This is a fraud company giving fake policy numbers with respective insurance company logo in pdf format.My experience:I purchased my car insurance from National Insurance Company on 24th february 2019 through policybazaar just to show traffic police. Recently my car got an accident in which I had to spend 35000/- for denting works. The service adviser in service center advised me to have insurance claim from the insurance company. When I showed my policy document and asked him about the type of policy, if I could get any assistance he suggested me to visit nearby National Insurance office to clarify all doubts. In National Insurance office they told me that as per their database the policy number was invalid. I called National Insurance customer care for final clarification. They also told that policy number was not available in their database.After that I called policybazaar customer care to inform this issue. The customer care guy asked me if traffic police gave you a challan, they won't fine you if you show this document, blah blah blah. After describing the car accident and invalid policy number as per National insurance database he changed his voice and told me that he would be transfering this call to claims department so that they can assist me and incase call will be disconnected they will be call me from their side. Ultimately the call got disconnected and nobody called in next 10 minutes.Then I called the claims number, the claim guy told that it is a third party policy, so no claim can be made in my case. When I emphasized on why the policy number is invalid and started scolding policybazaar, he toned his voice down and said it may be due to communication gap between policybazaar and National Insurance Company. He will be updating the policy number to National Insurance Company and confirm me through my mail id within 4-5 working days. Since then it has been 8 working days, but no confirmation mail from policybazaar.One discrepancy in our conversations to be noted.......Who generates the policy number ?1> If it is generated by insurance company (which must be the case), then the policy number must be in their database.2> If it is generated by aggregator(Policybazaar) then they must update it immediately with insurance company, but they have not done even after 9 months.Now it is for the readers of the post to decide how should they purchase a insurance policy.*Fortunately my bike insurance which is purchased through Policybazaar is valid as per insurance company database.
