Very interesting question.My daughter passed away from cancer when she was 35. It was almost 3 year process predicted to be 18 months. She was very much a street kid who found her way around the social assistance programs in the government. With Canada's medical assistance she got her life extended through experimental treatments because of her youth and type of cancer.Now imagine a know-it-all street kid, with a chip in her shoulder and you probably got a good idea. I saw her change to an adult giving advice, gently to friends suffering from cancer. She lost her chip and anger. Became quiet and jovial with others around her. Shared well with her brother and his wife. Guided our decorating her palliative care room for her last Christmas. Guided conversation when required. The peace in that room was incredible. I have experienced the peace of Spiritual Masters and this was equal in comparison. She had fully and completely come to terms with her destiny.From spiritual reading of the dying I gather there is a stage of acceptance where all questions are dropped. I reflected over the 3 years how the discussion of dying stopped not from fear but from some inner guided truth. It was painful blessing being with her in the final month.
