If its Prepaid, its cancelled and never refundedThe promoters (listing site Askme.com - Your Local Search Engine to find Restaurants, Bars,Spas, Beauty Parlors etc) are in the market to raise funds desperately. What better product to catch investor fancy than online ecommerce. Just like all ponzi / nigerian email schemes, Askme also moves onto any activity that catches investor fancy - groceries, payment wallets, etc.So, the yardstick that determines success in ecommerce space supposedly is the number of orders generated by the site (not too sure if this is logical). The best way to drive up orders is to announce discounts and advertise products that are sold on other websites but at hugely discounted prices. The trick here is to upload details of items from other ecommerce websites and publish these as if the sellers have listed it themselves on Askmebazaar.If you thought its customers who are being ripped off or not refunded money, the sellers are worse off. Most sellers who agree to sell on Askmebazaar never get paid. Those who do most usually get paid after 3-4 months and some after serving legal notices for recovery.Interestingly, some sellers do not even list themselves on Askmebazaar but are listed by the site itself. When the orders are generated, obviously there is no seller so the orders are cancelled after a week - 10 days.The customer service staff are not given any access to the ordering platform, so they can only take your complaint and forward internally. The "backend" is a black hole where complaints disappear but are never really resolved.
