Which payment service companies in the UK facilitate direct debit payments within a salesforce.com/force.com solution? Or any companies who are willing to create a solution for Force.com?

Disclaimer: I work for GoCardless.GoCardless can do Direct Debit payments within Salesforce. You need to install the Asperato (ASPERATO) app. You can then create branded web forms to set up Direct Debits from within Salesforce campaign pages, recurring payments, etc. It's ultra simple & sounds exactly what you're looking for - feel free to inbox me if you have any further questions. :)More info here: Asperato integrates GoCardless with Salesforce

Why do I feel that UK is far better than US?

Administration of driving licences and vehicle registration. The UK DVLA does everything online (or at a post office) except for the driving test. In the US, you often have to visit a DMV office. For many simple things (such as a typo on a vehicle title document) you have no choice but to attend the DMV in person. And in many places, appointments are booked up so far in advance, and you only have a limited time to do the task (10 days to register a newly purchased vehicle) that you have no choice but to turn up and queue for 3–4 hours.2. BankingAll the UK banks use a common standard for interbank transfers, standing orders (push payments) and direct debit (pull payments). Transferring money from one bank account to another, whether at the same bank, another bank, or another person at another bank is a simple and quick process (usually within seconds) requiring only a sort code, account number and name, with sensible limits (no 5K limit). If you want to move your current account from one bank to another, you just sign a form giving your new bank permission, and they move all your standing orders, direct debits and money and close the old account. In the US, transferring money between accounts seems to take a very long time. Even between accounts I own at different banks/credit unions, the money disappears for 3–5 days. There are limits on how much I can move free of charge (quite low around $5K per day, $30 a month on one of my accounts. To get it moved faster I need to use a cheque or wire transfer.3. Immigration/customs welcomeWhen you enter the UK, whether or not you are British or foreign, have a visa or are allowed visa-free entry, you will be greeted by a smiling immigration officer. They will always greet you friendly and chat pleasantly with you. They will, of course, do their job, checking your documents and questioning you where necessary, but they will always start with the original assumption that you are allowed to be there and have done nothing wrong. In the US, the TSA/USCBP (from comment, apparently it is the USCBP, not TSA) agents, both on the way out of the US and the way in seem to have been told to be cold, unfriendly and generally go out of their way to make everyone feel uncomfortable. It seems like their starting assumption is that you are not allowed in and should not be there, and only after checking your documents do they grudgingly allow you in. It is if they relish the power they have over you, they are in control (whereas in the UK the individual agents are not in control, the laws of the country are in control) and they let you know.4. Honourable mention for health care, workers rights, eggs (that don’t have to be in the fridge), online supermarket shopping, car safety (yearly MOT), secularism (yes in a Christian country!), bread, cheese, sausages, chocolate, beer (food/drink is obviously subjective), education (certainly to UK college level), TV variety (the US make some good content, but with limited variety compared to the UK).

What are some of the most innovative mobile payment solutions in Europe?

User cofounded Sign2Pay (see Home - Sign2Pay ), which is pretty darn innovative. Their company is specifically tackling the SEPA Direct Debit market, with the SEPDA Direct Debit directive, which basically guarantees payment, based on a simple signature... and they do this for mobile commerce (i.e. mobile payments). If you're in mainland Europe you will recognize this device:This is required every time you use your Bank issued debit card for internet banking, mobile banking, or offline payments. This is what User' company has replaced with with:That is correct: A signature. As per the SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) mandate, a signature is all that is required by the Biller to get payment (See more on SDD on EPC | SEPA Direct Debit - The SDD Mandate)No more modules to plug-in the card, get a one-time key out, etc. and if you're thinking a signature is not secure, thinking again! Over 12,000+ parameters are present on a signature - it is very very secure.By having a seamless sign to pay feature on the phone, I believe they've cracked the mobile commerce market for SEPA using the direct debit access. No more complex forms, card readers, etc. impulsive buying on a signature. Pretty impressive if you ask me.
