentry.Lastly is the Trainer Aircraft, I’d pick the TA-50 Golden Eagle, first of all I think it is a relatively modern trainer, can also doubles as a Light Attack Aircraft and lastly the T-7 Red Hawk isn’t even adopted yet, and lastly it is relatively inexpensive at 25 Million USD.KAI T-50 Golden EagleSo for 2 squadrons I would need around 24 Aircraft so only 600 Million USD. Cool. Also I’d buy a few C-130J Super Hercules Cargo planes, maybe around 8–12 aircraft.A US Air National Guard C-130 HerculesThese are around 100–187 Million USD, so I’d settle for 140 Million USD per aircraft, with the total price of 1.68 Billion USD.The total well money I spent on these aircraft are at a total of 14,614,000,000 USD (14 Billion USD) and around 4 Billion under from our 18 Billion USD Budget, which I will use on buying munitions, fuel, wages and lastly supplies, and maybe some cool Special Forces, lastly I’d give a Billion to the Navy cause they’d need it.With this, done We now have our Air Force, let’s get to the last branch of our Armed Forces shall we? No, not the Coast Guard, the Navy.Navy and Marines CorpsWith a budget of now 16 Billion USD. We have a lot of money to buy some fancy ships, and crayons for the Marines…so let’s start with Organization shall we?First the Navy, I would organize the Navy into 2 fleets the Surface Action Group (SAG) which revolves around a Guided Missile Cruiser, a number of Destroyers and frigates. Next is the Aircraft carrier now, this thing would be medium sized, could launch Marines and hold a sizable amount of aircraft and helicopters (Around 24 Aircraft, 16 Helicopters), like an Amphibious Assault Ship/Fleet Carrier hybrid because with only a budget of 12 Billion we’re not gonna be ordering a new Gerald R. Ford Class Aircraft Carrier or something, in the end it’d look like this.(I made a typo, It’s Type 45 not 42)And the Marine Corps of course, is already mentioned so I won’t mention them much. And lastly the Naval Aviation which would look like this.Next, let’s talk about equipment!First, the Carrier, as you can see I’ve chosen the Principe de Asturias-class Aircraft Carrier.Principe de Asturias (R11)Now this carrier was sold for scrap a couple 3 years ago, but IIRC it’s still not scrapped, yet…I mean, look at what China did to the Varyag, so this carrier cost around 545 Million USD to build, now I’d say it’s in mediocre condition and I can buy one for 450 Million USD, and it will cost another 250 to repair and overhaul (If Spain approved of course, but let’s assume they do)Great now for the price of 700 Million USD, we now have an Aircraft Carrier. Now thanks to the heads up from Sourasish Panjai, I forgot Naval Aviation…So let’s talk about it.First, I would need 3 things, Aircraft for my Carriers, ASW planes, and helos.First, the ASW planes, I would choose the P-3 Orion, now these costs…81 Million USD per plane, so I’d buy a good 8 to at least have 4 on patrol at all times, and rotate them in and out in case of war, in peace time however these would be halved.P-3 OrionNow these costs 81 Million USD each I would need 8 which would total to 648 Million USD.Next up is of course, the aircraft for my Carrier, which would have to be the AV-8B+ Harrier.AV-8B+ Harrier hovering at MCAS Miramar Air ShowNow these I chose them becauseThey can function as an Air Superiority fighters and can mount AMRAAMs like the Sea Harriers, but also has the function to carry bombs like the usual HarriersWhich might make it cost more per unit, but will making standardization in training and equipment much easierNow these cost, 40 Million USD per plane, I’d need 2 Squadrons of 12 so the total would be 960 Million USD.Now lastly Helos, now these are not in the Naval Aviation OOB because these would just be stationed on the ships themselves, now I would need 20 for all ships (Excluding the Asturias), for this I choose the MH-60R Seahawk.A US Navy SH-60B SeahawkNow these costs, 43 Million USD each, I would need 20 which would be 860 Million USD.Next is the Cruiser, now I have my eyes on a cute…big guy, the Sejong the Great-class Destroyer. Now yes, it is technically a Destroyer but it’s way bigger than a usual DDG (An Arleigh Burke-class is 40% the size of this) some consider it a CG, and that’s good enough for me!ROKS Sejong the Great (DDG-991)This thing cost 981 Million per ship, I’m buying 2 so the cost would be a total of 1.9 Billion USD.Next is the actual destroyer, for this I chose the Type 45-class Destroyer.HMS Daring (D32) Type 45-class DestroyerThe Type 45 is an anti-air destroyer, and I bought them because there’s not really anything like it…these cost 1.2 Billion USD each, I bought 5 so in total these are 6 Billion USD.Last but not least my Frigate is the FREMM-class Frigate.Italian Navy ship Carlo Bergamini, a FREMM-class FrigateThese cost 881 Million USD each, I bought 5 so these costs 4.4 Billion USD.Now with that done, all of those ships and aircraft costs 15.4 Billion USD (600 Million USD under the red, thanks Air Force), god we were really tight on budget for this one, but with that done, our Armed Forces are now, DONE, This is my Armed Forces, thank you for reading!-GN

I have used Filmora in the last three months. I also asked Filmora for support and get it right away. It was cool! 5 stars! Using the Filmora video editor, making a very beautiful and professional video is quite simple. It also has very useful online help. There are very good effects packages from Filmstocks. I like it! Filmora included color filters and color corrections, good transition settings and titles, as well as many other functions and features. This is a very large collection for most videos. But as for me there are too complicated rules for using videos and packages. (3 stars at this moment.) Especially for business and even for personal use. For example, I would like to buy a package and use it as licensed for any use at any time. Also I would like to make my own packages in Filmora and for Filmora more simple than I can do now. But I can still recommend using this editor for all novice users, as well as for advanced ones, if you need good video clips in a matter of minutes. Just be careful with the license agreement. The final rating is a confident 4 stars with a plus.
