Collection Department: Fill & Download for Free

For awhile, I owed a lot to many. Before I learned the rules, I just calmly handled the calls. They were averaging one a day—different debts, different agencies.This one guy starts screaming and pointedly calling me names. “How can you call yourself a MAN??!!” So I said very simply, “Here’s the deal. Here’s my sitch and here’s my plan.”Suddenly he got really reasonable and said “Man, I can tell that you won’t be able to pay this, so it’s not worth my time.” Then he wished me luck and hung up politely and never called back.On the flip side, a guy from the collections department of a big bank called me so often we were getting almost chummy. Then one day he called up to warn me that “Tomorrow, the bank is going to take their “right of offset” and claim all the money in your bank account. I have to do this tomorrow. Thought you ought to know.”Then he added. “So if you were to take all your money out of the account today, I wouldn’t be able to get it tomorrow.” So I emptied the account.Next day, sure enough, the bank took the remaining pennies. I had made a friend in the collections department!

Probably the lamest thing offered to me personally was my boss walking up to me around 4:00 or 4:30 in the afternoon on New Year’s Eve and saying “I want you to take the rest of the day off.”I am also reminded of the time I came to my desk one morning and found a string of colorful plastic chips. I didn’t know what they were or what they were for, so I just threw them in the trash.A short while later, a colleague walked by and happened to see them in my wastebasket and said “Better get them back out.”“Why?”“They say that Jason [the VP of our division] had those distributed as part of a morale-building program, and he will get upset if he spots anyone not wearing them.” Seriously.It seems that Jason must have imagined that his employees were like that band of Khoisan tribesmen in the movie The Gods Must be Crazy, who became fascinated by a glass Coke bottle that fell out of an airplane into their encampment. Presumably, he thought that upon seeing a string of colorful plastic chips, we would want to put them on and wear them as ornaments.The Gods Must Be Crazy - WikipediaFinally, I am reminded of a story I read years ago where Macy’s outsourced its collections department and laid off dozens of employees.As compensation, they set out an assortment of chips, dip, and other snacks in the office of the affected employees for several days and then, on the day they all went home, gave them tote bags that said “Make Macy’s a part of your life.”

The most common thing I see while I take a walk in Kathmandu is Wastage. They are just everywhere you go. And, This had happened because people throw garbage wherever they like.I have even seen a person who throws his house wastage in the main street because he doesn’t want to pay money to the metropolitan garbage collection department.So, I would like to ban, people throwing garbage in public places. If found then some hefty fines would be collected from them.But, this will not be implemented directly. It will evolve through time. Because, let’s face that, whenever a rule of fining people has implemented in Nepal directly, then it had brought some type of chaos like banda.
