PDF Editor FAQ

I have a car lease with a dealership. But the dealership was bought out by another company. Does it nullify my lease agreement?

No. your contract is with the leasing company. If it was nissan your contract would be nissan Infiniti lease trust.

Is buying a high-mileage used electric car a safe bet?

It all depends on a cost. In example 2019 there was a glut of very cheap (in a range of around 6000 USD) Nissan Leafs due to end of lease for many cars. If I am not mistaken the lease agreement stipulated maximum mileage. So there were many with low miles and low battery cycles on the market. If you live in the city and have short commute they were bargain. My wife’ sister bought one for 6000 with lower hours and 90% battery. The miles are not that relevant on EVs. It was no brainer purchase. She loves the car. After the experience they bought another brand new EV Chevy Bolt.

Semi Vs. Cab over trucks, which is the best, can someone explain pros and cons of these trucks?

I have been a Cab-Over Guy from Australia for much of my driving career. We used the English Cab-Overs like Leyland's and Foden’s in the rough stuff because the cab over Kenworths used to fall to pieces and so many of the operators in earlier times went to Bonneted and so KW used to make a short bonnet for Australia so as the operators only lost two pallet spaces [Load Space] due to heavily enforced overall length restrictions. This is why we here in Australia do not have the American style “Motel Room” for a sleeper cab but instead it is usually restricted to a One Metre or 40 inch space. In later years we used to have Mercedes and MAN as well as the Japanese Nissan UD before the KW brand seemed to make a come-back with their Cab Overs so either they have toughened them up or the roads have improved.Driving a Bonneted truck is a bloody nightmare to do city deliveries and pick ups with and that was expected of us in the early days of our “Interstate work” as no-one else was going to pick up and deliver your loading and to try and get in and out of some of those delivery sites was a damn hassle indeed. I preferred the more easily manoeuvred Cab-Over with its excellent turning circle and its great visibility. We are told these days that we do Not Need to carry tools and Junk as that means less payload. Basic essentials and no more stuff as the companies do not want Drivers Mucking around trying to fix a half a Million Dollar piece of equipment of which they have no knowledge of let alone any real ability. Many of these vehicles are leased as a “Fully Maintained” lease agreement and so it is not up to the Driver to fix things. The only disadvantage that a Cab Over has is IF you are working in remote areas and there are numerous “Gates” to open and close along some rural roads and yes I know that the people from the USA would not understand at all but sometimes there are indeed “Gates” and so when one gate leads to another Gate and yet another and the rule is to always leave the Gate as you found it and so it means climb down and open the gate and climb back up there and drive through and then climb down and close the thing again and climb back up there and drive on to the next one. Not all Trucking work is done at 80 MPH on a Freeway.
