I am not having any regrets regarding my first year but yeah there were some mistakes i had committed in first yearSo let's discuss Do's and Don't​s in your first year .1 . Attend your classes attentively it will affect your performance in your batch tremendously and your self study time will reduce automatically.Don't waste your one hour just for the sake of attendance .2. Books - Follow or stick to only one book .Have one standard reference book but make sure you follow only one holy textbook .3. Focus on knowledge…don't study proff (exam) oriented in initial days but yes before proffs just focus on your previous yr papers and proff oriented important topics told by your seniors and professors.4. Histology is very important as per wieghtage in anatomy exams (theory + practical )as well as in pathology in seconds year so devote your time towards it .And make concept Crystal clear in histology slidesI suggest Inderbeer singh histology ( difiore's is huge and complex )5 . Always study anatomy by first completing hard part i.e. Bones and then soft part i.e. Organs and muscles. Practice daigram it's a key to score high in anatomy .6. Make a habit of making notes of each subjectI know it's tough to maintain it whole year but it will help you a lot in proffs.And write your answer in points and concise it to score more in proffs.7. I haven't studied embryology​ really well.I just procastinated it whole year. Don't do this.study embryology- gerneral embryology from langman-systemic embryology from inderbeer singh .It is very interesting8 . Don't neglect biochemistry it is equally important though it's easier than the other two and …. it is scoring too.9. I am in love with guyton though not able to complete it because i was not focused that much if possible do read that book for physiologyPlease must give it a reading from your library before buying any other book for physiology.10 . Now you are in a medical school and admitted to a professional course respect your seniors and professors. Listen to them they will guide you to the right path .And enjoy your first year​ but balance it with your studies .Lastly ,I believe …..our belief triggers the power to do and What we see in ourselves reflects to others so be confident and follow your instinct , you know what's​ best for you.Be optimistic :)
