How can I get 1600/1600 on the SATs by myself?

Doing well on the SAT, especially for the reading-writing sections (which is a weak point for a lot of people), unfortunately has a lot to do with learning how the test makers think. I got a 1600, but this was after taking practice test after practice test and redoing each one multiple times because I kept missing things in the reading. What I would do, however, is write down what type of question I would miss and what exactly led me to miss that question. For example, I was making the mistake of assuming stuff about graphs—I would answer the question that referenced the graphs with what was technically a correct answer but was incorrect in the context of the SAT, where all the information is “in the passage” and nowhere else (aka you can’t assume that x about the graph guarantees y even if, say, your chemistry class taught you that’s a valid assumption). Then, I would keep these mistakes in mind when I took the next practice test or when I redid the same test several weeks later (so my memory of it would fade). I suggest you do the same. It’s cheap, and it increases self-awareness, so you are actively thinking about your shortcomings and where to improve. The writing section really tests grammar, which unfortunately isn’t taught very well in elementary and is hardly addressed in high school beyond “you should know it at this point.” If I were you, I’d read up a little on punctuation, the difference between who/whom, floating participles (the SAT really loves to test those), subject-verb agreement, and specific stuff like that. As you take more practice tests (available online), you’ll get a better feel for which grammatical concepts you need to really study. The math section is really something you just have to practice over and over again. The questions aren’t overly complicated, nor are they incredibly varied, so if you can do the math section well once, you can perform well again. If you’re struggling with a certain type of problem, there are countless resources online—worksheets, lessons, etc—that will clarify it, especially given that SAT has no obscure math concepts.Good luck!

Which subject/verb agreement is more proper: "...a third of Americans are..." or "...a third of Americans is..."?

‘A third of Americans is’ would be correct as in a third would be considered a collective noun, just like a team or a group. Here the rule has been discussed in detail ✔️**What Is Subject-Verb Agreement?**Well, we all know that every English sentence has a subject and a verb. It is important to know that if the subject is singular, the verb should also be singular. Similarly, if the subject is plural, the verb should also be plural. What does it mean? Let’s see this example:***The boy eats blueberries.***The ‘boy’ is the subject.‘Eats’ is the verb.Notice that the ‘boy’ is a singular noun as a subject, so the verb ‘eats’ is also singular. This is how the subject and verb must agree in number.Download a FREE PRACTICE WORKSHEET and Read more here:#subjectverbagreement #grammar #grammarmistakes #grammaticalerrorsWhat Is Subject-Verb Agreement? - abeez journalWhat is the subject-verb agreement?
