My experience? I moved from Manchester to Perth 8 years ago.I work half the amount of hours for twice the paySummers are glorious. We spend our weekends on the boat or on the beachWinters are glorious. 18–20 degrees in the daytime.Rain is celebrated. Storms are awesome. You know it will be sunny again within a few days however bad the weather.Petrol is half the price. You can also drive huge powerful cars without the government taking your balls off you.Traffic is a lot lower. Relatively speaking, non-existent compared to the UKYou don't have to queue for anythingYou can walk 5 steps in a shopping center without bumping into someoneEvery Premier League game is played live.Sport is everything. Whatever sport you play, they'll be a club for you, no matter what level you play at. Even if you're older, every sport has a “masters” level.You can own a brand new double story, 5 bedroom absolute beachfront home with swimming pool, for the price of a 2 bedroom slum in north London. We did!People are happy, friendly, warm, helpful. When I was riding my bike in Leeds, UK, I stacked it in front of a packed bus stop. 20 or so people stood and stared at me. Cars drove around me in the road. Same thing happened here, 6 or 7 people rushed to my aid. Picked me and my bike up, checked me over, offered me and my bike a lift home.Life here as an expat is idyllic. I wouldn't move back to the U.K. for all the money in the world. Australia has accepted me and given me a passport, and I am forever grateful. If you have the chance, do it.
