Previously on display at the Penn Museum from the mid-1970s until the mid-1980s, the sexes of the two skeletons have been the subject of much debate. One is clearly male, while the sex of the other is less definitive, although it leans male. How the two came to be in the bin is unknown, but perhaps they were hiding there as a place of refuge during the final sacking of Hasanlu. When the school year restarts after the pandemic shutdown, will parents allow their children to return to school?

I live in Ohio. The majority of my friends’ parents are planning vacations right now. A month ago, one already took a trip to New Jersey. Another one of my friends is currently in North Carolina.People here really aren’t seeming to care about any of the problem. On the other hand, my parents stocked up food like it was the apocalypse (at least $2,000 worth of food before schools were even closed down). I was not allowed to go outside because the squirrels might have it.My parents really don’t want to get the vaccine, either. My mom’s been contemplating homeschooling all three of my siblings when she barely got a high school education.Let’s just say I’m glad this is my first year as a full-time college student. I can do most of my classes online next semester. But yeah, most of the parents around here feel just fine about sending their kids to TJ Maxx with no masks or anything. Just cuz.

What statistic would most people be surprised by?

Statistically, riding roller coasters is one of the safest activities that you can participate in throughout the entire world. The chance of sustaining injury or getting killed from a roller coaster ride is even slimmer than being struck by lightning or car/bus ride. The most dangerous part of getting to the roller coasters is driving to the park. These days amusement parks are building the larger, greater, and thriller rides in order to take cash from the adrenaline junkies. Here are some of the scariest rides I've been on last year.(Top Thrill Dragster, Ohio. The whole ride takes 17 sec. It accelerates to 128 miles/hour in the first 3 sec. I knew I'd never be an astronaut, but someone told me sitting in a launching rocket felt similar with the ride)(Millennium Force, Ohio. This one is scarier than Top Thrill Dragster, in my opinion)(Rip Rock’it, Florida. This one makes me feel I'm put on a rocket flying directly towards the sun)(Goliath, Illinois. This one doesn't feel like a wooden roller coaster at all. Very smooth ride. Highly recommended)All of them look scary and thrilling, yeah? Well, when I was standing in line waiting for my turn, I was always anxious and sweating. But once I got on the ride, all I felt was wind and joy. There was Erie Lake close to Millennium Force. A guy in my class was even trying to discuss with me about the Erie Doctrine we learned in Civil Procedure. So, the question — are they safe?According to International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, 367 million people visited about 413 parks in 2015 in the United States and boarded 1.8 billion rides.[1][1][1][1] The National Safety Council estimated that the chances of sustaining a serious injury in 2015 at an amusement park was 1 out of 24million, and the likelihood of getting killed is 1 out of 750 million.[2][2][2][2]The likelihood of being struck by lightning is around 1 out of 775K.There are 11.6 deaths per 100K people and 1.16 deaths per 100 million miles traveled.[3][3][3][3]912 out of 1 million people who roller skated sustained injuries, and 799 out of 1 million people who played basketball injured.Even the injury rates for golf, billiards, fishing, and camping are higher than amusement rides. My grandma didn't allow me to get on any roller coasters when I was younger, as she said it was too dangerous. I rode the first roller coaster in my life at the age of 19.In fact, it would be wise if she prohibited me from riding on a bus instead. Each time an accident happened in the amusement park, it almost always hit the headline. Thus, a lot of people get the impression that there are a lot of deaths from the rides. The truth is, very few (if at all) of the accidents are caused by the ride itself. There are almost always other contributing factors. For example, negligence on the part of the riders, pre-existing or undiagnosed diseases, physical (height, weight, etc) and medical condition (blood pressure, heart attack) of the individual, etc.Victims’ family usually like to make a product liability claim, alleging that the victim died or sustained injury as a result of a defective ride.[4][4][4][4]If such a product liability claim stands, the court may impose strict liability on the amusement park, which means the court would rule against the amusement park without giving a crap whether or not the park has taken precautions and reasonable care. Depending on the state, many courts would hold the amusement park strict liable if the amusement park built the rides themselves. Some courts would impose strict liability even when the amusement park didn't build the ride by themselves. If anyone wants to start a business like Six Flags, being sued for product liability and held strictly liable are the risks you are going to assume.Footnotes[1] The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions[1] The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions[1] The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions[1] The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions[2] Injury Facts: Odds of Dying[2] Injury Facts: Odds of Dying[2] Injury Facts: Odds of Dying[2] Injury Facts: Odds of Dying[3] General statistics[3] General statistics[3] General statistics[3] General statistics[4] Amusement park accidents - Wikipedia[4] Amusement park accidents - Wikipedia[4] Amusement park accidents - Wikipedia[4] Amusement park accidents - Wikipedia
