It was a mess to read and impossible to navigate.Beck's stroke of genius was to realise that it didn't matter how far apart the stations were, or where they were in relation to each other, the only thing that mattered was where and how they intersected. All people wanted to know was which station they needed to get off at in order to get to another station.Beck horrified people by presenting a map that was geographically entirely inaccurate but a brilliant representation of how the lines interacted. It eventually became not just the standard tube map but the blueprint by which all train network maps are depicted all over the world.

Quora is like an uncommon illegal drug.The majority of the population doesn’t use it and hasn’t tried it, largely because they don’t know about it.But every now and then, someone stumbles across it and they have to decide what to do.Some of them choose not to use it. They get the hell out.Others decide that they want to give it a try, just to see what it’s like.They use it for the first time, just a little bit, just for an hour.The next couple of days, two hours.In a week, it’s four hours a day.The user isn’t worried.They keep telling themselves that their increasing usage is not a problem. They think that they can stop at any time that they want to. They just don’t want to stop.But it’s evolved to a worrisome point. The user is consistently up until 3 in the morning, reading answer after answer in the feed. They leave comments on all of the answers of their favorite authors, trying to get noticed by them. And much more.They’ve become addicted.This ended up sounding a lot darker than I meant for it to.Overall, Quora is a really good site to spend your time on. You can make friends and become more enlightened about a wide variety of topics.But there’s no denying that once you really get into it, it’s damn hard to get out.

Oedipus complex.Ginny is a vivacious, witty, popular girl with red hair. You know who else matches that description? Lily Evans, Harry’s mother.But even without the obvious parallels between Ginny and Lily, I can still see why Harry was attracted to her. On a physical level, well, that’s no mystery. She is described as being very pretty (and athletic; Quidditch probably gave her a nice figure). We’re also told that “lots of boys like her”; Pansy Parkinson says something to that effect in the sixth book.But in terms of personality, why wouldn’t Harry be attracted to her? She’s strong-willed, adventurous, and funny (like downright hilarious). She and Harry share common interests, Quidditch being the obvious one. She’s incredibly brave. She’s loyal. And she doesn’t let anyone, including herself, including Harry, feel sorry for themselves.In terms of the abrupt change between the first five books and the sixth when Harry suddenly fell in love with Ginny, I actually think it was somewhat lazy story-telling on Rowling’s part. You could argue that things being rushed symbolize the intensity and transience of adolescence, but you could also argue that things really were rushed. Rowling had the fourth and fifth books to allow Harry to get to know Ginny on a deeper level, but he spends most of that time mooning after Cho instead. But it’s Harry’s transition that is abrupt, not Ginny’s. We get to see Ginny evolve from a timid fan-girl to the confident young woman she is. It just took Harry a little longer to catch up.
