The anti-gun congress and white house can pass the laws, but if there isn’t a vehement anti-constitution, anti-gun, activist majority in the supreme court, the laws mean nothing. Since Supreme Court Justices are life appointments, that will not happen any time soon.Once the first stages are done, the next phase would be to repeal the 2nd Amendment. This would require a great deal of convincing. To achieve this requires approval by the voters in 38 states. Currently, that means you would have to convince several very pro-gun, very conservative states to vote against their own interests. Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Misouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska. Those are the states that would put up the most fight. Currently, the MOST states you could get to ratify repeal of the 2nd Amendment is 22 (CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, MN, WI, IL, IN, OH, NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MD, NV, MI). Granted, that leaves 3 states in a toss up (PA, IA, LA), but even if those were swayed, that gives 25 for repeal and 25 against. At that point, laws would have to be passed to ban firearms. I mean, if they can get the 2nd Amendment repealed, that should be easy, right? But consider the states defying federal laws for marijuana. You’re telling me there wouldn’t be a mass declaration in several states that they will be “sanctuary cities” and will refuse to enforce this?Not to mention, even if you pass the law, how do you enforce it? There are an estimated 60–70 million gun owners, possessing at least 400 million firearms. There’s no registry of who owns guns, so you don’t know who to take them from. Further, most of the people who would be tasked to take firearms away, the police and military, are themselves gun owners. So you would be asking Americans to put themselves into extremely dangerous situations to steal private property from their friends, relatives, etc.There is only one outcome at this point, and that would be another civil war. Most would not participate. Thankfully, I don’t see a new civil war lasting very long. One side has the vast majority of firearms, manufacturing ability, petroleum refineries, auto makers. The other side want guns banned in the name of “justice” and “peace.” Unfortunately, because humans are human, there will never be eternal peace.
