The application process for UK universities is basically exactly the same for International students as for UK students.You apply online, via UCAS , to anything from 1 to 5 universities, giving them all exactly the same information; you fill in a series of factual sections on such things as your personal data (name, address, phone number, email, date of birth and so on), your educational details (secondary schools attended, exams taken at 16 and older, and external exams you are due to be taking), any history of jobs you have had, and your choices of university and course. Don’t forget that you will almost certainly need to take an IELTS test, so make sure you put that in too. And then you write a page or so (to a maximum of 4000 characters) about yourself, your education and enthusiasms, why you want to study whatever it is you do want to do, and what you are hoping to do after university. You tell them the name of the qualified person who is going to supply a confidential reference for you, and you pay for your application (I don’t know the cost for next year, but it is unlikely to be more than about £30 at the most). And you send it off.In due course, you will start to receive responses from your chosen universities. They may offer you a conditional place (i.e. depending on your future exam grades) or they may reject you. You could be accepted by all of them, rejected by all of them, or offered a place by some and rejected by others. It’s up to them.Eventually, you will have to narrow down your possible choices to a maximum of two: one firm choice, and one (with lower grades required) insurance choice. And then you do your very best to get the grades you need for your firm choice. If you get the grades you need, then you’ve got your place.That is basically it.I am afraid there is very little in the way of financial assistance, though. UK universities are nearly all state-run and state-funded, and they do not have lots of spare cash waiting to be given out as scholarships. There are some limited funds at some universities, but this isn’t widespread or common. I’m sorry about that.I hope this helps you to understand the application system, at any rate.
