Every American citizen has the right to vote.There has ALWAYS been a form of ID needed to vote.The standard drivers' license, military ID, passport, were used but so were things like student ID's, a utility bill or bank statement with the residents name and address, or a tribal ID.One party is adamantly claiming voter fraud and to reign this in have proposed stricter guidelines for IDs that can be used to vote. Most include a picture ID, state issued with a physical address, that the person has to physically go get and pay for.Sounds easy?Most states put these places in areas difficult to get to. And little or no public transportation to get there. And only open from 0800–1600 weekdays.Don't drive? Some people had to take 3 buses to get there.Can't go on the weekend so have to take a day off from work. Imagine you're living paycheck to paycheck.AND you have to pay for it.Tribal ID's? Most reservations don't have physical street names so the addresses were PO Boxes.Student ID's? Have pictures but no physical address.
