Yes, there is more than 95% chance that board exams will be conducted after lock down.Now let’s talk about what would happen, due to lockdown, to board exams. To get an accurate conclusion we need to talk about some facts.We know that our country is locked down due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now this is a very huge scale pandemic. Almost every country is infected with coronavirus. So, this will hit the economy at a global level resulting in recession. India will spend their budget carefully . A huge population will become unemployed.In USA many regions had ordered the schools to be closed for an year, but its not possible for India to do the same. As India’s economy growth will decline drastically so it cannot afford to postpone the 2019–2020 academic calendar to 2020–21. This is because India will have to spend money equal to the cost of one year of education again but will not benefit anything from it. To get employment there are different levels of educational degree- 10th passed, 12th passed, graduate,post graduate, doctorate. If education gets postponed for one year then there will be a huge imbalance in the transmission of students to working employees. So its highly improbable that this academic year will be postponed till next year.HRD minister can order the schools to promote students of grade 1–9 and grade 11 and conduct board exams of students of class 10 and 12. But this can also create some imbalance. Students who are not capable enough to get promotion may struggle in their studies in their following years and might not cope up with other students. This could also result in more suicides. All students of 11th grade will be promoted but many students of 12th grade will fail which will create improper competition in college admissions and exams like jee, neet for next 4–5 years. Implementation of this has higher chances than the implementation of the above.Last, Government may decide to revise the academic calendar. In India academic calendar for schools are generally from first week of April- March. And for colleges, the semester starts from mid of July to early August depending upon how many students take admission in them and rankings of college. There are many national and state level college entrance tests which is also a major factor. So depending upon the coronavirus crisis, number of lock down days, summer vacation, winter vacation and long festival vacations , a particular number of days(lets say x) will be decided and all kinds of exams, entrance tests, commencement dates of schools , commencement dates of colleges, will be postponed for x number of days from the original dates. This is the most appropriate decision.
