Tran Quoc Pagoda (國寺 國寺) is located on an island on the East of West Lake (Tay Ho District), the 1500 year-old pagoda is considered the oldest in Thang Long - Hanoi. If I could give any single piece of advice about how to deal with a Canadian, never rush a Canadian! The Trump Administration, trying to bully Canada into rushing, is a collective Boyar. Some agile stalling from the Liberal Government will go down well with Canada's electorate.And, we take our time and the six weeks run out. What will Donald Trump do? Cancel NAFTA? Various big-time Americans have told him what will happen, particularly to campaign donations, just as the USA approaches election time. Yes Canada and Mexico will get hurt but the USA will lose a lot of jobs as supply chains shut down and Canada and Mexico raise tariffs on US goods and services.So, should the Trump administration give in to Canada's non-negotiable NAFTA demands? (Even a crazy, left-libber can think some Canadian demands up.) Or, do we see the US administration having to suspend negotiations for a year or so? For the Liberal Party of Canada this would be sweet victory. Canada's national news commentators will have great difficulty not to giggle when they report it. And, think of the Liberal campaign posters, “We stopped them in their tracks!” How better to vanquish the Conservative Party of Canada, plus the other, littler parties in the House of Commons!We'll Get Over It, But Everybody Else?Canadians remember their pleasant holiday trips to Palm Springs, Brownsville-Harlingen, Myrtle Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Sooner or later, The Donald will tell his last lie and his Cabinet revolving door will close. Or, if we Canadians are lucky, not just Pennsylvania, but everywhere, will give in, vote Democratic and the Democratic Party will control both houses of Congress. We will then negotiate with much less silly Americans and we will still remember that many Americans deal honourably and honestly.However, what about those other aliens who don't get to go on cheap gambling junkets to Las Vegas or dine out on senior's specials alongside the dog tracks and Jai-Alai courts of Miami Beach? Some of those foreign folks think that Donald Trump actually is America, that is, a very rich, thoroughly dishonest representative, of Redneck spring break. That impression will not go away so quickly.At this point some Canadians would derive pleasure at seeing Donald Trump and his on and off Cabinet twisting themselves in the wind. However, we also know this pleasure will give us a nasty hangover.We need the USA to have credibility, not just with us but with the world in general. Most Canadians do not want to see Vladimir Putin and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, being seen as more straight up than the United States Government. We don't want the European Union, the TPP partnership, India, Brazil, Mexico and most everywhere else take on that world view. That is definitely not good for us. I voted Democrat for around 25 years. I live in a completely Democrat controlled state, county, and city. I work in one of the most progressive cities in the country. It wasn’t always that way though. When I was younger there was law and order, San Francisco was the gleaming jewel of the west that it is portrayed as in the movies. California was run by Republicans then.Now it’s a shithole. Literally shit and piss everywhere. I am not making this up. Children being led around needles and people shooting up on the sidewalk. Homeless people attacking tourists for not giving them enough money. Police ignore the drug use and any theft below $900 (as it’s a misdemeanor) but rigorously enforce anti vaping laws. Saw a homeless person lay a giant shit log in the BART station in the morning. It was still there at 4 in the afternoon. No one’s job? Escalators are always broken, the piss from the bums sleeping on it at night continually rust them. Last time I was in the city everything was either out of business or boarded up because of rioting.I live in Oakland, one of the most racially diverse cities in the country and for most of my time alive, run by black people. Rioters looted all the stores on Lakeshore. What did the Chinese computer store have to do with racism? What did the burger place owned by immigrants do? Workers have places they park their trucks to sleep during shift. His track team works 3 hours a day and plays X-box and Playstation at the beginning and the end of their shift since they can’t do anything while the trains are running. They work all the over time they can because the multipliers are crazy. BART is always asking for more money to improve “aging equipment.” Then they strike every couple of years. Some engineers making $450K a year.Teachers unions always complaining about how much money they make. Work 9 months a year. Highest paid in the nation. Worst results. Strike… Mandatory donations to Democrats.All these government workers are paid through the state pension fund. Democrats promise to raise the pensions every time the unions ask. Pension fund is impossibly underfunded. Economy takes a dive like now? They have to tax us more to make up for the short fall or the house of cards comes tumbling down.People are leaving the state since work at home is becoming the new norm. Real estate prices collapse. Gavin Newsome suggests a wealth leaving tax. Before you can move your money out of state they are going to take a chunk of it.California is the gold standard for anti Gerrymandering.
