When a soldier complete his service and is retiring he will decide where is going to settle and then he will either buy a plane ticket from an airline or drive his personal automobile to the place he or she has selected. After reaching that location the retired soldier will submit a Form DD-1351–2 which will include his travel expenses, such as hotel and airplane tickets to the service appropriate service finance office which will make an electronic payment to the soldier’s bank account for the expenses, mileage and a daily per diem for the soldier and any family members (spouse, children) from the last duty station in the continental United States to the place of retirement. The service will also pay for the transportation of the soldier’s household property to the place of retirement.Unfortunately, the military will not pay transportation costs to move a soldier to an overseas location.
