PDF Editor FAQ

Why do teachers need to move around the classroom during the lesson?

To make sure I’m getting in my steps for the day.To make sure all students are on task and not stare sleeping/day dreaming/doodling/passing notes/on the wrong websites. To glance out the window to the parking lot and make sure my van is okay.To glance out the window to the hallway and make sure no students are wandering the halls aimlessly.

What are the unwritten rules of having online lessons/classes?

Based on my experience of having online lessons.Don’t snitch. This applies to so many things. The main thing is usually being late. Don’t snitch on people when they’re late, because 9/10 times they’re having wifi problems. Don’t make it hard for them.Don’t judge people if they eat. We’ve all been there— waking up late and starving, but realizing you have exactly 15 seconds to open up your computer and log into zoom before the teacher counts you as late. Let the poor kid eat in peace. Please switch off your mic. I’ve seen people leave it on for the whole lesson, or accidentally open their mic, and usually, that isn’t a problem, but it’s a problem when you do it on purpose and when start hearing loud music in the middle of the lesson and random screaming coming from the neighbourhood. If someone is unmuted, tell them! Tell them in private chats, public chat, message them, email them… just tell them to avoid embarrassment. We all go through this— logging into zoom and forgetting to mute. Just tell the person that they’ve forgotten to mute. It avoids a lot of embarrassment.Wear something decent. Please don’t be that kid who still wears pajamas to class. At least try and make an effort to put something else on. A sweatshirt, hoodie, anything. It literally takes 5 seconds. We don’t wanna see your pajamas.Know when to switch on your camera and when to switch it off. If the whole class has their camera on, turn your camera on. You can adjust it to show a little bit of your face. If the whole class has it off, please turn it off as well. It makes everyone feel weird and out of place. Please don’t do that.Take notes. At least take a screenshot or something, I don’t care, just take notes. Please don’t be the kid that messages everyone in the class asking for notes right after the lesson. It’s ok if you do it once or twice, but after you do it a lot, it becomes annoying. Please don’t do that. That’s basically everything. In conclusion, please don’t be a jerk, and wear something other than pajamas.Stay alive,Mags

Teachers, what criteria did you use when deciding whether to refer a student for any kind of testing?

There are systems in place for such things in most school districts. The usual process is something like this:For learning disabilities:Teacher recognizes a pattern of a student not comprehending lessons.Teacher consults other teachers to see if they recognize the same issue with the student. All teachers compare notes on the student to see if the same thing is happening in every class.Parents are informed of the teachers’ concerns.Parents and teachers (and an administrator, by this point, usually) decide to order testing for the student.Testing is done by a third party.A similar process happens for behavior disorders, except there’s usually more documentation involved, since the student has to have a documented record of disruptive behavior and the school must show escalating attempts at correcting the behavior. That is, you can’t just go from zero to a diagnosis of O.D.D. There are a lot of steps in-between.Learning disabilities are usually caught before age 10 in students. Behavior disorders often manifest themselves when a student goes through puberty. I work with kids in the 11–14-year-old age range. I’ve never suspected a learning disability that wasn’t already well documented in the student, but I have seen several well-behaved students go downhill quickly once they hit puberty.

This software saves tons of paper. My business is client-based and we require a lot of negotiations which, of course, must all be signed or initialed for approval. Because CocoDoc has digital copies of the contracts, we can just mark them up in CocoDoc and then send them off to the client to sign. It can be used all over the world. If I need to sign something from home, I just click. If I have a client in Japan and I'm located in the states, we just use CocoDoc to get their signatures without having to put anything in the mail. I can CC anyone when I send out a document and everyone is notified when it is completed so we can take action right away. It lets you know that someone has opened the document but hasn't signed so you can reach out to your client and ask if they need clarification on the contract. It's clear and easy to use, even for those that aren't tech-savvy.
